You are assuming the delay was for technical reasons, but I think it might have been the result of too few people signing up for it. There has been very little interest in the console community about the game, and it's worth remembering that the beta wasn't announced until 5 days after the Big June Announcement. The developers might have seen that the beta would have a relatively tiny amount of people show up for it, and are trying to avoid that embarrassment. It will be interesting to see if they push out another heavy marketing campaign around the beta in the next couple weeks. This is the kind of problem that could spell trouble for the New World: Aeternum release; if their metrics start showing them that very few people are likely to pay $60+ for the game on consoles, then there's a point where it would make more sense to cut and run as soon as possible.

New World Aeternum will be delayed until late December 2024, calling it. And will launch filled with bugs, because they do not want to miss out on that Christmas $$$$.

I'm getting more bugs as I progress through the game: Missing items from inventory (and not the cheap mats either) and cannot attack bug, bugs it seems that have been around since day one.

When did Betas and Alphas came to be a version of the game for people to play and enjoy, and get a first look, instead of being a beta TEST? Aren't beta testers supposed to be there and TEST and give feedback? Whatever the issue may be has to be game breaking. There's not point in delaying if it was because of a lack of polish..

The console release is guaranteed. The problem is that management pick a date, and the development needs to be done by that date, when it should be, you size the work and then that tells you the date. A date helps focus the mind, but a silly date is counter productive. I wonder what the October date is ?

My last straw with New World was having Lydia ban me from the discord for making the joke “new world is banned in others countries because they’re protecting their citizens” Most of the devs working on this game don’t have the knowledge to make it playable, they don’t have the confidence to take feedback or light hearted jokes, they don’t have the patience to sit through feedback and make changes that will actually make the quality of life better for most players. It seems like new world is nothing but an experiment for AGS, and a failed one at best. I predict based off of my experience, the console release will be delayed, when it does drop their will be game breaking bugs that cause over half of the player population to refund game, the game won’t reach a population thats anywhere close to their first release as nothings changed. The game will be dead before Christmas. And thats mostly because of the inexperience that Scott, Katie and Lydia bring to this game.

I could imagine they delayed it due to bad sign up numbers and not technical issues or anything. Im not a console player but i heard even console does not want new world after what amazon did with the pc playerbase which imo is deserved. I defended the game its entire lifespan even till Summer games fest and now amazon lost me with this bullshit so i hope the game rots soon and amazon looses a lot of money thanks to themselfs basically. They are not worth any hype.

Absolutely nothing has changed and nothing will change as long as Scot Lane and the rest remain in charge. I should've called quits year earlier than I did. Well, better late than never and I've been enjoying other games. No hyperbole, no empty promises, no excessive patch updates to download. Life is good. I'd suggest the console gamers who are considering playing New World Aeternum drop their expectations to zero and give the game a try at launch but never ever listen to what devs say, less disappointments then.

The console release is a straight money grab. Trying to reach more people with no new content. They really screwed us loyal players.

does developer incompetence actually count as a technical issue? After 3 years of the game being live, after multiple years of alpha and beta development on PC before that, they still haven't figured out how to even do the beta test bit for this "new" release. They can't even get a do-over and do it right, and that's just nobody else's fault than the current leadership at AGS in Irvine (who have gone radio silent again after the steam summer sale). The only thing they are apparently good at is wringing more dollars from this failed game and that must count as enough to AGS proper. Hopefully the higher ups will figure out that you can't sell the same broken product multiple times and still retain any of your customers for your next product.
