@@pagejames8754it wasn’t a game either😂 30k in for season tickets in the first 2-3 days of the team being official. No one shows more support than Utah, hockey doesn’t belong in Arizona. Keep crying.
@@braxyong Very few are crying. It is hard to garner support when you are a perennial loser. So yay, good for you . . . I Bet the players are just thrilled to have to go there.
I’m sad for the die hards in Phoenix. But I’m happy for the fans in Utah! Best wishes from a Boston Bruins fan. Hope to come out when the Big Bad Bruins visit SLC! Utah is the most beautiful state in the West.
What die hards? Most of the fans in the Valley are those of the opposition. Always have and always will. Phoenix is mostly made up of transplants that keep their loyalty to their home teams and not Arizona's. I know this because I live out here. And besides, all those crocodile tears from those fans are for nothing, since the Yotes will return to the NHL around 2027-28.
Me and my wife are moving to Utah in the spring. I lived in west and south Jordan for awhile I’m sure most can guess why I moved there. Came back home met my wife and can’t wait to get back. So glad we are going to have hockey in the state when we move there. We are flyers fans but our children are 3 and one baking in the oven. I’m sure they will be lifelong Utah sports fans. Congratulations Utah you deserve it!!
Unless you're Winnipeg or Ottawa. Winnipeg can't sell out the smallest arena in the NHL with a contending team. You have one pro sport. We have 4 or 5. Canada will never compete with the U.S. in sport fandom little bro.
@mr.brenman2132 has nothing to do with what they're talking about..just making us look like arrogant Americans as usual..sorry Canadians we aint too bright😂
@@mithex8414 I say ice hockey to emphasize the fact that it’s a WINTER sport being played in a WINTER climate. Ps. When you say bro like that you sound like Jonesy and Reilly. F*ckin 10 ply bud…
The local MLS team regularly sells out a twenty thousand seat arena, and has the highest average attendance in the league. The Jazz also regularly sells out their games, and I hear they aren't particularly good right now. I don't think low attendance will be an issue
Won't be a problem. Utah has been selling out AHL, IHL, and ECHL hockey games for decades. And tons of NHL fans walking around, jerseys are seen all the time, off and on season
So if Utah does want to re-sign them, they should’ve told them to stay at home and not experience this, which would help sell them on re-signing with them? Huge brain on you.
@@WaffleLover-my1hi I literally said “if”. IF you want any chance to re-sign a player, whether it works out or not, you don’t do it by first telling them they aren’t coming to Utah and that celebration. What’s so hard to understand? They don’t have to sign either of them, but you are basically telling them we aren’t re-signing you if you don’t. Mental gymnastics over here.
@@MES1331 Sorry, I misunderstood what you were saying. I guess I mean to say I'm surprised the O'Brien and Brown would want to go, not surprised the Coyotes invited them.
@@dnuck318 The Utah Eagles in honor of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles. So stupid that name was not among those to be selected. Instead they're gonna have an awful minor league name like the Wild, Kraken or Golden Knights.
@@sjdrifter72 Ya I know. I remember the Golden Eagles from the early 90s! Decent name. All three of those names that you mentioned I think are good names. I live in Washington State and Have been to a Kraken game!! The name is awesome!! Just as I believe the Yetis Name will be.
@@Dinothunder3309 I bet you Josh Doan will remain in Tucson until his dad's old team returns in 3 or 4 years once that new arena is built and they get hometown hero Auston Matthews on the team.
@@timfronimos459 How can you have 'established" fans when the team has been in Utah for all of two weeks. Either way the music is pretty stand arena music, you hear it all time at basketball games, arena football. etc.
And just like that, an entire fan base in Arizona is forgotten by these guys. All because of the idiot owner we have. Enjoy this team Utah, we really did no matter what you hear.
Not even a yotes fan, but seeing that hype video and all the players…horrible times for those fans, they don’t deserve this, they deserve so much better than to have everything they’ve been working for for years and years get ripped away right when everything is about to work… was not a fan of them moving and this hurts, cant imagine what it must feel like for others
That's awesome! Now I can go watch my Golden Knights come play Provo City Prophets! Or is it the Salt Lake City Polygamists? Maybe the Utah Missionaries?! 😂 Nah, just playing. Good for you, Utah!
Very disappointed the name "Eagles" was not among those to be selected for the team name. It would have been in honor of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles as well as a nod to the old St Louis Eagles who only played one season in the NHL. Gonna cringe at the name they choose, which I'm sure will be either Blizzard or Yetis. UGH!
Yeah, it would continue the awful minor league names like Wild, Blue Jackets, Kraken, and Golden Knights. All non-traditional names. Should have chosen Utah Eagles in honor of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles.
Now Utah residents won't have to continue to use Colorado teams as their teams to cheer for like they have for decades except for basketball even though the Nuggets still beat the Jazz to a championship 😂 Being from Colorado and having gone to school in Utah and being very familiar with it I have to say that I actually find all of this hilarious. Utah residents will be die hard fans and I'm sure the team will eventually be decent but like the Jazz will get oh so close but won't be able to do it. I'm pretty sure Utah is cursed when it comes to major professional sports.
@@mattnewel8298 I’m gonna disagree with you there bud. This coming from an oilers fan who endured the “decade of darkness” with “really good young talent” that will turn my team around next year. It’s gonna take some time. Be patient. It will be good eventually
Utah has been selling out IHL, AHL, and ECHL games for decades. Hockey knowledge is NOT lacking. At least try to know what you're talking about before spouting off
Oh wow, this is so cringy hearing them talk about how good they are, can´t watch this lol. Are they gonna be called Salt lake city Mormons or Salt lake city Clowns?
@@pexrinne5144 Utah is super underrated and there's tons of misconceptions and nonsense about the State. Most people love it when they come. Even NBA players who are generally fall into demographics who you would think would not like it here love Utah. and I bet Scandinavians would feel right at home here in some ways. Lauri Markkenan says Utah reminds him of his home nation of Finland. Salt Lake City is what people think Denver is. You get to Denver and you see mountains way off in the distance like 2 hours away lol. In SLC, the mountains are right there all around you.
Special thanks to Gary Bettman to once again pass over one of the best hockey cities in the world - Quebec City. I heard them announce 2500 youth hockey players in Utah several times - like it’s an impressive stat or something. Quebec has 84,000.
They don't care as much as you do. Most of them are from cold weather countries or states. They aren't babies about it. They're pampered anyway while they're in any city. Not like they have to commute to work in the snow every day like the rest of us.
