My dad worked at BN, he used to watch runaway train all the time....he woulda loved to see your modeled engines. ex BN 7014 my dad had on trains in 1992...somewhere I still have his paperwork on train make up.
Nice video Dan. Awesome locomotive collection you have got. It was nice to see some of your older locos too. Looking forward to the new loco projects you have for 2024. - Nicholas.
What a great fleet of locomotives. You are definitely a Master Model Railroader. Thanks for sharing your locomotive collection. Always looking forward to your next videos. Thanks again and Happy New Year
Whoa! Hold on just a second there bud. The acting in _Runaway Train_ was pretty dam good from top to bottom. Jon Voight and Eric Roberts were both nominated, Voight especially was a freaking tour de force. And the action sequences were pretty damn rad!
Such a great roster. I'm a sucker for some leasers too... Half the reason I model my prototype in the era that I do is just for a pair of CEFX SD40M-2s lol.
I’m very satisfied. Love the Runaway Train builds. I’d buy it off you if I could afford that work of art. I was cracking up when you said “I need these engines” I try to tell my wife the same but she’s not having it.
I have vague memories of many lease engines after the split in the early 2000s, very nostalgic paint schemes here. Though I remember a lot of green and silver FURX units.
Happy new year Dan.Very nice collection.Your skill is amazing.Like you I like the leasers and the rent a wrecks.Looking forward to the 2024 videos from you.
Very nice job Dan! I always love a good roster video, and this one is fantastic. I remember your video on the Runaway Train GP40-2 was how I found your channel and I fell in love with the amazing job you did. Your entire collection is superb, some of the best weathering and detailing work I've ever seen, definitely a roster to be proud of.
Hi Dan, thanks for posting this video. I found it quite fascinating - not just the Models themselves, but the way in which you were able to talk about them. I'm in the UK and have acquired mostly Athearn B/Box Locos and Stock, including Roundhouse. I'm intending to get to work on them all, albeit importing the Detail Parts is a bit of a Handicap, but I'm looking forward to watching your Vids, past and future to learn from. Happy New Year and please keep posting.
Nice collection! I do have one of the Athearn UP gp40's same number as your 1381 I bought on a whim to repaint back into SP colors as I'm a SP modeler.I found that it has alot of additional stuff on it that UP added I'm not so sure I want to remove now. I almost had it sold on facebook but didnt agree on price. Your csx 8888 really stands out to me, I'm probably going to model one up at some point in the future. The runaway train units are cool also. I remember seeing that movie in the theater back in the day. I was dissapointed waiting on the trainwreck at the end which never happened .Oh well, lots of good units, nice work keep it up!!!
This is just a suggestion if you like you can make the Union Pacific dash-9 #9646 into a dash9 rebuild. Union Pacific is rebuilding their dash-9s. There still in the 96 series you’ll have to just replace the hvac unit with an inverter cabinet.
man the runaway train locomotives were made so good you should try to make the leading locomotive without the wreckage (unless you can just take it off)
Awesome video. I actually have the same UP 4972 you have but it isnt patched. I have weathered it and also modified it with a K5LA horn. Awesome collection
I really like the look of the couplers without the UGLY trip pin. seems so unnatural. I think Kadee* could release a scale-size coupler without them and people would purchase them. I imagine it would be easy. Less a part; no problem. Seargent* proved that it could be done; however, IO they went beyond the necessary and complicated them in terms of assembly... but they did work.
This is what I've to see, engines. Engine fleets; however I really am against weathering my fleet. I think it takes away from the beauty of the locks. I also would rather see a layout tour prior to watching trains running around so you get a better overall view of what is modeled.
Have you ever tried having the cab or hood doors open ? Looking to model one with hood doors etc open . Got some cannon cabs and hood doors but never attempted this . Have a happy new year and thanks for all the great vids !
Dan..very impressive modeling and narrating the history of the engine..just found you so as somebody else suggested do you have a email contact..looks like sound is not being purchased in the boxed models ..just DC running?
Do you bend your own hand rails? Where do you source your stanchions and chains for the end handrails? Excellent work as always! A huge inspiration for my own weathering and detailing desires!
