The new logo just looks off-balance. The new blonde hair, however, looks fabulous.

As a graphic design major in college BOOO ME HATE NEW LOGO 😡😡👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾 but being serious if they made it not look like it was about to fall over it could work and im definitely more fond of the second font being used for everything,, the multiple fonts being used at once took at least a couple years off my life

The idea of changing such an iconic logo designed by possibly the greatest graphic designer of the 20th century is actually insane lol. I don't know what the hiring process was like but it seems like they picked a fairly unknown independent designer (who has some good work). When we have some of the top designers and agencies in the world who would presumably do this pro bono it doesn't make sense. I don't think the people involved understood how skilled you have to be as a designer to capture the emotion and message in such a simple design as the original.

Accurate portrayal of the deli guys at zabars lol. Re the logo, i think it would have been really cool to do a design contest open to residents of nyc (like the spider i voted sticker in ulster county). I would have loved to wear a logo created by someone who lives here, the actual voting process could have been a good 'community building' activity, and the art would have probably more accurately reflected why nyc is special. The new logo's 3D heart emoji is so tired and cheesy, and the posters mostly look like they're made for/by rich transplants.

I know this video is from 3 months ago but I know why there's a couple of spaces in front of "renaissance" at 4:48. It's because whoever typed this up had to Google how to spell renaissance and then they copied and pasted it into Gmail which has this horribly annoying feature where it adds a couple of extra spaces whenever you copy and paste into the body of an email.

Huh, what about the “I love LA” campaign? How the hell did NYC try to sue SNL when Los Angeles did basically the same concept with the same logo and a song? Did the LA campaign come first? If it did, New York would have a copyright claim to bring against SNL. But if it didn’t, then it seems like New York would have a much stronger case against Los Angeles than they had against SNL.
