Nick aka The Fat Electrician is an Ex Army Combat Medic from Iowa who's working now as an Electrician. He focuses on stories that are true but usually fly under the radar of most people. As unbelievable as they seem they're very well researched. He also has a 2nd channel Fat Files who focuses less on Military and more on Unhinged Case Studies (Comedy gold every one of them). Great videos to check out on his main would be "Winter Soldier ODs on Meth and becomes unkillable". Aldi the greatest grocery store. There were 2 movies based on Jake McNiece that you may have seen. First was The Dirty Dozen and more recently Inglourious Bastards. One of the greatest fighting men of WWII Europe theater and Mr. McNiece is the recipient of awards such as the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Ribbon, EAME Theatre Ribbon with 4 Bronze Stars and 2 Bronze Arrowheads, Presidential Unit Citation for Normandy, for Holland and 2 for Bastogne (1 for being a Pathfinder and one because he was part of 101st AB); Bronze Star Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Infantry Badge, Jump wings with 4 Bronze Stars, Army Of Occupation Medal, Cold War Victory Medal, Overseas Service Medal, 5 hash marks left sleeve, each hash mark signifies he served all or part of six months overseas, and the Army Service Ribbon. Jake McNiece is also entitled to wear the Airborne Pathfinder Insignia and of course the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. But you do have to laugh at the Good Conduct medal.

On my last deployment with the US Army my squad was FULL of "outlaws." Except for me (SGT) and the squad leader (SSG). Ended up being one of, if not THE, best squads in my company. Of course, none of us functioned very well in other squads, but we worked great together. Multiple times, after the deployment, I had other NCOs come up to me and complain that my former soldiers were disrespectful. My answer was always the same: "That's because you are a f****ing dumba**." Learn how to treat people, and even the outcasts will perform spectacularly.

The Fat Electrician is one of my favorite RU-vidrs. Always has an amazing story about a vehicle, weapon, or person that blows your mind. I'd also recommend watching his videos to the end because he almost always adds something at the end.

I knew a few guys like this in the Navy. I wasn’t one of them. But, we all rallied around them in combat. Because, this was the guy you wanted to cover your ass in the hell of combat. The fat electrician said that the antihero was needed in war, but, not tolerated in peace. That’s not entirely true. When these guys showed up in our command, the captain would often protect them. Because he knew that he would need them when the shit would inevitably hit the fan. God bless Jake McNasty and the filthy thirteen!

I believe he was a Medic in the US Army. Many Veterans learn about the history of their Branch while theyre in training and on Active Duty. I was an MP in the Army, but I've always been fascinated with Special Operations.

I hope those men who helped defend the bridge got some kind of recognition because that was a feat. He doesn’t mention it but I do Jake received two purple hearts and at least four bronze stars as his wikipedia page say Bronze star with combat ‘v’ and three oak leaf clusters.
