As an addition, I must say Courtney intuitively knows more about what is going on than she realizes. She just needs to be able to put musical/marching/drumming terms to what she is experiencing. That's a huge compliment, Courtney.

That show is just one year before their (arguably best) show: Between Angels And Demons. The cadets are know for their spot on drill which both shows, show extremely well.

I definitely would have gone with 2011 first. It's one of my favorites from the last 20 years of the Cadets (along with 2000, 2001 and 2015)

Fun fact: This is the oldest continually active drum and bugle corps (formed way back in 1934). They have had some amazing shows throughout their existence, and I'm sure you'll get a bunch of suggestions for more recent ones. But for what could be argued as the corps' best period, I'd recommend someone kick in some guaranteed requests on her site for some of their shows from the mid-1980s; namely the 1983, 1984 (some would argue their best show ever performed in their existence), 1985 and/or 1987 shows.

@@mbmaccin555555 this was my brother's ageout year, i marched 5 summers, he marched 7, and we never marched in the same corps, though most of our years in the activity overlapped. geoffrey was in both of our corps though, so that's pretty random. it's been a few years since i watched this one but i appreciated a few moments more than i had previously, especially those wild ending chords jay bocook threw in there. low brass killed it....i'm gonna share this with him tomorrow, so cheers to that. 11 is great, 09 is my favorite show he marched, the 08 ending is crazy, and the 07 hornline is the loudest i ever heard, but this one did have a decent amount of moments that made their elite potential evident. solid drill throughout too.

Anything you see or hear is totally valid! The guard dirt you saw was definitely real. I’d say it’s because the flag designs were so bright and sharp, plus there was a lot of moments where they were in huge lines makes even the tiniest bit of dirt show up much much much more. With a bit of a tweak to the flag designs and drill that stuff wouldn’t be noticeable.

This is such an underrated show. Honestly speaking, I think a lot of the shows from 2010 are underappreciated now. The Cavaliers, Blue Devils, Cadets, Carolina Crown, Santa Clara Vanguard, and Phantom Regiment all did amazing things that year.

I remember being blown away the first time I saw this early in the 2010 season. It was such a fun show to watch. Your comment that there is a lot going on that was correct. I mean I just didn't know where to focus not to miss anything. I loved this show. On a side note and I take a lot of guff for this but I can not hear the word Cadets without shouting Garfield in my head.

I don’t understand why Cadets 2010 show was used for a reaction video. I mean, all Cadets shows were good, but we want to WOW this woman, right? What other show was full of emotion, fun, fast, beautiful and will get her out of her seat? 1995 Cadets had all of that and more. Give 1995 a shot. You’re gonna love it. The show is called “An American Quintet” and the theme takes place at the start of WW2, and follows American soldiers from getting drafted to the military, fighting, and ultimately not coming home. It runs the whole gamut of emotions from sad to exciting to fun...all in 11 1/2 minutes! Please do 1995 Cadets!

I looked for guard problems and there was one major one in about the middle. I was surprised. Also, it is a bad situation for marching when one horn player is missing. It must ruin the concentration of the members who had to adjust. I snoozed a bit at the beginning when they changed the melody to the opener (I played it in high school in 1960) but after about halfway, the corps caught fire. The horn line with their balls to the wall ending almost had me screaming in harmony with Courtney. Nice touch with Jeffrey.

those ending chords really were amazing, jay bocook really put an interesting twist on the show with those. rewound it a whole bunch of times. the low brass sure sounded insanely good from the company front on. huh?

i competed in that show at least a few times between 04-07, with magic of orlando (mello soloist in the ballad of the pirate show) and the bluecoats. always really enjoyed it! passionate, knowledgable fans, amazing summer weather (i'm from south florida so trust me lol), and same with hornell and utica shows too. the connection with the activity in the NE is palpable, it was cool to experience.

This was my 2nd year in the Cadets, and of the 4 years I marched this is definitely considered the low point for me show wise..... but I gotta say this reaction definitely puts it into a new light for me in a positive way. It was refreshing to revisit this one and to remember we were pretty damn good for 5th place.

Hey there Courtney! Love the DCI Reacts :D I'd recommend reacting to Cadets 2000 - it's got music used at Disney World, and it's a great show (tied for 1st with the Cavaliers, who did "Niagara Falls," which I'd also recommend) Oh and Phantom Regiment 2010 - that's a beautiful show

Courtney, if you're referring to @10:32 about the color guard I think that was a ripple effect to bring out the percussion sound visually. However, sometimes color guards do get out of sync even in drum corps. You're not being too harsh on them. No worries, haha.

When you start cheering in tune 14:01. Haha You're really getting a hold of this dci thing. This was a great example of a mid 2000s-2015 drum corps show. The pure balls out power moments have become fewer and fewer in this next gen of dci.

Here's a recommendation, Cortney.....Cadets 2000. The last two minutes.....the best / most exciting in Drum Corps History!!! You're welcome....my name is Mark too. Not the same Mark who recommended the 2010 show. I was on the Cadets percussion staff 1982, '83, '84.

I hope that in the future you react to more Carolina Crown,, the corp has some of the biggest brass flexes. If you do, I recommend 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016(my favorite),2017, and 2018. I know it's a lot but Crown has been doing bits the past years😂

There are many Carolina crown shows that you should watch but just for reference I’d love to see you react to 2009 and 2010 tho If you do do it in chronological order because 10 is a sequel to 2009.

Wow, this is one of my least favorite shows Cadets have done. I guess we all love different things! I may not like this show, but the hornline and guard are awesome! I love Cadets 2011 though!!!!

Courtney, you might appreciate this video, it's from World War II and it's about a US pilot who scores a direct hit against a Japanese ship. The first is SCV from 2009 and it has that great horn swell that you like and last corps is Madison Scouts with another great horn swell to end the show.

Courtney, please don't get upset over some dumb commenters reacting stupidly on your site. There's a lot of idiots on the internet and you can't take them seriously. If they don't know you or your fiance', they have no right making up stuff about you and him. It is not their business where you and your boyfriend decide to live together.
