New Zealand holiday|Time to catch my plane: Long flight ahead
It's never easy: Saying goodbye. I prefer to do that at home and leaving the family there. A lovely vision of them standing on their property waving me out. I am grateful to Bruce for driving me to the airport. "Just drop me at the Departure Lounge". No drawn out farewells.
It's reasonable busy at Auckland Airport. I'm early. I don't relax till I've passed customs and orientate myself which Gate I need to go to. Then I relax.
A long flight of 17+ hours to Dubai. Great food, friendly staff. Emirates do that well. Watch lots of episodes of favourite programmes. Episodes of Black Adder, Frazier and the whole season of The Great British Bake Off. Fabulous.
A transfer at Dubai and we are off again.
It rained on arrival - sigh! On the way home a visit to ma, my bonus ma. So glad I did. The two weeks that followed I visited often so as I could fill her in on my adventures and about the children. She passed away 2 weeks later.
It has been an amazing time- both leaving, there and returning home. It's almost Autumn here now. Time flies and so do !
