People, in third world countries, some doors can only have a handle made from bent metal pipes or even just pvc pipes. This is used to make those. I've also seen some people use this in making a sign in some farms. I've also seen this in some cellar back in the farm. The handle is made with this. What I'm saying is, they're teaching something that *COULD* be used. Don't knock it out of the park until you use it or see it.
i think what ppl complaining is, the solusion didnt match up the problem. the solusion offered using a totaly different kind of tools. its like someone trying to build a raft to cross the ocean, somebody come up offering a plane ticket as a solution.. the purpose still same, just a bit unrelated to the first problem
I assume it's to show that you can't secure a metal bar to a wooden board with a single nail being wrapped around it. Instead flatten the end of the metal bar and put two screws into it?
Maybe he thinks people are stupid enough to bend a nail around a pipe in order to secure it to a piece of wood? Idk. I literally have no idea what the nail bend was for. lmao
@@Littlelamb2023 : DRYWALL SCREWS ARE USED FOR JUST THAT… D. R. Y. W. A. L. L. ! They do NOT HAVE the tensil strength or the shear strength (singularly) to safely be used for most things that need load supporting capacity. ( I’ve only been building for 50 years )
@TEKTONTIM1956 while you are technically right, the wood is still doing to break before a drywall screw gets pulled out, and when screwing into the face of 2by like this it is actually strong enough to support my bodyweight with 4 of them on a swing hanging from the wall. Don't gotta be such a stickler man
Okay i got it. So this pipe actually is used to hold another pipe. And in that pipe will be a slightly smaller pipe. And on the end of that pipe will be a boxing glove. And inside the boxing glove will be a slightly smaller glove made out of rocks. When you fill the pipe with air, the boxing glove punches you in the face,but if you used a nail to secure the pipe you just hit grandma.
Here's an even better tip, you don't need to drill those little holes in it the way they show in this video, the screws will go right through that metal with ease. All you have to do is put the screw in the spot that you want it after flattening the metal pipe and then tap it one time so that it has just enough grooves so that the point of the screw will actually go in and this way it will actually be even more secure cuz it will not give the piece of metal any wiggle room whatsoever

The entire goal is to get bar to fastened down on to the wooden plank. The first way is the wrong way trying to wrap a nail around it in order to hold it down but it can easily slip out from it implying you can’t really get it to be fastened down. The second one is the solution to how you can fasten it easily by smashing the end you are trying to fasten and then nailing it in. Hope it helps.
