Owned a Series S during Quarantine, I now own the series X but Series S did amazing for the time I had it.. playing Doom Eternal and Warzone at 120fps was such a fun experience and loved how small it was
@@enzovaneyken mainly for graphics but thats just my personal taste, i have a pc so i can notice differences. Series S is just perfect for anyone else tbh
Guys u gotta pray I get good marks in my final exams. Then my mother will buy me a xbox series s. Guys please pray I really want a series s. Then I can play gta 6 ❤❤❤
Already built I bet they Just hold back the shitbags. I recently bought series X and just days ago ps5 . I should held back longer .held back untill slim disc Xbox and slim disc playstation. Then wait for them to go on sale lol . They should release day one but they make money wait years and so on . Technology is there for Xbox pc
If they release a slim version of Series X that is just as small as the Series S, that's a day one purchase for me. I don't even care about the disc tray since I'd only want it as a secondary console for Gamepass, but I still want the most out of my games when it comes to resolution and framerate, that's why I haven't gone for the Series S yet
@@Pakitorocker yeah, I think competition from Sony is going to push them to launch a slimmer series x. This year Sony is realsing a slightly slimmer PS5 and next year a much slimmer PS5 as well as a PS5 pro. Series X will have to become smaller as well since we’re now on 3nm
Microsoft were very smart releasing this the same time as Starfield, as many people will be buying an Xbox for the first time just to play it. I think a limited edition Starfield Series S wouldn't have gone amiss, but still, the all-black version looks pretty sleek.
I must admit the black is alot cleaner. I literally just purchased the Xbox S in white yesterday from target. It came with a gilded hunter package deal (Fornite, Rocket League, & Fallguys). They should have just released both colors and offered the 1T for both. I'll be keeping a eye out if they do release the white with additianl storage. The white flows more with my work/desktop aesthetic.
CARBON BLACK! That thing is so gorgeous. SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH. Also props to XBOX for having what looks like Brail markers for the different ports at the back. Everyone deserves to game.
GOT MINE arriving today and Starfield i am so hyped for aswell and cannot wait to play it on the new upgraded series s 1TB Hyped up ain't even the word this is awesome for gaming
Oh this is actually sexy. My gaming setup is all Black. But I've never actually owned an Xbox and don't know anyone with one lol. Still, I want it somehow.
Correction: The Series S's max output is actually 4k. A small number of less-demanding games render at native 4k on the Series S. 1440p is just marketing, to highlight that the Series S is not as powerful as the Series X, but also make it clear that it's more powerful than the previous gen, which was advertised as 1080p. Sadly, most AAA games on the Series S top out at 1080p - often with internal upscaling from an even lower resolution as shown by numerous Digital Foundry analyses.
@@davidclixby5840 I like my series s, thought one bonus of the black bodel is the 1tb SSD. Otherwise I would probably just go with the white one (even though buying an expansion is so expensive)
Not even the black exterior and 500Gb extra storage can make this console worth it at this point. It was a great stopgap unit during the pandemic when stock for the X were so low, but now just save up the extra bit and get the X.
Very nice, Series S is amazingly small and fast. Now it will camouflage in a setup. Very interesting how it's more of a super dark grey but still nice. I wonder how a White Series X would look but would probably still out like a sore thumb lol
I wish they would have launched with a 1 tb. I have a series X and S and I love the S. It’s such a bargain. I really can’t tell the difference between the two when I’m playing games.
It’s truly dependent on the game. I have both and each has been trouble free. Certain games like Apex Legends play better on the Series X. Respawn confirmed it released a next-gen update that only the PS5 and Series X owners will notice. I can tell it’s brighter and the textures are cleaner on the Series X. The additional memory and specs on the Series X are only going to be beneficial in the long run. Still I love my Series S as I’ve had it longer since I couldn’t find a Series X in my area without paying a arm and a leg for it.
If they had added more vram and more storage I think it would have been a better option than the normal version since vram is the real problem with the xbox series s
i like it but the price is a no. i got the white version at the beginning of the year for 200 bucks and then got a 2TB HDD for 50 bucks. it means in total i have 2,6TB which is way more than 802GB 😂 great video mate!
Yea they have the balls to sell this for a higher price than the base model that has been around for 3 years. Plus worse that they are cheap to find. Like I bought one and then I got a second one when I bought a new phone
Broski u cant play most of good games with hdd u need to move games to play some so its so boring and time losing but for 50$ more u could save ur self a money and the time using the hdd in 2023
I already have the standard white Series S and a Series X but man this looks amazing. For some reason I also find myself playing on my Series S more than on Series X. Maybe I'll sell the X and just get that new S model instead 😂
Ive got the xbox live account for 15 years so far. Since the 360. Bought the original xbox green halo xbox at release. I have 3 Xbox one's. This new x/s console has not shown me why i should buy it. I skipped it and bought a gaming PC, and a new Zelda Oled Switch just for more variety. Done with the current new xbox. It just doesn't make it worth buying
Just bought the regular S then found out about this new model.... So yea i'm returning the original one and waiting for this black S to be shipped out to me.... =)
It's just a shame the original Series S came with such little storage. It's a pain having to constantly transfer next gen games from internal to external with only 384Gb of internal space.
I just wish the expansion cards were cheaper. I bought one and it's my favourite accessory because I have both a Series S and X, I travel a lot so I play Series S probably the most. But I can install a big chunk of my games on that expansion card and just grab it from my Series X and plug it into the Series S and my library is instantly all on Series S. The price just sucks, but if it weren't for the price it would be the best accessory. It's vital for me. I'm sucker and I might just buy the 2tb card soon because of how useful it is for me personally. But buying one of Series S alone adds too much to the price. For most at that point it's better to just get the Series X. But it makes me realise that this 1tb model Series S is not such a bad idea after all.
You can install 2 huge games and multiple small ones, not to mention Indies. In my world, that's weeks to game. You can only seriously play 2-3 games at the same time anyway.
This console being so small and now black with double the storage? This is just the way to go man. I know the Series X has better specs, but this is amazing! I don't really care about 4k so I am just in love with this 🥰❤️ (Curious how they made a new shade of black instead of just using the one they had from the Series X but ok 😶)
I had the OG Series S as I originally couldn’t find a Series X locally and honestly loved everything about it other than the lack of storage. This Carbon Black model is what should have been released originally. If you are going all digital then give more storage than 512gb. However now having a Series X, the power difference between the two is noticeable and I couldn’t go back to the S. Still my kids love it
Well I already have a PS5 so I’m only getting an S just to be able to unlock every game. I wanna play games like Forza, Microsoft flight simulator (the main reason I’m getting it), halo and the OG GTA 4.
@@KestlerTV lol what no u don’t lmao and u don’t need insane graphics either that’s just mostly crap. I got a HP TG-01 with a ryzen 5 5600g cpu and a Radeon rx 5500 gpu, all for $500. It can run any game u want lol, people fail to realize in PC you can adjust anything. If it’s an intensive demanding You can just downscale graphics a little yet not even visually noticeable yet very noticeable in performance gains… i don’t think you know your stuff. Or maybe it’s where u are ..
carbon black Xbox Got it on pre order already, can’t wait for it to arrive…. It looks so slick and the fact is got 1TB storage is a big benefit to people on a budget
Say what you will about either the S or X, you can't beat the obvious thought that the powers that be at MS put into the packaging. Even unboxing the thing feels special.
Got the black series s today, I'm loving it so far! For anyone asking, Buy the black rather than white. Worth the 50 extra dollars It's basically just as good as the series x.
The Game in Southampton got closed down and now they operate out of JD Sports in the back of the shop lmao its kinda tragic but with digital games starting to take over probably gonna get harder.
Some would say if they had just made the Series X both digital and with a drive it would save them money but the Series S size helps a lot with people’s gaming set up space. I gave my nephews my Series S and got a Series X but had this been out at the same time I would have gone with this one. Great informative video.
@DavAries95 The thing is, I think a lot of us are technology nerds aswell so we do enjoy seeing how small they can make it. The Series S is just so damn impressively small and stays quiet too
The "S" was about making a product that was cheap as possible to sell to people who just didn't have the money for the Series X. Offering an "X" with both a BD player and without would then have a really cluttered lineup. It made sense to just have the cheapest product that made sense and then the one with all the features. I absolutely DO expect them to come out with a new XBox Series X where the BluRay drive is removed though... not due to price but simply because console makers want to get rid of games on disc. Microsoft got attacked when they tried the first time with the XBox One so the way to do it now is to just offer a CHOICE and then just phase things out more gradually.
looks amazing but i would pick it up if they made it the new 300 dollar option. 350 is too much when the white goes on sale frequently and so does the 1tb expansion, sometimes less than 350 for BOTH.
If one owns a PS5 already, the Series S is the best value console in the market. If one owns a Series X, I still feel the same. If you want to take your Xbox games around on vacations or to a friend or family member's place, it's just easier with the slim build. The 1TB SSD model is clearly the way to go right now. I do wish they release a white 1TB model, and remove the 512gb.
@@dublinairportplanes I have PS5 and standard plates look bad, i went with black/red ones from D-brand, standard controller is fine but not better than the DS Edge.
@@dublinairportplanesThe Xbox in general is generic looking but offers more then PlayStation such as game pass and backwards compatibility. They're both the same thing in the end so...
This little machine is my most played. I have a series X and playstation five, yet this little machine is what I play the most, apex legends and Forza horizon five on a 1080p 120hrz monitor. This release makes me want to buy another unit.
I swear like the way you script your videos is really impressive. I'm trying to get better so thanks for being a source of inspo from your content. Can't wait to see what's next!
I just received mine yesterday. My first Xbox after being a longtime Playstation player. Also, my first current gen model. I bought it as it was a great price and because I haven't bought a physical copy of a game in about 5 years so being able to stream or download suits me perfectly. Also, I am not too concerned about the 4k resolution as I don't have a 4k TV where I play this and I still think games look great on the PS4 so it was a no brainer for me. I only waited as I really dislike white consoles as they do not match with my system set up.
I Have Xbox Series S (Original) And It Honestly Runs Really Great Making It The Best Console I Have Ever Owned My Xbox Goes Up To 4K (Upscaled) 120Fps And Looks Really Crisp Specially On Forza Horizon 5 !!
I love my Series S. I also have a Series X but I have to travel often so I mostly play on Series S, it fits into a small backpack and most TVs I have access to are 1080p. Back home on my 4K TV 90% of games are incredibly close to how they look and run on Series X. I've fallen in love with it. On top of everything you mentioned one of my favourite things about it is the backwards compatibility. I'm playing Fallout 3 and New Vegas again, and it's amazing to play them in 60fps and Fallout 3 runs in 1440p native even on Series S! ... It's more interesting to me and fun to follow how well Series S runs games. I had a similar fascination with Switch. I love the underdog. I want to get a new storage card but I'm tempted to get a second Series S 1tb model just for fun. I'll probably end up getting the card but it's very tempting, love the new colour and very cool to learn that it's actually not exactly the same colour as Series X.
I specifically got a series s over a ps5 due to the fact i could play F3 and NV with all the DLC properly. Always been a playstation player since the ps2 days but PS now was crap, and the PS5 was too hard to find plus the price. Ended up buying a series s and an elite controller. Boss decision.
@Cosmic-Wanderer how is ps crap now? More exclusive games whilst Ms just kept making different controllers lmao. I own both system and play both but in no way is ps crap
honestly i think they shoulda have went with 2 color options, all white, and then the carbon black. I think that they would make hella sales off of that. Love your videos man! Wondering if you would do a starfield review?
I don’t get how this channel doesn’t have at least 5 million subscribers. The quality of these videos are seriously great. Your voice is so nice to listen to. Keep on the grind❤
I am so glad that Xbox has added more storage space on the Series S, which means more and upcoming games can be downloaded. Carbon Black Xbox🖤Enjoyed the video so far
This comes at the worst possible time, right after Baldurs Gate 3 will launch on Series X with more features than Series S despite Xbox promising feature parity. The sad truth is, if you buy this the next few years will be filled with games running far better, at higher resolutions and FPS, and with more features on every other current gen console.
5:11 Those 296gb would've perfectly fit on the white Series S and you'd still have ~100gb left, so yeah, great point for the new black one 👏😁 The actual restricting resource in gaming (or in life general) is time, not harddrive-space and what you can install with ~400gb SSD is more than enough.
Hint with game pass. I have the series S but I usually use my PS5. With my series S I was using Game Pass Ultimate paying £10.99 a month and then realised they’re was a standard game pass for £8.99 for console. Use the standard if you don’t care for playing online with people and just want to play single player games. Will save a little bit :) Disclaimer: The Ultimate pass also gives the subscription to EA and Ubisoft membership.
Technically, you are losing out: when compared to the Series X, there are cases of lesser performance, especially resolution, and a lack of split-screen multi-player in Baldur's Gate 3 (I believe).
