Two years later and I want to say thank you for this! As a small channel, it's little things like this that help me understand and grow and let the viewer pick and choose the stories

The purpose of my channel is to help me grieve my son and mom through Art plants and flowers. However, I feel like my channel doesn't have much focus yet because I added other topics. Now I am going to start focusing on grieving through art plants and flowers. With time I would like to start my own non-profit organization that would provide support groups and creative ways to grieve any loss....
@@MaxwellChan0 hi I just checked out your you tube channel and subscribed. You seem to be a pro. I need lots of help w technology so I will be watching.
I started my RU-vid channel in April 2024. I knew nothing about what to do or how to get started! It turns out that EVERY QUESTION I HAD ALONG THE WAY WAS ANSWERED BY THIS GUY RIGHT HERE! If you are new to RU-vid creation, you can't go wrong with Think Media, and Nolan in particular! I am so grateful to Nolan and so appreciate the work he has done. These videos are short, to the point, and packed with the essential information you need to know! I now have 42 videos posted, and my channel is growing like a weed! I COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT NOLAN, HIS TEAM, AND HIS CHANNEL! I really appreciate this very much! All of my videos will have chapters! You gotta just press record!
Your tutorial on the time codes went straight to what mattered and explained how to do it clearly and concisely without a lot of blather or detours. Great job!!!
We are both in our 80's and may be the oldest new RU-vidrs around! Thank you so much for all your sage advice. You are a key person in making our new channel a success!

I'm a teacher and this will be super helpful so my students can study from my video classes without watching the entire lesson. Only what they need for the homework or the exam. Thank you so much!
I just started my first RU-vid channel about a month ago and its all about my love of fragrance! Your channel has been such a great resource in my learning!
Omg,I never knew this,am happy I clicked,i will use this in my next video. Thanks thinkmedia for always updating us with relevant information on RU-vid.
Thank you so much! I am teaching French to German speakers and I did not find any video who was so well organized and showed so precious tips and tricks
My RU-vid channel is a place where romance readers and authors connect to discuss topics and issues relevant to romance. Thanks for this great tutorial, Nolan! So simple, yet I had no idea how to do this.
I love your educational videos. I don't know if you are or were a teacher, but you present the information thoroughly, but simplistic enough for people to understand. Thank you.
Thank you, just what I needed. I want to add chapters/time stamps for my on going fairy garden . That way people that have already seen the start can move on to the new part. Great job!
This was wildly helpful; thank you! I've just started with my channel on the Enneagram & Coaching tools, so every little tidbit that Think Media shares is a lifeline for me! You folks are the best!
LOVE THINK MEDIA! Thank you for all you do! Our channel is about the Cosmic & Spiritual World, one skeptic, one believer! We launch tomorrow! Wish us luck. We couldn't have done it without Think Media and your tips, tools, and tutorials! YOU ROCK!
Wow! This was super helpful! Thank you so much for sharing. Timecodes have been a mystery to me and now I'm really excited to try applying them to my next video. I teach music so my students can easily jump to the measures within the piece that they want to work on instead of having to watch the entire video or writing down where they last stopped watching. Thanks again!~
At that point maybe consider splitting the videos up if they're too long. Just add them to playlists. Then again, this was 2 years ago so things have definitely changed and you might have changed how you deal with this too
@@tomsterbg8130 that's a great suggestion. I have a ten minute piece that I want to upload and I think I will break it up into 2 five minute videos 👍cheers 🙂✌️
yay thank you I'm so glad that I seen this video. I make long videos because my channel is about Recovery and Beauty. I have to talk about both so therefore they are longer but I was worried about them getting bored before getting to the part that they want to see.
FYI. The video chapters don’t always work or will suddenly stop working. I covered this issue and provided a fix in a tutorial that can be found on my channel if anyone needs or wants to watch it.
How do time codes affect view time and monetization? For example, if someone clicks the last chapter only only watches that one what will the watch time be? My Channel is all about making amazing Sweet Treats! :-)

Thank you so much for this Nolan! I loved when Tony did this for his tip of the day but he didn’t get into the specifics like you just did and you legitimately answered every question I had. You guys are great! *Question of the Day* I have a fishing channel focused on tips, tricks, guides, and reviews that are specifically for Fishing in the Northeast! Thanks again!

Is there an update? I added the 0:00 and I see the changes saved in the description box. But when I went back in to watch the vide on a laptop- the chapters are not showing on the screen?
All you need to do is : 1. Go to edit videos. (Manage videos) Go to the description, type “timechaps:” and start with your codes for example “0:00” click on it and you’ll see your time chaps.
What they don't say (and they should say it at the very beginning) is that your account have to go through the IDENTITY VERIFICATION first, otherwise the chapters won't work!
Very excellent and concise tips Nolan, thank you once again for the tips on Chapters! Couldn't figure out why we weren't getting the little denotations along the timeline that shows on the video and the 0:00 - Intro showed us why! Thanks so much to you! Our channel is a travel and geographically free lifestyle channel, showing others how to do it too (if they want to) and some parts of our videos may be more interesting to a view than others....chapters really help our viewer, thank you again! Ayr & Lori
My RU-vid channel focuses on the Private Service Industry, specifically targeting Butlers and Estate Managers, and your videos are the best tutorials! Thank you!
I am pretty new on RU-vid, and I am super thankful for explaining timestamps to me😊 My channel is about travel and hotel tours and recommendation, and this tool will be so helpful for me. Thank you 🤩
You explained the copy and pasting of the codes pretty well but you missed the editing part of creating time codes, I would appreciate if you could explain that too . Thanks.
You have to manually type them out by scrolling through your video, seeing the time, and typing it into your description box with the name of the chapter. It’s tedious
I edited my video and added these below in my video description on my phone’s YT creator app. It said saved changes. But the time stamp still did not show. Why? Content of this Video 0:00 - Introduction 0:15 - Types of Acrylic Paints 5:15 - Basic Color Palette 9:51 - Color Mixing
RU-vid place an emphasis on “watch time” amongst other things to work out how “good” your video is. I wonder if this will damage channels watch time as theres no need to watch anything you don’t want too with this in pace. Instead of watching through it, you just skip, watch and leave.
TULZ TV but I guess the dream is to be monetised? In that case you need 4000 hrs and this again would cut into that? Interesting to test. For monetisation I could just put an ad after every chapter meaning if they skip they get an ad straight away.
I did add chapters in the past and my watch time sunk. Then I deleted them and everything improved. For very little channels that are trying to grow, watch time is too important to have a possibility to rank a video and chapters kill watch time.
Thanks for the tip. My small travel video is just starting. I've already used this to add chapters to one video and I'm going back and adding them to others.
why am I not getting the breaks in the video head, like you are... I added the timestamps in the description, saved it and they all turned blue, when I click on them they take me to the specific time stamp, but I am not seeing any breaks in the video head
@@SolSymtoms same (I even checked between my two accounts; one free and one with a paid subscription...same for both, no divisions in the red scrubber bar on the video player)
@@jeffwarner2809 Have to write 0:00 at start 10 secs delay between sections idealy and it may just take time. Most important is writing a 0:00 for the start. Hope this helps
Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial!!! I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how to make timestamps show up in my video descriptions… I just needed something this simple (I don’t have time to figure out the chapters nonsense). Valuable video and information, thank you again!
Chapters (Powered by ChapterMe) - 00:00 - Intro: Add RU-vid chapters through "Edit video," using time codes in the description starting with 0;00 01:26 - Include 0;00 in time codes for clickable chapters on the RU-vid scrubber bar. 01:55 - Place time codes in the video description and it will show up in the progress bar for easy navigation. 02:54 - Improve Google Search rankings by using relevant keywords in chapter titles. 03:29 - Ensure chronological order, titles over two letters, and inform viewers about available time codes for effective use. 04:28 - Outro
It absolutely does work. You need to do it just how they show in the video. You write timezones at the start, then the times, then space, then the - then another space, then the description. In fact it works so well I'm going back and doing it with other videos.
Awesome video, and 3 years later, it still works. Those who are saying it doesn't work aren't adding the spaces and dash in between the time codes and description.
@@extrrda do just like this 0:00 - intro 2:40 - second intro You need to do the time, then a space, then a dash, then space, then description. It works every time.
I have started a Tarot card and Oracle reading RU-vid channel recently. Thank you for this helpful video, great presentation. I had no idea it was this easy! Now I can add timestamps to pick-a-card videos rather than recording 3 or 4 separately. Cheers!
Man I been struggling on how to do this. This is extremly helpful making video's on songwriting. I can't thank you enough it was a success. I'll watch the masterclass for addtional tips. muchas gracias
Thanks a ton for the insight on this! We run a Disney RU-vid channel and we are looking to expand our audience so this is a great way to start, thanks!
Can you upload the video with the chapters already in the description? Or do you have to upload first, the go back and add them? THANKS! Your channel is super helpful!
Thanks for this helpful video! My response to your question is that I'm a musician and I just passed 3,000 subs thanks to helpful channels like yours and hard work!
We're a new channel in the Motorcycle Riding segment - Husband + Wife riding race bikes on the road. This video was super helpful. Thanks for the tips. We're short on watch hours, but think we will get monetized this year (2024).
My channel is about fishing and hunting. Started recording my adventures because I wanted to keep the memories. Also, thank you for the tutorial. This helps alot! :)
