LUIS GIL is back.

Nervous about the starting pitching, but I could also see it being very good even as is if Rodon is Rodon, Cortes is healthy and Stroman has a solid year. Bullpen I never worry about. People.can say all they want about Cashman, but nobody can deny he builds a great bullpen year in, year out. Offensively, I see us as one of the top teams even if Rizzo, DJ and Stanton all repeat last year. And if we get the Rizzo of the first month plus of 2023 and an average around .275 from DJ, our 1-5 or 6 will be loaded. When Dominguez is back, I see the lineup eventually being. DJ Soto Judge Dominguez Torres Rizzo Stanton Wells Volpe Sometimes having Verdugo in rather than Stanton so Judge gets some DH ABs. And with him, you could lead him off, or put him in the bottom third to help tumors it over. I hope eventually Volpe improves to the point he can be lead off. Because I want to see pitchers deal with situations like Volpe getting on base with one out and stealing second with Soto on deck and Judge in the hole. Do you walk Soto to set up a double play and then pitch to Judge? Pitch to Soto with a speedster in scoring position? Pitch around both and load the bases for Dominguez? This lineup can be really problematic for pitching staffs. Only time you've got R/R is the nine hole and leadoff. Dominguez is a switch hitter so that's a bonus. I would like the team to make a trade for one reliever and one starter. I think Cleveland is the perfect team and Bieber and Karinchak are the two ideal guys. Bieber is a mid rotation guy at worst and an ace at best, and his best years came with Matt Blake coaching him. Karinchak is a very good relief pitcher with great K rates and I believe could become an elite reliever with us. Trade Simulator isn't perfect, but it is a pretty decent tool, and they have the combined value at around 9 mil. Bieber has one year left and Karinchak has 3. I would overpay a bit to get the deal done. I might offer Peraza and see if they accept. Bieber gives us a guy we can pitch anywhere from 2 down depending on our needs. And I think a playoff rotation of Cole/Rodon/Bieber/Stroman with Cortes coming out of the pen could be pretty great.

I wouldn’t mind if the one more pitcher is either will warren or chase Hampton if the Yankees don’t trade for a starter
