Love that Rockpile album. I saw that 1980 tour in SF. I think it was the first live show I saw right after Lennon died. Good but eerie night. Cool looking record shop. ✌🏻
Good memory on Traffic opening. I had totally forgotten about that. There was an album released. Doubtful its on vinyl. I seem to remember it being “OK”
Some great finds, I don't mind that Supertramp album but it is not their greatest. Picked my copy up for $1 and that's about all I wanted to pay for it. I love Go The Heaven, have seen Dead and Company 2 times, love em. Great finds!
Hmmm that’s the earliest Supertramp album I haven’t got, I picked it up last weekend - and put it down again! Was thinking of buying this weekend, but now thinking perhaps I won’t!!
If you saw Traffic open for the Dead at Soldier Field, that was '94. Steve Miller was '92. He came out and played on 'Good Morning Little School Girl' one night with James Cotton (!) on harmonica. I saw all of those Chicago shows. Ft. Collins is cool- I love the Odell's brewery. 'Go to Heaven' truly is a sleeper in the Dead's (some say lackluster) studio catalog. Ignore the naysayers! 'Imperial Bedroom' is a favorite. I have the MOFI. Half-speed would be nice. Nice selections all around!

Speaking of the bay area with your Jefferson purchases, I am in Berkeley which I would consider the spiritual sister to Boulder. Love both cities. I'm going to be in Littleton in June for a couple of weeks, do you have any other recommendations for record stores in that area? I definitely want to check out recollect. Because of contractual problems, Rockpile released albums under the names of their leaders, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe - thus only one album officially called Rockpile. Traffic put out an album in 1994 called Far From Home. It's a bit limp. Sort of like his solo stuff but without the hooks. You're right about old sealed albums. It's almost better if they've been open so you can check them out. "This is the Sea" is epic. That and Fisherman's Blues are classic albums.
