Finally some concrete guide not just for this map but in general, worth checking out other videos as well they are very educational if you want to improve and understand game better
--------------------------Omen-------------------------- Attack A: - 5:48 and 6:44 Attack B: - 12:29 and 12:34 Attack Mid: - 14:25 and 14:48 - 16:02 (one smoke only) Defense A: - 31:01 (one way from site) - 31:55 (one way from tower) Defense B: - 33:02 (simple one, if not Omen) - 33:44 (one way to B main) - 34:39 (site smoke to workaround) Defense Mid: - 36:26 (one way), otherwise no smokes
--------------------------Viper-------------------------- Attack A: - From 23:35 spot, 23:48 (wall) - From 25:24 spot, 25:31 jump throw (orb) Attack B: - 26:40 jump throw (orb) + mid wall Attack Mid: - 19:14 (from B) Defense A and B: - *Run fast and 27:54 (wall) and play on A with 29:35 (orb)
The cross smoke on a helps defenders especially ratty ones with judges or if they just play spray with phantom as a harbor I place my cascade there alot for retakes or while they’re entering to hold site and almost every time they push the cascade I get 2 or they run bridge and I jump on box and shoot them after both cascades are gone I can place cove there a get a kill with shorty denying default plant
Harbor is vital to this map, every other controller struggles to smoke any site effectively and their util can get stretched thin very easily, but harbor has an easy time smoking off either site or even mid to push his team up to flank B site and lock down rotates. Hes also pretty good on defence with all the boxes you can jump on which he can use to create unique angles for himself with cobe
i dont think its this deep no? they are many maps that you only smoke 1 angle at a time... think B site bind.. looking towards defender spawn they could be: close left side, infront of tall box, on top of tallbox, elbow, top of double stack box, behind double stack, in tube, on tube, left side tube, right side tube, behind tube/back site, cubby, CT and finally under hookah - but you only smoke two spots - elbow and CT?
This is a good moment to think about the fact that maybe smoking on bind should be done differently. Check this link and go to tthe Bind sheet and see how bind entrance smokes should be used. It is actually way more complicated than you think docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Uu5N03uqB2D2a_AGd-PCIuJzk23bAmVxMOQogf1afqo/edit?usp=sharing
I think you might notice that many of those are one-and-done's, anything in front of elbow and cubby you're kinda dead if you get one defending there. whereas on this map a lot of the positions have hard cover
Its not that deep, if you do his attack smokes in solo q you will lose unless the enemies are really bad. They might have some potential in highly coordinated teams but for most players they wont be helpful. Regular smokes pretty much any downside is mitigated by a single flash and they dont screw over your mid players from helping you. I made a comment explaining everything in depth if you wanna read that but if not I suggest you trust your gut and not use these!
The attack smokes favor the enemy team much more than the attackers. They may technically get you onto site but both funnel you into realistically only planting in 1 spot (left lane b or bridge a) or you have to wait for the smokes to fall and then you are left resourcless to hold. Both of the forced plant spots are TERRIBLE with the smokes suggested because they can be easily prefired or even spammed through the smoke. On top of everything it isolates your mid push players from your main players effectively making the round 2 separate 3v5/2v5s Edit: i forgot to mention that playing inside the smokes is also better for the defenders as well because they can get in them first on both sites and interrupt your push much more effectively than if you just did regularl smokes.
Regular smokes for example left site a and heaven plus any flashes make it so you really only need to clear one angle at a time because of how open it is and get you the entirety of the needed site to plant. This is especially true in solo q because the amount of coordination required to play around the videos smokes is just not going to happen especially compared to the only requirement for regular smokes is 1 guy throw 1 flash
This a smoke guide, not a flash guide. In my tierlist video about abyss you can hear me explaining how flashes are important on the map but you wont have them always available.
I think abyss might be like icebox where mid is just for late lurk. Hiting site though one chokepoint shouldnt be too hard likke on sunset b. Just rush plant and play stupidly easy post plant they made by paper walls and wide areas
a lot of these tips are weird. Especially "the best" viper wall on mid is useless. You cant scale with it at all, even throught the door and wasting the wall only to destroy the doors seems stupid
@@LotharVALORANTLaboratory maybe you can help me understand. 14:30 Omen smokes are too small to cover both sides. Either you can deny info from stairs or from the connector. In this case you denied connector. Even in the video you can see that top part of mid (as well as the bottom) is visible over the omen smoke from stairs. Viper orb however does cover both as its bigger. And the lineup is not that hard. 18:55 this wall does not deny info, you would be visible crossing into doors from mid stairs and even from the angle you claim is denied even though you later admit the wall is wavy so yeah, it does not deny info. 23:00 "this is the best wall for mid control". Bro you have no control, you smoked yourself off. The only thing you achieved is being able to destroy the doors safely. Essentially every attacking setup feels like is done with the idea of playing 1v5. You dont consider using other agent's abilities to clear other angles/positions so you rather smoke yourself off on the site. It feels so weird giving up map control for a false sense of security.
@@blfscarfish1858 Yes, the meta will be with viper or harbor to be able to attack b. At the very least, astra ult. But smoking so close to a site like that is the equivelant to smoke left/right tube on b side bind. it gives the defense to much room to make plays by flooding.
