The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game's progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, 5 new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, more than 30 new songs, over 50 recipes for previously uncraftable vanilla items and other assorted changes to vanilla gameplay.

The analogy and dichotomy of Terraria having a mystical sword capable of slaying some of the most powerful creatures in the world as opposed to Minecraft having a sword simply made of a really hard material that's only ideal for slaying a dragon at best just goes to show the massive difference between the progression scaling of both games.

@@Humaricslastcall I honestly really dislike Botania, it may be slightly "innovative" but the way is presents is strongest weapons is SO DISAPPOINTING. The three strongest weapons are only stronger than a diamond sword because of their gimmicks. They may as well be equal to netherite due to all of them only dealing 7 damage, and crafting them is way harder than netherite, weak. >I know some people will hate me for saying this, but DE>Botania.

The Terra Blade being _viable_ against Moon Lord but not necessarily _dominant_ in terms of damage output, even within its class, at that stage is right where it ought to be. This Terra Blade needs its damage scaled back quite a bit as it gives me pre-nerf Fractured Ark vibes in its ability to easily perform over tier.

I feel like sometimes its just too much and it just stops being unique via being too... different? Its strange but thats how I feel, imo the in game vanilla terra blade feels the perfect mix between different/uncanny and original/normal. I wouldnt mind if a mod added a small buff to terra blade, but if they make it a flashy mess it just doesnt feel the same. IMO Great vid once again gitgudwo! ;P

Idk I never really feel like nerfs make me happy in any game ever. I've always noticed the pain of losing good gear or characters to nerfs, but i've never really felt the joy of a character being balanced lol. It just ends up being acceptable rather than a happy change to me xD.

I don't think it's wrong for something to be "too powerful", especially for the laundry list of materials you need to get the weapon in the first place. I think that weapons a couple tiers above the Terra blade should be more powerful of course, but 1 tier up from the terra blade and I don't think the weapons should be stronger than it. Imagine getting 5 bars of ore for a blade and it immediately outclasses the terra blade with it's 8 blades of materials. I just think if you put the effort into making a long-winded recipe, you should be rewarded for your effort

The thing is, Vanilla Terra Blade Already does that. It's pre-Golem and is around as powerful as other powerful post golem weapons (which can also stand up to some post pillar weapons to some extent, I'm unsure how much), especially with the right setup. when you have a weapon that's like literally post-final boss tier in strength when it's 3 tiers earlier though, that's absurd. It makes the game less fun by comepletely removing the challenge (if you want it to be easier, you should probably be playing an easier difficulty. Unless you're playing expert and don't want to go to Classic, but I guess you could play Journey and turn the difficulty slider to expert when you want to, which there shouldn't be any shame in that.)

That's out of what the mod has done so far and it would conflict with other, if You want every boss reworked and stronger I suggest using: Vanilla Bosses Remade Mech Bosses Rework Jungle Bosses Rework It doesn't cover for Post-Golem, but it does cover and add (In Mech Bosses Rework's case) a lot to the rest of the boss gallery.

This mod is terrible in calamity and the 3 giant mod triplet with fargos and worse in multiplayer, please don't get this if you are adding those 3 mods, ( Calamity, Thorium, Shadow, Fargos ) in multiple, terrible lag, the guy who made it didn't account for that and should really fix it, a shame it is more harder for some developers to update it cause it is more harder to understand if they don't speak english and all. Other than that, beyond good.

I mean, if you're playing that many large mods together you REALLY should be expecting something to go wrong, especially if some things completely rework vanilla content. If they're intended to go well with each other though it's (usually) fine, though. Multiplayer tends to be the bane of modders' existence, so it's somewhat surprising it even functions in multiplayer.

this rework feels way too "modded" for me, as the only part of this mess that isn't a shader effect is the sword itself. while the sprite is cool, it has way too many visual effects going on at once as opposed to 1.4.4's terra blade only having 1 or 2. this feels, looks and functions more like a weapon from a shitty chinese mod that nobody plays got a terra blade skin and in all honesty, thats exactly what it is.
