As soon as Rodon gave up the homer, I thought, "Here we go again," but he righted himself and did well from then on. Good for him and good for the Yankees.

Rodon stresses me out watchin him. Gives up first inning home runs and manages to get into terrible situations and somehow gets out of them lol.

Beating the Red Sux always takes the sting out. If the Yankees can finish higher than them in the final standings then I guess it’s the smallest of victories and shit talking tights over the winter at least.

I refuse to believe Rodon isn't good. It just seems so unlikely that the guy who, over the last 2 years, had the best fastball by run value and the lowest qualifying ERA and is suddenly a 6 ERA guy. I think he'll bounce back next year with (hopefully) a healthy offseason. Also hopefully the front office learns their lesson with trying to rush guys back from injury/not taking the injury seriously enough. Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, Nestor, and Rodon have all experienced that this year, maybe more I'm not thinking of.

I was encouraged by Rodon’s performance today - after the first pitch! Maybe there is still some fire there.

Lots of people complaining about that Rodon first, but it was improvement (again) overall.

Rodon… pitched backwards for once. Making the Fastball the secondary pitch. Common sense. Realizing everybody can hit that.. but you need to get that slider for strikes. Slider is a feel pitch. That’s how you get them off that fastball. Thats what made his fast away and up and in for strikes valuable. He needs to build off that. 9K’s one hit.. I’ll take it. Good doubleheader sweep.

Lol... Yanks finally succeeded in putting another team to sleep before they slipped into a coma first. It's like the Redsox were less interested in winning than the Yankees usually are.

They're keeping that slim window of hope alive. They can't have any losing streak. No more 3 games or 2 games. They have to go like minimum 13 - 4 to have a shot. Probably not, but it's still a chance.

I know Torres has been one of our best bats this season but my god has his fielding and base running been trash this year

Not saying it is going to happen by technically the Yankees have a chance to make the playoffs going down one path. Right now they are 73-72 and tied with the Red Sox. The Mariners and Blue Jays are tied for the last wildcard spot. With 17 games left and down 7 games to the Mariners / Blue Jays. the difference can be made up with the Yankees playing 6 of their last 17 games against the Blue Jays. Assuming 6-0 against them and at east a +1 game win differential in the remaining 11 games, the Yankees would surpass the Blue Jays. This assumes Red Sox play per usual and you would think the Yankees would eclipse them in the standings. Only remaining foe is to hope the Mariners drop the pudding and the Yankees pass them as well. We shall see how the Yankees play out these next couple games before the first round of the Blue Jays series kicks in. Will they go all in???

82-80 finish for the Yankees hopefully,, at least they could Keep keep the long winning season streak of 31 years going at least since no playoffs.

Rodon has gotten better tho. His last few starts he’s looked like the Rodon we expected. And the problem is with players like him, when things are bad they’re awful and his emotions boil into his performances. But with that said, this was known about him and I think signing him was a desperate move by the Yankees. We need to stop signing players that 1. have injury history and 2. Are emotional roller coasters. Because New York won’t help that. We need to stop pretending like these players are going to magically change and not be the player they have been there whole career. No matter what tho, there will NEVER be a worse signing than the Carl Pavano deal. Hands down worst Brian cashman move ever.

Sorry to connect and say this against Shohei. But when Judge returned, the Yankees though already a bit late, has somehow rebounded. TWP wasn't able to carry his team competitively despite his then healthy status. Judge really deserves his MVP last year.
