Thanks to all for your interest in this video. Thanks to Samurai BeastWarrior for the recommendation. CORRECTION: Around the 4:30 mark, I just want to point out that Paul O'Neill is from nearby Columbus, Ohio and not Cincinnati, Ohio. However, the Reds were his favorite team growing up as a Joel Sherman article mentioned that O"Neill said, "there is just so much pressure when you play at home (in Cincinnati).” Moreover, this video is mostly about how the Yankees built up their dynasty as there wasn't enough time to mention numerous names like Joe Torre, Cecil Fielder, Darryl Strawberry, Scott Brosius and others. But thank you so much for your interest in this video. Lastly, did the way how the economics worked in MLB make you dislike baseball and the Yankees?

Being From New York and being born in the early 90s, The 90s Yankees success as a Young Kid is what made me like Baseball and obviously the Yankees. Good Times! Unlike The Other Sport teams in town, the Yankees of that era were truly dominant. Jeter My favorite player of all time. As a sport fan, its a great feeling when even if it looks like your going to lose, your not going to. Only 90s Bulls fans, Early 2000s Lakers Fans, Tom Brady Era Patriots Fans and Curry Dubs understand this feeling. Mystique and Aura!😎

Awesome comment. I really enjoyed reading it. I would also like to thank you so much for being a subscriber. Yes, the Yankees annoyed me but it's great hearing comments from a great sports fan like yourself about a team that made you like baseball. It's great to hear the point of view from great Yankees fans like yourself. Enjoy this huge lead the Yankees have built up and to all Yankees fans, enjoy the postseason.

Before the Yankees Dynasty,Giants And Rangers Become World Champions IN early 90s although Knicks Lost in 7 against Rockets,Overall 90s was Great For New York🗽

In the big picture, yes - It was an entertaining year for New York fans except if you were a Mets fan in the early '90s. I don't know how much the Devils count as their success also began in the '90s, but the '90s was a good decade to be a NY fan. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the rest of your day.

Another great stuff. I was born in 94. I lived in the bronx during the Yankees dynasty during the late90s-2000. It was Also the same time that the Knicks were relevant during than span. Anyway, can you do the Knicks of the 1990s? Enjoy your day bro. That's a early birthday present for me. My birthday is tomorrow 👍🏿

Emmanuel, my greatest birthday wishes to you. Have a great one. You're the 3rd person to recommend to the Knicks in the '90s. It looks like I have to do that but I think I will get started on it in November or so when the Bball season kind of starts. But I think it's a video I have to do. You too, also enjoy the rest of your day - and much love to the Bronx.

Definitely agree about the Yankees and how they were able to dominate mlb in the late 90s. It made glad that the nfl would never let an owner do something similar(namely Jerry Jones lol). But the Yankees Definitely had a great second half of the decade.

Big Pasty. How's your summer going? I like the NFL model, but obviously nowadays, you really need a QB. Gone are the days of running the ball and playing physical defense. I'm not a fan of Jerry Jones at all, I might do a video on it, but the main reason is that he was the main figure in relocating the Chargers and Rams. I forgot and not sure about his role in the Raiders moving. Sorry, you said Jerry Jones and I had to mention why I'm not a fan of his. But anyways, enough of Jerry Jones, what are you looking forward to this football season?

You should do one on the 1997 "Freak Show" Pittsburgh Pirates. 8 million dollar payroll and were in the division race albeit thanks to a mediocre division until the last week of the season.

Thank you so much for the comment and your time watching the video. Sean, it's been a topic that I've been wanting to do a video on for a long time. Why I haven't done it, I don't know. But I never heard that term of them being called "Freak Show", thanks for mentioning it. But that team's payroll was less than what Albert Belle was making for the White Sox in 1997. I was an Astros fan at the time and I was getting nervous about PIT catching up to them. I don't know why, but for some reason, Kevin Elster was the player on that team I remember most even though he only played 39 games that season. Maybe because he was their highest paid player or something like that. I remember FOX pregame show did a segment about how the starting staff used coupons to go out to eat. But I have to do the '97 Pirates next baseball season. It will be a must do. Thank you so much.

My Braves got 'em in '95!!
@90sSportsNostalgia
@90sSportsNostalgia 2 года назад
I thought the Braves were gonna repeat after they beat CLE. They had a 2 games to 0 lead on NY and then NY won 4 straight to take the WS. The most memorable hit was when Leyritz hit a 3-run HR to tie it up in Game 3. I was somewhat shocked when NYY beat ATL in '96. It seemed like Andruw Jones came out of nowhere for the Braves. But for the 1999 WS, I had no desire to watch it because ATL and NY were so good. I hope your Braves continue success. Enjoy the rest of the MLB season. Should be fun with ATL and the Mets. Thank you so much for commenting and watching the video. I appreciate it so much.

My first Yankees memory was when Billy Martin was managing the Yankees in the 1988, he came out to pull the pitcher and I remember my dad saying "that's the meanest man in baseball." It was the A's and Blue Jays in the late 80s and early 90s, but then it was all New York. I'm sure the late '90s was a great time for you. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the rest of the season and that huge Yankees lead in the AL East.

@@90sSportsNostalgia I started liking the Yankees because they were always the villain team in all of the baseball movies,,Ricky Henderson, Mattingly,Winfield,Steve Howe,Barfield,Roberto Kelly,Randolph,,, I got the white Yankees stater jacket in 89,I was going crazy in 96 after seeing live at the Kingdome Edgar Martinez drive in Griffey in the ALDS in 95,,it sucked Donny Baseball retired before 96 and never got a ring...

I can't believe you heard of Brien Taylor. My uncle was a huge Yankee fan always told me about this fire baller they had coming up who was the next big thing. It never worked out for him. I assume u been watching the Jeter doc and that has something to do with the timing on this one?
@90sSportsNostalgia
@90sSportsNostalgia 2 года назад
Tony, awesome to hear from you again. Here's how I heard of Brien Taylor (I was going to put this in the video but I think it's not that interesting): In the early '90s, I was a huge baseball card collector and the magazine Beckett had their top 20 players to collect. And I remember Kevin Maas and Brien Taylor being part of the top 20 at one point. Then I think I was reading Taylor's stats and reading articles or something on him and that's how I found out more about him. I have not been watching the doc. The Yankees in the '90s video was a recommendation that it took me some time to get to. How do you like the Jeter documentary? Maybe I will get to it, but one reason I couldn't watch Yankees baseball especially on FOX, was because after every pitch, it seemed like they needed the Jeter-Cam and had to show Jeter after every pitch (I'm exaggerating that a bit). But anyways, I saw too much of Jeter back then and got annoyed (not his fault) but maybe so much time has passed and I should watch that documentary. But as always, thank you everything.

The only sports team that had a greater run than those Yankees were the early 80's Islanders with 19 straight playoff series won in a row. Drives Rangers fans nuts right up to the present.

Patriots dynasty is more impressive considering there’s a salary cap and constant rules changing geared toward the offense which helped them but they were also winning before that happened. Both great teams and I hate them both . Definitely hate those patriots teams probably more than anything there is so I’m not biased at all. Every Pats fan I’ve known has been a legit fan. But I’ve met so called Yankees fans that don’t know who’s in their division and immediately go with the well we won more World Series than your team argument which is kinda weak.

@@bg_7_7 But I was talking about the NYI Islanders more than the Yankees, who I've seen win seven times. It's been awhile though. I like the Pats because as a giants fan I have love for Belicheck.
