If you like a&w you should try Sprecher root beer best root beer ive tasted kinda hard to get since its local to Wisconsin but I used to get some on Amazon...its expensive though
@@sportybeatle I don't even support amazon. All they did was get richer and try to destroy local businesses, just like walmart. I'll support small businesses and franchise businesses, but otherwise, no amazon or walmart for me. And unfortunately I don't know anything about any other root beer than A&W and some others like the generic brands, but when it comes to locals from around the USA, I don't. 😥
I'm just gonna let you know that this American just loves y'all to pieces. I love how much Joy and fun you have. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
You are such a fun, wholesome family, so nice to see a family on the other side of this crazy planet having so much fun with each other, interacting with us here in the US. I had a visit to Australia a number of years ago, you from NZ are so much more down to earth than Auzzies 😉. Makes me want to have a vacation there when this whole Covid stuff is over. Wish you the best for the new year. Cheers from NY.
New Zealanders seem friendlier and more down to earth than Australians. They remind me of our southerners. I would enjoy having this family over for a cookout.
I'm glad I came across your family. I love watching you. It's nice to see someone like where you live, so thank you 😊 You have a great family and hello from Ohio. 👋
During World War Two they had to root out German spies impersonating Americans using baseball trivia because their accents were so good. They should’ve just given them root beer.
Root beer, Birch beer and Sapirila are all delicious. My father loved it too, and my brothers. It is totally an American food..I like Dr. Pepper too, but don't drink anything with caffeine except black tea that doesn't bother me. I adore Snowballs, but nothing else from Hostess, their so called baked goods are awful except for Snowballs. I would not let my children eat Poptarts, they are all sugar. Yuck. I bake, and make wonderful things.
@@kioku119 Back then there were very few American men who didn’t follow baseball, even if they didn’t much like it. It was a subject for small talk like the weather. So if you were on a bus in Boston for example, the guy next to you would likely talk your ear off about how the Red Sox have been doing, how this player isn’t worth the money, and we should play this player more. But ultimately you make a very good point - if you were one of the very few American men who didn’t keep up with baseball, you may have been mistaken for a German spy.
I've just recently found your channel and have been binging videos so thank you for entertaining me while I'm cooking dinner this past week! My mother swears by Suzy Qs and vanilla ice cream so she'll be happy Sam liked them!
I would like to see you all rate your favorite Australian snacks and maybe even compare to American snacks to make it more interesting. Yeah I think that would be nice!😊👌🏾
I noticed several times the kids would look to their parents for confirmation and then often emulate their reactions. But the little boy was also true to himself a few times.
Cinnamon brown sugar pop tarts are probably my favorite, then probably wild berry, Strawberry, and Cherry. I like to microwave them then cut it length way and dip it in milk.
Twinkies are mainly grease and sugar. They pump the grease out of the sewer lift stations, it collects in little balls that get bigger and bigger until they start interfering with the float switches. It then has to be pumped out and hauled to a refinery where it's turned into pure white grease. After that they use it for countless American food products .
Yeah, Americans like pop cold as they can get it. Ever had a soda shush ? Summer favorite. However, Dr Pepper is sometimes served hot in the winter up north. I like it because if you drink it slow and it warms somewhat it still tastes good.
I was going to say the same thing. Twinkies are not even close to the original. I won’t eat them anymore. Also, they were right about all the hostess chocolate snacks being the same thing in a different form. 😂
exactly, they ruined all the cereals too, especially my favorite as a kid "Honey Smacks", cant even eat that cereal anymore. Twinkies are just not the same either
Last I had a Twinkie, it left such a yucky aftertaste. When I was a kid our school took us to the I think it was called the ITT Baking company in NYC they were the original company that made Twinkies & Wonder Bread,,,that was such a fun day! They tasted best then,,, I’m 50 now so that was probably 40 years or so ago give & take.😞🤣
Eating the chocolate and stuff before definitely affected the root beer for you, I think you’d all like it quite a lot more. Also we have root beer floats that are amazing! Root beer with a scoop of vanilla
Tootsie Rolls were invented in 1907... they are definitely an acquired taste, but those who grew up with them are... well. We are eating happy childhood memories!
Just like my family. Sometimes you scratch your head and wonder how, at times, Family can have such varied tastes. It is refreshing to see Kids interact with adults and have a good time doing so.
I forgot to mention that it’s nice to see a family...even from half a world away... coming together and having some fun with a food challenge. My family and I appreciate what y’all are doing...y’all stick together down there.
I always used to think i hated root beer because I had only ever tried Barq's or A&W. But just recently I tried Jones Soda's brand of Root Beer and turns out, I actually like SOME root beer
Seeing the family try big league chew brings back so many childhood memories playing baseball as a kid, even into highschool.. I'm happy you got to experience a part of that as well.
Normally I would say families filming there children for content is exploitive and wrong, but you guys all seem happy and I really appreciate the videos!
Exactly what I was thinking...I want to know what their jelly beans are...someone needs to send them a pack or two. If I had the money right now, I would.
I saw a video from Alaska where a bear walked into a gas station market and the first thing he/she ate was a box of Reese's peanut butter cups, wrappers and all!
something really common with snowballs is that people will either like the inside or the outside so what you do is find someone who likes what you dont like to share it with. its a little fun realtionship thing sometimes.
You guys are so much fun, this yank thinks it would be quite an experience to hang out with your naturally high-energy family! Anyway, best wishes to you folks (as if I had to tell ya, lol).
@@TheGollyLlama I think he meant after eating hot candy. I love me a good ice cold sprite with spicy savory foods. And milk with spicy candy LOL. I’m odd like that.
Growing up in my day candy tasted totally different or maybe I just had a child taste bud. Lol. The sweets I grew up on was different brands than some of these. 😊
Unfortunately those aren't original Twinkies or Snoballs. Fun fact: Snoballs were created when the US was rationing sugar, hence why it's covered in coconut as a substitute for sugar.
@@Riptionator regardless you are still wrong. Sno Balls were invented when sugar and flour rationing ended and Twinkies were originally banana cream which was changed to vanilla when bananas were rationed sugar had nothing to do with it.
When I was young we traveled east of the Mississippi River every year on vacation to visit my grandmother. And we always bought a case of Bun candy bars to take home with us. The vanilla was ok, but the best was the original flavor. Maple. You still can’t buy them in the stores here in Kansas. But you can get them if you order them online.
As an American, Twizzlers are the first thing that comes to mind when I hear non-Americans refer to our candy as plastic. I’ll reach for it (and Tootsie Rolls) only if I’m in real need of a something to bite on, and there’s nothing else.
I have to disagree, try pineapple soda and dutch chocolate ice cream. If you can't get dutch chocolate ice cream, just do any chocolate ice cream. Amazing flavor rushes. But I was very surprised by them not tasting the sour of sour patch kids. I cringe when I eat them because of the sour. Makes my body shiver.
@@buffycleaveland8116 Sounds good! I'm going to try it. My favorite ice cream - chocolate ice cream with crushed sweetened pineapple on top. Yum. Can't wait to try your suggestion. What brand soda do you use?
@@buffycleaveland8116 I also love vanilla ice cream with orange soda. Tastes like those old school creamsicle bars we had as kids. Don't have one often but have one every couple years at least. Delicious.
@@emmef7970 Yes! Love that favor too, pineapple bits? Never thought of that one, cool! Any pineapple soda works. I buy the HEB store brand. Tell me what you think after.
Anyone who likes Hostess baked snacks, has not been blessed with a good baker in their family. The packaged stuff has always been inedible to me, because good fortune put me in a family of excellent bakers! Sifting flour, double boilers for melting chocolate, cookie sheets, cup cake pans are foreign to most people under forty now.I thankGod for my generation and women who loved good quality!

I love a little of root beer, my dad always told me that i think it was his grandfather that had a cellar of rootbeer and it was just absolutely delicious. Its definitely an aquired taste.
You hit the nail on the head for American "hard" and chewy candies: a bowl of sugar with just a little flavor! I am impressed that you were able to eat the Hostess products (Twinkie, SuzyQ, HoHo, Snowball) - most Americans over the age of 18 know that long after mankind is gone from the earth, the preservatives in Hostess products will make them still look fresh & edible!
Honestly I feel like most people aren’t a huge fan of tootsie rolls either but it does bring many of us back to our childhood which is why it’s a popular named candy
I agree. I dont care for them and I've never known anyone who loves them. Not when i was a child or now as an adult. But yrs ago they were good for their time when there were much less chocolate options!!
I absolutely love your family! For the life of me I don't know how any of you didn't get sick eating all of those sweets! When I was growing up, Big League Chew was a big deal while we played kickball in the backyards!
Americans drink all pops cold , when they are warm it totally changes the tastes. Lol have you tried them cold yet? I ❤ your family and show. You are inspiring to modern families. The way you are raising your kids is the way I was raised. It really warms my heart. Atlanta, I am a huge fan . ❤ you sweetheart. Denzel you are adorable and ornery in the most wonderful way. My love to y’all.
I may have mentioned before that those snack cake items taste much better when they are hiding in your lunchbox and it’s quite awhile until you get home for dinner.
From never trying any of the snacks and didn't know most of what the snacks were, too going through all of them. That was amazing on your part, so good job. But but when you got to the hot ones that was very funny your reactions! And I really appreciate your videos!
Omg! It was so funny red hots, hot tamales, fireballs, and fire jolly ranchers are my favorites so to see them react so strongly to one red hot was hysterical, I can eat a handful at a time 🤣🤣🤣
It’s so crazy to see people that aren’t from America react to American things that are so normal to us 🤯🤯 I really enjoyed this video definitely subscribing ❤️
I spent years in China and their snack foods are definitely different than ours in the USA. They have imported Hershey's and Lays and Coke and other things (but their Cheetos aren't even cheese flavored - - they're chicken or beef flavored). But would you enjoy dried seaweed as a snack? Sweets and cakes are usually much blander (esp. any sort of muffin or cupcake). However, the longer I stayed there, the more I got used to (and enjoyed!) some of the local fare.
Red Hots and hot Tamales are my absolute favorite candy. Sugar babies are not something I ate often growing up but can say they are nothing like a jelly bean. They are just caramel.
What an adorable family. Even as a hardcore Yank from Boston I can appreciate your NZ charm. You’re casual video style make you very approachable. And you’re a good looking strapping young guy, with a supermodel looks wife and about the most precious children I’ve ever seen. Good luck with the vids et al.
Those single serving twizzlers are singularly awful. You really need to try the ones that come in the regular package. And red vines! Both are great, in their own, waxy way.
A&W is a hamburger and fries restaurant in America… their specialty is the root beer. They serve it in frosted mugs that are kept in the freezer. Or root beer float which is topped with vanilla ice cream.
It's always funny to me that so many people from NZ, Australia, and Europe always say Root beer tastes like medicine. We grew up with it, and I absolutely love it. I used to live over on a French island, and one time when I was sick, they prescribed me the medicine that tastes just like it and I was WAY too excited to take it every day.
i would love to try so many things from the US, but in germany it is hard to find all the good things. And if you can find it they are very expensive. in 2018 i visited NY and found the hot& spicey skittles.....sadly i can't get them in germany
The best way to enjoy a Chips Ahoy is with milk: Gently float the Chips Ahoy on top of your milk and watch as the milk soaks into the cookie. As the cookie breaks tension and begins to sink, catch it with a spoon and eat it. The cookie saturated with milk makes it amazing!!
LOL they took the sour candy like champs and couldn't handle cinnamon. Though we all develop tolerance to different spices. Being from Southern California I am good with Mexican or Tex-Mex spicy and I love Thai spicy but I can't handle Indian spices well.
Twinkies originally had a banana cream filling. Then, during WW2, when bananas were hard to come by, they switched to the vanilla cream filling still used today. The creator saw a billboard advertisement for twinkle toes shoes and got the idea for the name of his snack cakes.
Recommendation ; Get a fan mail address. Let is send you items to try, with a list, of what order to try them in. Twinkies... freeze them, slice them frozen, cover them with fruit and fruit/sugar syrup. ( like strawberry shortcake) and a little whipped cream.
My youngest son was like him. At Halloween his brother and sister made out as he would only eat an orange lollipop, orange popsicle or an occasional Hershey bar, meaning one or two a year. Now he is 29 and still does not eat candy but loves cheesecake.
Y’all need some Reese’s peanut butter cups, butterfingers, snickers, little debbie honey buns(microwaved), laffy taffy, Kit Kat’s, & little debbie oatmeal cream pie’s, whatchamacallits, .... just to name a few y’all forgot
That's one great thing about America, one name or word can be pronounced multiple different ways depending on what part of the country that you live in
