Chills. This made me cry. My wife of 31 years passed away on Jan 3rd. Met her when I was just 18 in 1987. I stay upset but this song is always beautiful from Queen and Marc. I miss you my little soulmate.

Thanks so much for reacting to this (and other Marc Martel videos). I'm absolutely amazed by him (also cool that he's a Canadian like me, too ;) ). Did you know that Freddie's mom (before she died) met Marc and thanked him for continuing Freddie's legacy? That's amazing..

2:56 He does the canurdle to start moving the sound into his nose and to widen his throat in preparation for the higher note at the end of 'of my life' - so that it more easily slides into the note with little effort. Those notes with those vowels can easily slip back into the throat so the canurdle (kermit) prevents that and lifts it back up and forward and relaxes the throat. It also allows you to 'park' your note as you begin a sharp ascent in pitch. The canurdle makes the '..life' note effortless because you placed the previous note close - on the same spot but on the floor below - by so now it goes up like an elevator - rather than running up the stairs!

I think Freddie was so emotionally involved in this song that if affected his voice, not in a bad way at all. Sometimes I just want to fight Marc because he’s so damn good lol. It’s not fair. His vocal control is just unreal. I love how he can control the crescendo & decrescendo of just one note and then move on to more. We’re not worthy.

I never see you smile the way you do when you listen to Marc. I can tell you are a fan. I enjoy all your videos and you have made me a Marc Martel fan too. 😊

I think I have watched Marc Martel's Love of My Life cover a couple hundred times now and I will probably watch it hundreds and hundreds more. I tear up every single time because it is so absolutely magnificent. And when people try to sound like someone else you can usually see a lot of effort physically being made but with Marc it just flows from him... effortlessly. Freddie is somewhere smiling and saying "Brilliant darling... perfectly brilliant" I thank the Universe for giving us Marc Martel since Freddie had to leave us way too soon.

Here's how you know Marc get so close to Freddie's voice. His voice is in the Bohemian Rhapsody film in a few parts. The ones I definitely noticed is when Freddie sings a part of "Doing all right" to the band members outside the bar early in the film, and when Freddie is coming up with this very song later on. Also, fairly certain that the part when he is coming up with Bohemian Rhapsody at the piano is also Marc.

The more I listen to Marc, I think that on a pure technical level, he is a better singer than Freddie. But, I do believe that Freddie was a much better performer onstage. Just my opinion, though. I’m interested to hear others. :)
