Road test and sound check of the new Vance & Hines Eliminator 300's slip on exhaust I installed on my 2020 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic #harleydavidson #heritageclassic #vancehines #heritageclassic
Great sounding pipes Ga. Glad to see you back riding. Hope I have not missed any of your videos. I want to add new pipes and a tuner on my 2020 triglide. It has the 114 already so all I really need is pipes and tuner. You may just cause me to spend more of my kids inheritance. Ride safe.
Hello Great Vlog and scenery. You Heritage Classic and the modifications looks fantastic and the new sound is great!! Stay safe and keep riding & vloging. Also really like that long sleeved shirt and Hi-Visibility vest I need that down here in with the FL heat.
It great in the GA summer snd I’m sure it would be good in FL too. The T-shirt keeps the sun off my arms and flows air right thru it. I got it at an Indian dealer. I’m sure Harley-Davidson has some similar.
I went with the Vance & Hines big radius on my heritage. I did the stage one and used the street tuner. The sound is better and a bit more power as well as smoother. It’s a good idea to have done it as parts availability is terrible. I picked up the stage ll kit even though I don’t plan on having it for a few months as I don’t know when I could even get it.
Your new motorcycle is a real beauty and the pipes sound just right. I hope you enjoy the bike for at least a couple hundred thousand miles , I think it will do it easily. Harley makes fantastic bikes, I've had three ultra classics and a triglide and they're great just a little heavy but yours is probably just right. I just bought a 2020 leftover c50t like your last bike and I'm looking forward to getting it broke in . It's one of the smallest bikes I've owned but all I do is putt around town and the country side so I think it's going to be fine for that. Thanks for another great video.
You have 90 degrees and I still wake up to 34 degrees lol. Yeah, I wouldn’t go far if I wasn’t sure I could find gas. I have the exact same high viz vest 👍. Good decision on the pipes.
Sounds great! I'm taking my 2020 Heritage 114 in in about 2 weeks to have 3.5 inch Rhineharts put on. All my other bikes I had V&H but it would take a couple of months to get them and these were in stock. I'm not doing a tuner till the warranty is up then I'll take it to a dyno shop and get one.
I think Vance & Hines have the best sounds. A girl that rides with us has a 1200 Sportster with V&H pipes and I swear it is the best sounding bike I have ever heard and I love when she is in front of me. The view is also good.
I really like the V&H slip on mufflers I put on my Heritage. Not as loud as the Cobras I had on my Suzuki Boulevard but sound great. Sportsters with that Evo motor always sound great. And I know what you mean about the view…..lol.
"I was kind of done spending money on it." LOL I think every Harley owner has said that at one time or another. I know I have. I have the Eliminator 300s on my Heritage Classic 114, too. I didn't do a turner at this time because I plan on doing a Stage 2 and going with a Power Vision tuner once my warranty expires in October. Thanks for the video and I'm glad you like your new Eliminator 300s. So, what's next? Different bars? $$$ 😉
I really like the stock bars on the Heritage. It’s one of the many reasons I chose it. I’m thinking next addition may be sissy bar and rear luggage rack but we shall see.
I recently discovered mesh jackets. They don't have that harley cool look but they are pretty awesome in the heat if you still want some armor and abrasion resistance. Pipes sound great
Here in the South you have to have mesh in the summer or you will roast. They are probably not as good as leather in a skid but about the only jacket you can stand in the summer heat. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe
@@GARamblinMan Harly has also perforated lether , tiny holes in the skin. Have no experiance with it , but I think mesh is better. Be careful for drying out. Drink a lot (non alcohol :))
I just went through hell because I didn't use a tuner.. Trust me you made a good choice.. However is you and just a lil mechanically incline you'd be able to do it yourself in the garage it's really not that big of a job... But yes my goodness be thankful you did.. God bless
I just thought it would be logical to get the engine tuned just for these new slip ons. I would have done it myself with the Vance & Hines tuner that you can do with your smart phone. But for the HD tuning I just decided to let the dealer do everything. I got the nice Dyno chart as a bonus. I really love the sound and performance of these pipes. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
@KawaRider88 my Heritage was a 2020 model and I probably didn’t need the tuner, but just decided to do it since the dealer put the slip on mufflers on for me and had the Dyno machine. With the 114 motor, at least I didn’t have to change out the air cleaner. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sounds good, looks good too. You have sun. Since I came to Arkansas There has been almost no sun, lots of rain though. The pipeline is up and delivering gas again shouldn't be long and you will be able to get gas.
I rode today and had no problem getting premium unleaded. There are still quite a few stations around Atlanta without gas but it’s improving. Seems like most stations don’t have diesel. Glad I’m not a trucker.
I have these pipes on my 20 Street Bob and to me they are pretty loud especially when you accelerate hard. Mine do not have the baffles and I am assuming yours don't either. This is why I say the disadvantage with the 21 Street Bob with the 114 is that a pipe upgrade is going to cost a lot more since you really need to do a stage one which entails the expense of the tuner. The Harley tuner is limited since it adheres to EPA guidelines.
Mine don’t have baffles. I did use the Harley-Davidson pro Street tuner for the full Stage 1 upgrade. I used the HD tuner mainly to protect the warranty. Thanks for watching and commenting. You made some good points. Ride safe.
I have a 19 heritage 107. I think that what you did with the exhaust and tuner was a waste of money. If I wanted a sound difference I would do the V and H slip ons myself..but then again I think OEM sounds just right. Good video!
You’ve almost sold me on the Heritage. Had discounted it due to changes in recent years. Think the Road King though, may be better for me with a nice fuller tour pack. Like quick release windshield cuz Myrtle Beach weather and traffic make starting off on a ride unbearably hot at the height of summer and rest of year windshield on as needed.
I leave my windshield on all the time but the Heritage and Road King have quick detach screens from what I see. The Heritage windshield is a bit lower than the Road King or my old Suzuki Boulevard. I get a good bit of wind in the face when I ride with an open face helmet.
hi,, i am from the uk , and the vh 300 s , seem the popular choice here, the dealers here will tell you that stage 1 does NOT give any noticeable increase in power ,= so you did ok....what will give you a boost is a torque cam .. this will work for you without going for a big bore ,,, the way your riding a cam will allow the motor to breath using the parts fitted and you notice a gain == you are worried about warranty so get the stage 2 cam from your hd dealer and they should not charge you twice for the tuner . i know its more money but this will give you a smile ,, if not bill me...
I bought that vest years ago I think at Cycle Gear. It’s inexpensive Icon brand. Very light weight and adjustable. I wear it a lot in the hot summer months. It meets the military requirements for service folks who have to wear high visibility gear on base. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. I couldn't quite read the patch on the right. I thought it said Mil-Spec and was wondering where you got it. I'll check out cycle gear. Thanks again.
My understanding is that a tune is required with these slip-ons if you use a high flow air filter. My 107 doesn't have a high flow filter, I'm thinking because of that I won't need a tune. Is this correct?
The pipes I have don’t have any baffles and I like the sound. V&H sells a quiet baffle you can install at the end of the pipe to make it a little quieter but I like the sound as is. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
I recently replaced a brand new set of OEM, Honda, exhaust system pipes for my '96 Honda Rebel twin at around £700...costing almost as much as I paid (£800) for my whole Bike, second-hand, a couple of years ago! I am already missing the deep growl from my old, rusty, hole-riddled OEM exhaust system...LOL...! Doug..do you detect any difference in the "sound" between your previous Metric Boulevard V-twin and your new Harley Davidson V-twin...(Potato-potato?)...LOL...!...Take care...😊...😊...!
Paul there’s not a lot of difference between my Suzuki Boulevard with the Cobra pipes I had on it and my new Harley-Davidson with the Vance & Hines slip ons. In fact the Suzuki was louder I think.
My Cobra slash cut pipes on my Suzuki were loud and i really liked them. I think overall Cobras are louder than Vance & Hines. But I like the low rumble of the V&H slip ons I have on my Heritage.
@@GARamblinMan Thanks bro, I like the cobra too think the optional silencer I have dont do much. But on cruise speed they are not too loud for my ears. V/ h are also nice but I choose somthing differend because 80 % ride with vance.

Well so far so good on the new Harley except for one flat tire. I loved my Suzuki C50T Boulevard but it was time for a new motorcycle and I’m very happy with the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic so far. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Problem with the 300's.......I put the Eliminator 300's on my 2021 Heritage 114 as well but noticed the top endcap on the slipon discoloring because of heat. My top exhaust is so much hotter than the bottom. Have you run into this on your bike? I know the rear cylinder runs a little hotter but I wouldn't think this much. Harley says there is no problem...??
@@GARamblinMan If you get the chance, I'd be interested if your bike runs alot hotter on the top exhaust pipe than the bottom.....Just curious. Don't feel like I'm getting straight answers from Harley sometimes. Don't think they take me seriously.
Maybe it's the RU-vid, but that sounds more like a helicopter than a HD. Guess HD likes to keep the idle revs up nowadays. Kills the whole potato vibe.
I think it does sound better in person. I had Cobra pipes on my last bike and they had that potato thumping but I thought they were just a bit too loud. I think these are perfect but it’s totally subjective. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.
@@GARamblinMan I think it sounds fine. I just honestly thought you were waiting for a helicopter to go buy before you started it. The lopey off beat idle now just sounds very on beat. Still has a nice deep tone though. Maybe it would have idled down a bit once it warmed up?
