Love seeing the fabulous American birds. Funny how excited you get about European waifs and strays, as we do here when your birds come to us. By the way Red-flanked Bluetail is not at all common in Britain. We might get 1 or 2 per year. Have a great year. Happy birding.
Great start and good luck for the coming year, I'm pretty confident you'll reach your target and wouldn't be surprised if you pass 250! On a side note if you're going to for the Northern waterthrush in Essex, wrap up warm as you could be waiting for a long time as it is a very very elusive bird!
You totally cracked me up asking 'The question' catching me out from the off! Cheeky waxwing on the way home and a lovely selection of birds along the way. I only managed a couple of hours here on the Essex coast on my Jan 1st, managing 46 species, but not videoing or photographing them as you are. My best sightings were a couple of red throated divers, eight fieldfare, c80 stock doves and my bird of the day/month/year, a ring tailed hen harrier. I have every confidence in you beating your target of 240! I can't wait to see what you encounter next....Firecrest?? Fingers crossed!
