Wouldn’t be fighting the Australians though would we in that scenario. We would be fighting something else which goes against the concept of the video. The video is just a comparison of military capability between the U.S.A and Australia. We will never fight Australia, because we have no reason to and these are some reasons why: 1.They are our allies. 2. They haven’t shown any kind of a expansionist ideology in the government or the general populace, that would suggest we need to protect our other allies in the region from possible invasion. 3. They are still a democracy and seem to be functioning just fine. So we don’t need to liberate the country from some kind authoritarian regime. 4. They don’t have some kind of special resource the US government would be willing to invade over and likely we would just come to a trade agreement for the resource instead of through conflict. 5. We don’t need the whole country to have a presence in the region. We have other allies and which allow us to house bases in their countries and therefore subsequently provide a fairly similar strategic advantage in the region. We have a fair positive relationship with Australia which means they have allowed us to have some bases in the country. Even if our relationship with Australia deteriorated and they asked us to leave or in slightly more extreme action, expelled us from the country. I doubt we would go to war. Likely this situation would be solved diplomatically, as great many European powers would be perplexed at Australia kicking us out. We provide the most funding to NATO and those nations would likely pressure Australia to allow the US back in because our importance to the alliance. I’m not saying Australia should be pressured in that situation, the crisis would likely be very complex and hopefully cooler heads would prevail. So couldn’t I comment on situation even if I wanted to cause it doesn’t exist. So I’m not saying any of these reasons will happen or any of the possible solutions I said would be taken. I’m just saying the likelihood of conflict is very low and this just a scenario video.

@Billy Hndrsn I agree, Australia is a friend and I definitely think they understand the threat that China purposes and that would likely be a point of agreement between the US and Australia, further solidifying the bond between the countries. I would say China likely threatens our allies in Asia more than us directly. If China did do an aggressive action or invaded, it would likely be on one of our allies. That would likely drag us into conflict with China. I would say war directly on the US and on our soil is pretty unlikely and we would probably be defending an Allie from a Chinese takeover if conflict did happen.

That was a close run thing in WW2. The US was at the tips of its fingers in the battles near Australia that prevented the Japanese from landing. It's far away and in a bad neighborhood being close to Japan previously, and China presently. (Importance changed, not locations. lol) That's why the Aussies know they need some decent capability, and have more interoperability with the US than any other nation, even the UK. They even generally opt to buy American equipment, as we spend the money to develop it, develop upgrades after our own hard use en masse, and generally make the best equipment in the world. Recently announced... Australia has basically given up on their Tiger Eurocopters as being ineffective, and announced they are buying Apache attack helicopters now.

@quattrocity9620
@quattrocity9620 3 года назад
@@lawrenceshdow Well I'm not speaking on the intentions of the wars (that would be speculation), just the results. But to the point there would be many reasons to still exploit other countries for oil. It would still be cheaper to exploit existing crude oil deposits and infrastructure where labor (and land for that matter) is less than 10% of cost in US. Also, the power that comes from controlling a larger stake of any global industry (especially in other countries) is greater than being confined to domestic competition. We still import crude oil to refine in US (even though what we do now has little to do with our intentions 3 presidents ago.). The nature of capitalism would indicate any number of reasons for an oil war but I suspect it is more geopolitical and the greater boon to the US would be weakening OPEC. Anyway there is motive, but that alone doesn't necessarily mean the wars were over oil and I never said that's what they were about. Only that we have taken control of oil in other countries as a result.

On our small island, there’s: Schofield Army Pearl Harbor Navy Hickam Air Force Wheeler Air Force Fort Shaffer Army Kaneohe Marines Bellows Air Force Honolulu Coast Guard Barber’s Point Coast Guard Our 3 freeway system also terminates at military bases...it was originally designed to be able to transport vehicles from base to base. And growing up fishing meant that we’d see these massive ships every now and again...and it’s hard to comprehend just how massive they are if you’re not seeing it in person.

My very first comment on RU-vid ever (I think). I had the privilege of going to Australia twice, to work with the ADF. I was a younger person at the time, but through many people in the ADF I got to learn a lot about my brothers and sisters from “down under”. The ADF sent support for the U.S. in almost/all altercations we have been in for a long time. It doesn’t matter if it was 500 or 50 or 5. Australians were there to help, and they did. My Aussie friend told me a story about working with some U.S. troops and he said (for reasons of anonymity I will call him “Mike”). Mike: “I wish someone would pop one off on you (Aussies) just so we can come and show you we got your back. His meaning was to try and show our brothers and sisters we would help you, just as you have helped us. (I don’t want anyone to attack Australians at all) But I would love to be able to repay the Australians for all they have done. Their is way more to this story. I’m not an expert by any means. And this is just talking to members of the ADF. Another story that struck me as profound. It was something to the extent of (and I paraphrase) “parliament overlooks a cemetery... so when they vote to send troops out, they also have to see the cost” (it was told to me in this manner, so if the facts and stuff dont match up, I’m sorry. But as a person. I found that very profound and deep.

It could be argued that we did not truly gain independence from England until we won the War of 1812 in Feb. 1815. Until that time, England thought that they had the right to impress American sailors into the Royal Navy as if the Revolutionary War had not happened. After the Treaty of Ghent was signed, the British finally gave up on the idea that they still owned the American Colonies.
@codieomeallain6635

It could be argued that the U.S. won fuck all and the only reason that Britain left was because the war was so unpopular and expensive that the Brits lost interest. Basically it was the Vietnam of the 18th century, sure the major power could have won but it would be expensive in every way and it was easier and more popular to just say “fuck it” and leave.

@@hayleagair3177 yeah, true, but that’s more the War of 1812 than the American Revolution which is mostly what I was talking about and comparing to Vietnam. The fact is that many (all) of our allies rely on us for military protection which is why we have to put so much money into our military, and why countries like Canada or Australia can get away with spending so little on their militaries. It’s also why many of our allies can afford expensive socialist experiments like “free healthcare” etc... as an American, i’m happy our country can provide military protection to our allies, but it is discouraging sometimes when so many people from allied countries tend to be ungrateful and even hateful towards America.
