The DCI announcer needs a raise. Also, Rach star is one of those shows that I discovered early as a DCI fan and it really drew me into Crown. The opening hit is considered to be one of the best opening hits ever by Carolina Crown.

I still remember getting that first wall of brass at the beginning of their show when I saw it live mid-season. It was like a physical impact that I felt in my gut.

This show was from the year that Tuscaloosa, Alabama got hit by an F5 tornado in April. During the summer, when Crown was touring, they did a benefit concert in Tuscaloosa where they played this show, standing still...inside a gym. That hornline melted everyone's face off.

You're correct in relating Crown to amazing hornlines. They are often thought of having one of the best in the activity and constantly rank among the top three, much of the time being in first. I hope to march at least one year of crown before I age out :)

2:39 is where she realized it’s the best opening impact of the season. Also so you’re aware, because of copyright, the original preshow was cut after the bass Drum intro before the drum set fill.

AHHH I'm so glad someone guaranteed Rachstar (pronounced "Rock-Star") I had just rediscovered this show recently and am just obsessed with the music, and the opening hit, Paint it Black, and the crazy closer. Just all around an incredibly fun show. Also got me giddy because my senior year in high school ('04) we did ELP's Concerto and always love hearing a better version of music i've done, lol. I've been hoping for you to watch this show just for then ending alone and totally made my night that you reacted about as i expected. and yes those forms were the rocker hand and a guitar. I hope you can get to the recommendations that I've recently sent, going a little off course but i think you'll really love seeing the Blast! performances :)

I LOVE the opening hit to this show... it's hard to go wrong with Bohemian Rhapsody. The flag work in Paint it Black at 5:51 is so cool but you can't see it here :(

I was there on the 50 yard line front and center. Watching this online doesn’t do it justice. The sound hits you in the chest it’s so full and loud. It’s something you need to experience in person some day!

This show wasn’t designed to win a championship. It was designed to ensure those kids had the time of their lives every time they performed that show whether in rehearsal or on tour. The energy of this show was just infectious. There was rarely a time when the crowd wasn’t engaged with this show. Also that opening hit was THE opening hit Crown has ever done.

Ofc i liked the opener and the closer, but the whole show wasnt that big of a deal for me. This show did that though and thats why i think Rach Star was better then The Beat My Heart Skipped

The only thing I hate about this DCI recording, is that they don't show the entire pre-show. That pre-show was soooo much fun.

Rach is short for Rachmaninoff, a composer. So it's pronounced "rock" and a play on words. Incorporating some of Rachmaninoff's pieces and iconic Rock music.
