IKR? the different styling is what made it cool and now just another copy paste, ugh

they did it for readability, since Lee's main tell between his skins now is the ponytail, (expect for a slight few due to them being unable to work with one), and storm dragon was THE skin that brought up readability issues, i think it was slightly needed

@@lv4715 they apparently adjusted the nosiness of the vfx to help with readability. On that note god fist, knockout and dragonfish don't have one so why would the give one to storm dragon. the whole reason I bought that skin was because he had good animations and a nice set of hair. I don't want no wet noodle ponytail ruining it

I also think taking away the bruce lee-esq footwork/pendulum footwork from dragonfist takes away its character.. otherwise that skin looks great all around after the changes... and they kept the short hair here so why not keep it on traditional and storm dragon..?

@@MagorTuga look at his VFX from other videos. If we are talking about the same one, the gold one, it is clearly missing an update to VFX of his skills in this update.

The pony tail is part of lee-sin's original look. look at base lee sin, he has a pony tail, they just meshed it into his skin because of the tech issues back when he released. this is all on their dev post as to why they added his pony tail to be an actual pony tail. Not including the pony tail is like not including akali's mask in all her skins or not including morgana's wings in her skins.

@@jhenxou4721 even in the rework dragon fist has short hair, god fist is bald, knockout has a cap. Identity, technical capability differences, or not, it just looks way better IMO. Just an opinion many people seem to share. I also don’t think his pony tail should be considered identity.. monks can also be bald.. his identity is spiritual balance and martial arts and yaknow... a blind monk... Something they also removed when they made the god fist skin cocky and arrogant and have no blindfold. Akali is also missing her mask in numerous skins.. I think if they made the hair slicked back, instead of how it currently is - similar to how yasuo is where it flows into the pony tail it might be acceptable.

Most champions do that actually, it's an animation technique to convey motion It's extremely exaggerated, but from the game perspective, it's barely noticeable

no it's because that was supposed to be how base lee sin looks like. His ponytail was what helped define his character, like Xin Zhou. It was supposed to be an important part of his character model, but back then they just meshed it into his shoulders and called it a day. If he was a more recent character people wouldn't be complaining about it. MOST of his skins need it to define that he is Lee Sin, its like giving pantheon a skin where he doesn't have his helmet or crest. it should only be used applied to some special skins

@@jhenxou4721 If he was a more recent character he would have been released like that, not changed 13 years after the fact. It really isn't on for them to just add a bunch of things to skins people paid for. They could have made a new champ that has a similar vibe and given that one the ponytail.

It's because the model is supposed to only be looked at from almost top-down way zoomed out, but you're looking at it from the front while way zoomed in. Proportions and animations are designed for the in-game camera since that's the only thing you'll see.

@@leetri That doesn't make any sense at all. Lee out here acting like a contortionist in the remake in some of his animations just means it's low quality trash. Do you honestly think while they are creating the animations they zoom out as they are creating it? Of course not.

Riot has literally made videos about how they design characters and skins and show their process, we know how they work. It is literally industry standard to design around the in-game camera because that's the only thing that matters. The only low quality trash here is your ability to think.

Yeah, that's my only issue with this too, he had an actually unique hairstyle in almost every skin, now all but 3 have ponytails, it makes it a bit more repetitive, who knows, maybe they can change it

they gave him an actual silhouette. You can see even here old lee sin didn't have any defining characteristics to his silhouette. Its half the reason why any of his legendary skins were impossible to read at a glance, because if you changed lee's animations you legit couldn't tell who he was. The pony tail does feel like a bit of a cop out though.
