For as much as I want Throne & Liberty to work out, i am very concerned and for as good as some aspects of the game may be, things are looking mighty grim for this new MMO. What's going on with Throne & Liberty, and does it have any hope?
@@thegray0 you have a solution, stop watching videos missinforming, the game will be released and all this guys talking shit about tl will be playing in silence, just stop watching shitty videos xd
Yeah, those developers made the greatest MMORPGs. Lineage 2, aion, blade and soul, guild wars. Maybe u are talking about the publisher, which is Amazon… that’s a different story
@@angelmusicvideoscalling it corruption is just delusional. You're trading money for time, not everyone lives in their mom's basement and can grind 12 hours a day.
@@gamesguy lmao, I'm glad I am not the only one who thought that... I hate p2w games, but it's a company trying to make money in the end. People vote with their wallets.
My favorite part of any MMO, whether in the new player rush new or revisiting years later, is always the leveling. At this point in my life, I have zero desire to be part of organized raiding and/or large scale PVP. I just want to have a good time existing in and exploring a virtual world. Not treat it like a second job. Sadly, with the exception of a few games, horizontal progression such as professions and other alt systems seem to be largely ignored or require mats that can only be acquired by, you guessed it, raiding and large scale PVP. It is what it is though. I have found plenty of solace in SP and coop games. So, its not that big of a deal. Its just sad to see a genre with so much promise churn out nickel and dime'ing theme parks non-stop.
yea, i feel it same, most fun is when you see how your character getting stronger, kill mobs easier ect. Dungs and raids is fun but usualy play only with randoms and iam okay with that :)
You're right that there are too many theme park mmo's, but you've got it backwards. They all cater entirely to the single player experience. FFXIV is probably the most egregious example. There needs to be more incentive for community and cooperation.
@@otornnumbero2529 Nah, it's neither. He just created a brand new video with exactly the same messages as in "The Sad Reality of Throne & Liberty". There is literally nothing new in this one.
Kind reminder that Guild wars 2 has ALL those activities and more, basegame is FREE its on steam and standalone launcher and the game has been around for more than 10 years, theres a good amount of playerbase and a new expa is coming up on november 20.
90% of this video is the same thing he said in all of his other videos about throne and liberty and then just adds something at the end thats actualy relevant to the title of the video. After few videos i realised he keeps doing this with majority of his vids and i stopped watching him completely
I thought I was the only one who thought that. I'm like, we already knew this like 4 months ago. It's like he is re-incinerating the discontent about this game. I follow some twitch users that play this game, and they all say the game isn't that bad and the majority of the complaints is about NCsoft, not the game. In fact, they say NCsoft is still working hard on this game. New weapon and areas are going to be released and they are going to adjust the combat even more.
This video is as much the same thing, as any "new game" releases that just copy-paste same ideas, mechanics, code, everything :D clearly just a lazy video for the sake of just uploading a video
As someone that followed TL from the start and I'm loving the game I can say that's the best and honest review out there. NC need to listen or it will flop to west also with the p2w. Everyone on west its fine with the sub fees and cosmetics on a free-to-play game but when it comes to p2w/progress nah(personally would love to see TL on a buy to play as 20-50 euro packs +sub fee for/and cosmetics. I also give that price and hope people can reflect on my next words = ""pax-day for example its just again greedy practice again for a half-assed game released as d4 and a lot more with only 1 feature working and a TL its a fully designed game(as features) and deserve more but still i give that low amount imagine how i price the other 2 :D"". About that bot stuff that was kinda of addressed to a certain point by NC but Force forgot to mention I guess about it(afcourse more to be desired on that front but was a good start). Sorry for long massage but i feel involved at TL story and frustrated at all AAA greedy practices at games today and had to give an opinion.
following and playing and 2 different images... if you haven't hit any keys yet or gone through some alliance drama.. just wait for Global Release..there's no new servers for new players ..unless you want to be 100% no competitive then yea hop in a Korean serve and go nutts ^_^
@@ErronBarbeeYT As i said followed i didn't said anywhere didn't like it. I LOVE it actually because as long Lineage II fan I've been in not 1 alliance drama but thousends and i love the drama and everything about the game as features becouse it gives you freedom of choice and not mindless dungeon expiriance(don't mind it but open world with pvp everywhere is way more fun and still TL have best of both). My post was more like to say that all the AAA titles that are released are half-assed games that are not even ready for release and still want your money and that's not OK. My opinion it is that TL its just feature-ready and concept-ready for full game release and deserve money just not the way they want to get them becouse they will alienate the ppl and will be a flop. TL deserve more appriciation than a huge chunk of new mmo's that are actually half-assed made MSO(massive singleplayer games) and had to just be move to different section altogether.
@@risunapple105 Right... But you can't tell me you think Amazon is going to be better about monetizing power gains. Amazon is not exactly some bastion of fair play.
Usually Korean MMOS do not live that long, right? Tera I miss so much. The best combat system and dungeon system any mmo ever had. Sadly, Tera had nothing else 🙁
Idk abt that. Bdo been going for 11-12 years now. Lost ark for abt 8-9yrs. Not long compared to WoW but tbh anything over 4-5 years i consider quite a lengthy success
Hey @DeityVengy , weird yo see you here haha (maybe not), i miss your videos of nw, sadly the game is buried 3 meters down the ground. Hope you are ok, give us some more crazy remixes! Greetings from Chile
This is why no other MMORPGs can interest me besides Guild Wars 2. GW2 Is just awesome due to the fact that it has no gear grind. Play now, get gears, and even you take a break for years, you can come back just as strong and relevant as the day you left.
I quit playing lost ark because of the boting, I found myself having to wait in queue just to play because the servers where full of bots... So I think i'll just pass on this game too.
I noticed you showed Kanon in your video and he has a video speaking about the pay to win in Throne & Liberty, and it’s fair to point out his guild is free to play but dominating his server. The pay to win might not play as much of a factor as people believe
If you played in the KR servers, his clan and alliance was not f2p lol, his clap and the MP/HP alliance were massive whales and also botters, along with the blue alliance. Don't take Kanons words at face value, the guy was promoting Lost ark as well until that went sideways
So, the game is exactly what everyone thought it would be the minute it was announced? I don't know why anyone gets their hopes up for new MMOs anymore.
@@RAWsassin You mean someone who's pointing out the same thing as half of the comments point out? Honestly, anyone who DIDN'T see it coming either discovered Korean MMOs last week, or is completely unable to recognize patterns and cycles.
@@Dehrild played lineage 2 for 20 years I don’t know what u talking about. Aion, bdo, lost ark, blade and soul.. I could keep going. All those are Korean MMORPGs that shit on any western mmo
Idk what to feel about that daily dungeon run limit. How long does a run usually take? How many rewards do you get per run? Right now, it seems like the limit is just there to drive sales and not much else.
most likely trading in general is locked behind p2w... as in you cant trade at all without paying...thats how most p2w games do it so you have to pay to even be able to trade.
I think tou can post items to sell for lucent, after all the items in the auction house come from players that farm the items. So my expectation is that even as a F2P player you may still make some cash to spend where needed.
@@grothaal thats exactly how it is. I played in Korea and earned a lot of lucent just selling my loot and then just bought what I need. P2W in this game is like 3/10.
I played the global beta for a solid week, it was NDA so Im not gonna say much, but what I will say is if Amazon doesn't change anything with the f2p/p2w system f2p players can most definitely stay competitive against p2w players. The drawback is if you're gonna be f2p you're going to have to invest a lot more time into the game.
Shocked I say, shocked! Who would've thought, heavy monetization in a korean mmo... Let it flop, people don't want this kind of crap crammed into their games. When they learn their lesson and actually start listening to their customers they'll get a successful game.
Lol what game are u talking about? Do you even know anything about this game? I play this game. Its not even close to p2w. Stop the delusional internet copy paste.
How is this game p2w, just make alts and you don't have to spend money on convience items like the extra 5 dim tokens a day make 3 alts you get 900 dims a day... lucent is account shared. These whiny ass children, if you can't afford 10 xtra dollars a month you shouldn't be sitting in front of a computer playing games....
dude, what are you taling about...the game is a flop in Korrea exactly BECAUSe it is not grindy enough for them, and NOT p2w enough . Since the betas and also after release actually, they made the grind easier, and the game is "light" p2w anyway, in comparison to other titles of the genre ! So get your facts straight before you judge.
Lol this mmo killed wow for so many. Who the fuck would pay monthly to play that shit when a game like TL is f2p and not even p2w. People are delusional thanks to youtubers
@@RAWsassin Wow is still the mmo with the biggest community so I don't think it's dead even if I have not played since the first year of Cata when I got bored of the genre either way it's not dead but the genre is dying!
@@jorgealonso9792 I don't really feel that the genre is dying, but i do feel, just like with the strategy genre we get too many games that heavily miss the mark, and at some point ppl will be done with them. This happened with strategy games. We had a lot of good ones, but the big companies started to change the formulas, witch nobody wanted, and eventually ppl stop bothering with them. Nowadays we do get a decent amount of strategy games, but they are mostly indie games, and they have become a lot more niche then back then, so it's more a hit or miss of what ppl like. Also some companies refuse to make new entries in certain franchises (like Warcraft and StarCraft). I also feel this is about to happen with the live-service model. I think this will be the first to fall, especially since companies think this is the best invention ever (since it brings them lots of money), but if all we are getting is crap, then eventually ppl will stop buy/play them.
First of all great video! Bot wise, they saw what happened in Lineage2 so this is where they originally added Auto Farm as they couldn't fight of bots properly (Essence Chronicle)...so this is why they considered "Astral hunting" as a normal thing so you can expect that in some distant future for "Astral farming" to be implemented back. Unless they actually put effort into anti cheat that will block macros, clickers not just 3rd party software's like Adrenaline, L2tower, L2walker, Zranger etc...
I never understood how no one has thought of having the autoplay and p2w on seperate servers with no transfers to non p2w servers. They could have the non p2w servers pay once with optional subscriptions or something.
@@abdelrahmanesam6625 I was just saying these types of games in general. I did not say it did now, but it originally did until the backlash. Why so butt hurt?
@dewilton7712 that dude is nuts. The game is massively p2w and still feels like it was designed for autofarm. Knowing NC soft they will bring autofarm back soon anyway, the game is on life support.
As soon as I saw the current director left and the new said mobile is back on the table, im just sticking with BDO. Especially if the Heidel Ball has some good stuff announced.
@@gamingtemplar9893 it's not the same thing at all.... BDO Mobile and BDO are completely separate games with no cross pollination. T&L was originally a mobile game first PC MMO second with cross play. That is until the director that just left made the decision to focus on the PC aspect.
He gets paid to say these things. His job now is to speak well about the changes they made and with a bait title to say that he is worried but it is all a lie. The company pays thousands of dollars to many content creators to say these types of things, so nothing surprises you.
@@elbagina1017 Wow, you obviously didn't watch anything other than the first few minutes where he said the initial launch went OK, because the rest of video was him talking about (1) how badly P2W it is, (2) the serious botting problem (3) how the game is grossly financially underperforming (4) literally saying the only way it will be successful in the global release is to kill the P2W nonsense and overhaul the monetization completely. Doesn't really make sense for the company to pay him to say any of that.
@@xelnia2383 I don't know how up to date is the video tho since part of the issues he brought up about bot has been getting addressed and greatly decreased but he didn't mention anything about it. It's not 100% bot free but it's not this serious, huge problem that made it out to be. The P2w will never go away because NC wants those bills and Lucent Market makes absolutely no sense if bots were their excuse to introduce such system since they working on removing them.
If you had any hopes for Throne & Liberty to begin with, then I have a particular bridge in Baltimore to sell you. Yet another pay 2 win korean endless grind.
Biggest concern: Big guilds. The bonuses that come with a max guild make it impossible for small guilds to survive/compete. Second biggest concern: Forced PVP for zones/world bosses, etc. It's not a popular mechanic globally. If that didn't work in Korea, it seems like a huge red flag against suddenly being financially viable globally.
Botting problems P2W with the use of auction house Amazon as a publisher Oh boy, am I having flashbacks to Lost Ark. Some great suggestions there to make the game better, but many of them would cut in to the game revenue. As for the guild ranking thing, maybe just limit activity to a max of 2h/day per member for the full bonus.
I wouldn't mind a game to have restrictions in its f2p experience and paying a subscription would lift all these limitations. This is a fine business model to me as the f2p version of the game would act as a demo. From what you say it sounds like that's what's happening here with the subscription they added recently. However the devs should focus on delivering a great "paid" experience then add these restrictions for the f2p players. But the game would have to be designed and marketed around this business model from the beginning, which probably didn't happen here
Remember everyone, this is only disappointing if you bought into any kind of hype for the game. Instead of creating unrealistic expectations, just wait until the product/game launches and judge it for what it is at that time. You should NEVER buy into something (even mentally) until that something proves its worth to you.
Guild Wars 2 , I played it and actually I enjoy it a lot but the game is dated that I couldnt get into it by myself. I honestly met a couple good people in the game too. Taught me the basic and showed me what to do the time I was playing it. Its not a bad game and the community is welcoming. Time gated, pay 2 win, running daily and DG? , Seems like its Lost Ark all over again.
Amazon will not release Throne & Liberty this year because it would completely kill the new world, but another game will be released in the new world this year that will attract a lot of players due to the combat system, which is unique and the qunifall will also have it.
I loved this game so much and met great people as well. However, I just don't have enough time to spend on it. It was interesting to see that I still have a passion for gaming, but my sleep cycle has changed, and I don't even want to watch Twitch or RU-vid anymore but keep playing. I was grinding my life into it...
This video is out dated. TL's this condition was 4 month ago. TL in June state #1 - 0 bots literally 0 #2 Even with ultra max geared P2w player cant kill 1vs10 lol. Regular 2 players can shit out 1 full max geared p2w player. #3 You cant p2w skill enchants #4 There added T2 Dungeons which requires you to actually play. #5 changed the guild system. #6 that blessing is subscription type of item around 8$ for 21 days . How is it pay to win? If I can just sell items to get the premium currency. If the premium currency is transferable, like warframe a savy merchant will know, you never have to spend a dime to get rich. Premium currency being the basis of the economy means it's not pay to win at all. Any player can obtain premium currency via the auction house.

@@aaronleader3046 you are wrong in so many aspects, yes you can buy gems to craft skill books so what? what about the other materials? and if you want to buy gems its really expensive to max out a full tree of a weapon. i played the Kr version of TL, It was fun Until they released the T2 gear, and from there NCsoft is fucking up the Development of the game, without knowing what kind of direction they want to go, Ive seen smallscale and Mass PVP, Guild diplomacy, Alliances, Won Sieges and most of the content, But stopped playing and im not sure if i want to come back when Global Releases, Unless NcSoft makes a 360 into a game actual worth playing This is from a player that has seen about a 800h of gameplay, If not more.
So basically nothing to worry about for most people who will jump in for few weeks, have fun doing what they want to do, and then move to next online game, hoping to visit T&L next year with some bigger update/expansion
I don’t actually care when James sells boosters that allow you to speed up your progression but when the game then put in time gating or our pay wall where you can’t progress without paying money, that’s a dealbreaker for me so liberty is never going to be my game if that’s the monetization method they use in the states when they release it. I was all looking forward to this game because it does have some innovative shit in it, but I will not, be halted by progression time dating or pay to win tactics that are just a solution to a problem they created with progression dating of some sort fuck them if you just make the progression slower and the same for everybody and then those money can buy a booster that speeds it up. I don’t have a problem with that, but if I’m playing the game and I’m not progressing because I’ve hit that progression date, then fuck them that’s a game you wanted to play like a mobile game put it on a phone I’m not gonna do that on my console or a PC
I'll play until I hit a wall. I want to experience the mechanics at least, you know? Been watching a lot of video gamey anime and Throne and Liberty is going to scratch that itch. I'm a casual player so I'm expecting to burn out before I get to a point where p2w matters.
I'm still waiting on some news for blue protocol, but I get the feeling it's gonna be sidelined to the point where it never releases in na for the sake of them messing with throne and liberty.
An eastern online game developed by a predatory company is pay to win? *Say it ain't so!* I'll still try the open beta next month and probably play at launch in September as it's free to play.
I wrote this off as soon as it launched in the state it did. Sure, it's always possible a game improves, but that's only been pulled off once in recent memory and took a substantial risk from a rather bold director. None of those things describes the moneygrubbing process that likely spit out TL.
I'm not much into mmorpgs, but why is faster progression considered p2w? Are we talking about being temporarily advantaged in pvp arenas? Or is the peak pve content so hard only whales and no-lifers can try to complete it? If I'm looking for an mmorpg to casually play and chill in, is the p2w aspect going to ruin or limit my experience?
The game was pretty good when i played it, it was actually really fun, id say the combat was a good blend of ff14 and more modern games. Its definitely not action based but it feels a lot more interesting than you'd expect As far as i know the Largest issue are the bots
there is no way i am touching this. if they release it in this state, in one month, the only ppl left on mega server will be the castle owning swiper guild. i cant understand how they can throw 10+ years of development for this.
The thing I've always found interesting is how anyone who follows this game has any level of excitement for it. Maybe it's one of those head in the sand moments where you just ignore all the bad news.
In the end as bad as it was better to have the autoplay mode in the game. I feel like there is no escape from bots. Best remedy would be subscription that is a model that only mitigates the issues and also drives players away from the game. Maybe having 2 types of servers one f2p-p2w and another sub based so people gets addicted on the f2p one and start paying on the sub version? Dont know... Things are hard for mmos nowdays.
I know this is probably drug out for content because absolutely everyone had to have seen this coming… just like first decendant, and all these other shit looking games getting coverage as hopeful even though they aren’t even close.
