YES YES YES!!! I'm sitting here crying because this has been my cry and prayer for a lot of people my family and friends who are "woke". I'm balling right now. And soo glad glad I'm not the only one who feels this way! 🙌😭
Preston. Every time I hear you minister through this poem my heart aches so bad and I become weak when you talk about our ancestors being WOKE and then I am encouraged when reminded that our God has crowns for us, too and with Him and in Him we have peace, justice and rest. Powerful. 😢
Salvation is for all brother. No matter white or black or Hispanic or Asian. The gospel is for all. Jesus died for everyone. We were all morally depraved before God and Jesus is the mediator between God and man. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.“ Galatians 3:28 God bless you brother remember that it doesn’t matter what what race Jesus was he was the savior of the world. But Jesus was a middle eastern man as we see it portrayed a descendant of Abraham. Abraham came from Hur in the Middle East. Therefore Jesus is middle eastern. But nevertheless again it doesn’t matter we have to stop making everything about race we all bleed the same brother. We’re all human brother made in the image of God. I love you brother and care about you a lot man God bless🙏
EVERY WORD IS RIGHT ON from start to finish. Saved to favorite list. I am a New Woke Christian. Walking with Christ and BLACK down for the cause of JUSTICE. Thank you for this video.
Couldn't wait for you to drop this the moment I saw it on tour in West Palm Beach! Thank you for being obedient and writing this piece...this needs to be heard around the world! God bless you man of God@
Hey Preston! You did an amazing job. Thanks for sharing your art your heart, and for shinning a light on the gospel. I learned a new perspective along the way. Thank you.
I love this poem!!! I have often felt conflicted on how to handle the pain of how we are treated and still be able to follow Christ. This spoke to spoke to me on so many levels!!
Powerful!! Am I the only one that had to listen to this like 5 times bcuz each time it broke down a barrier of untruth that so easily beset my biracial ‘60s/70s upbringing, until I could finally hear Jesus. Thank you sir for all that you are in Christ.
The holy spirit warned me not to engagei with someone on social media bcs they view being black more important than the gospel... "whatever comes before God is an idol"... I'm glad I saw this poem
Preston Perry!!! Thank you so much!! This has been a topic of heavy debate for me for a long time now!! This poem was exceptionally written and preformed 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 well done!!
Amen! This spoken word was art, definitely Gospel inspired and I know it’ll touch many hearts especially since the theme of God’s love runs down this poem.
I really love what you do, from your conversations with people around the streets, your poem. You inspire me as a young girl, to me you represent what a whole christian should do, be and embody. Keep doing what you do 💜
To be honest I do find myself thinking maybe Jesus isn't for black people or that He is a white supremacist. Thank you for reminding me that He loves me no matter what skin colour I am and He died for me and that He is a just God. It is difficult to remember the truth especially with all the racial stuff taking place in our world.
Hlengiwe Minenhle Mkhwanazi My love, God is Spirit and has no color and His Spirit lived in the body of Jesus on earth and Jesus was born in Israel so He wasn’t Caucasian :).
Hlengiwe Minenhle Mkhwanazi racial stuff... one who is woke knows that it's a rhetoric they are playing in the news to induce fear and division amongst the ppl
Thank you for this spoken word. I've struggled trying to have a relationship with God seeing all the injustice happening in our country. It made my heart cold, even to my wife. My anger and skepticsim turned into blind rage and fear. I'm finding my way back to a heart of flesh, this spoken word came into my hearing at the right time. thanks again.
Hallelujah JEHOVAH hallelujah👏👏👏 👏👏 Help us!!!!! I'm woke and I'm telling these church to go to heaven!!!. Thank you brother. What a powerful poem. Amen!!!!!!! I'm all churched out, and our people are my heart cries. Thank you Jehovah Jirah for keeping us. Please ABBA wake us up and help us to see who we are in you. I will trust in the Lord. Grace and Peace 🌻 God's own princess
He’s speaking the heart of the Father, and declaring the will of the Father for our future as believers and this country. Very prophetic! This is one reason why spoken word poetry is so powerful when the Holy Spirit is behind it!!! I wish they had a snapping emoji but, Praise God, and Lord bless Preston and His family 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❗️❗️
As a white Christian, I stand with you as my brother first and foremost! I stand with you in Christ against all injustice, and injustice specifically done against black Americans from our days as colonies to the present. As a human, it would be easy to turn to hate against those of us who share ancestry with a people who have physically and psychologically torn apart your relatives and your relatives’ relatives and so on and so on throughout our often ugly history. As a natural flesh and blood human, it is understandable why an individual or group of people, persecuted and marginalized, would choose hate. But you didn’t take the easy road. You took the narrow road, the arduous path that Christ took and who has called all of us to take. You appealed to God’s supernatural journey beyond the natural. Not only that, but you raised the bar and call all of us to do the same. Thank you brother. And yes we are brothers in the name that is above all names, Jesus Christ!
DJ DJ thank you for your reply. I consider it a privilege that you would even have a discussion with me. Please accept that everything that I say and ask is meant with due respect to you. Let me ask you a question. Is it easy for the majority of people to make a lot of money (say $250K or more)? Stats show that only 5% of Americans make that or more. So 95% of the U.S. makes less than that. So the answer is no it is not easy and I know that the majority of Americans would like to make that kind of money. If it was easy, the majority would be doing it. Now let me ask you another question... When you watch the news, do you see a lot of negative and divisive footage of people verbally, politically and even physically fighting against each other? Or do you see a majority of positive stories of people coming together and loving on each other? I dare to say that negative news far outweighs the positive. Now I know that there is probably more positive news out there than is being reported, but negative news sells. 1) Why is there more negative news? 2) Or Why does it sell better than positive news? 1) Because it is much easier to hate, be defensive, side with people that look or think like us, etc... 2) As humans, all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Our hearts are naturally and desperately wicked. Our tendency is to be drawn toward hate and sin not toward forgiveness and goodness. We don’t naturally seek out God or Jesus on our own. I also respectfully disagree with assessment of what it means to be or to be motivated to be a Christian. Christians don’t come to Christ in order to wait for Jesus to come back and fix things. Having this anticipation may be a part of theology that leads some to take on the mentality. But even if that is so, waiting is not easy in this world of instant gratification, especially when the person waiting has no idea when Jesus is coming back nor has any control over His timing. But people decide to trust in Jesus because they see the devastating effects and nature of their own sin. And they realize that He is God...that He is the only one who has paid for that sin... and they don’t want to live a life of sin like they did before knowing Jesus. And now they want everyone to have this gift of Jesus that they have now found. That’s the motivation and essence of being a Christian. And it’s not easy because to follow Jesus is to say that I don’t want to live in or by those tempting, seducing and short pleasure filled sins that I used to with. So I respectfully and categorically disagree with you. That is why the majority of people do not follow Jesus. It is not easy
Seriously amazing and seriously needed!!! I am constantly surrounded by the conversation of being woke in my community, but what about for the Christian? We can still fight for injustice without making ourselves into god's and hating out brothers and sisters of another color. Look to the cross.
Pleeeease continue to let the Lord speak. 🙌🏾👏🏾 Resist voices who sit on any extreme as seen by some. Love for aaaall the brethren despite each of our clear flaws (from a black sister) “evangelicals” are not THE enemy
