We went fishing in the Florida Keys with my Girlfriend who is a complete fishing newbie. Every trip I take her on I'm reminded how old fishing experiences for me (like catching a mutton snapper) can be insanely special memories for her. The perspective of someone who's inexperienced is so different and insanely interesting. We not only chased big snapper, but we also went far offshore of the Florida keys to chase some Blackfin tuna.

My husband and I love to fish but never have we ever been offshore fishing on a boat, we are now in our mid 50's living vicariously through your videos nightly on RU-vid or in the middle of the night on our phones. Definitely need to try it it took me a year to convince my wife to go fishing shes a real city girl and i grew up in a small town hunting and fishing when she finally said yes she had a great time and was smiles all the trip she was so excited and said she wouldn't mind going again... trust me you need to get out there

Fantastic video and what a way to start out life with a GF who likes to share the special moments of fishing. I have been fishing for over 60 years and still at it. I have passed this on to my daughters and grandson. With two more grandkids on the way in 2024 I will try and continue bending rods for another decade. Mutton snapper! Man, just got home and it’s 11:37pm in NS, and I see you’ve uploaded a 46 min video. There’s no way I can’t watch this as you’re like one of the best storytellers out there. Mutton Snapper. Great technique with the clip-on weights on the grouper rods. We do this quite a bit with freshwater trolling. Allows you to fight the fish and not the weight. You could do something similar to eliminate a lot of hand-lining for those muttons. Great videos and beautiful fishing partner. You are blessed.

Okay Ryan, here’s the deal. I’ve got 7 weeks of chemo and radiation starting next week. Probably a good two months to recover. Two friends ironically have had the same cancer. Both told me to set a goal and find something to keep you positive. I’m retrofitting my Gheenoe from a river fishing boat here in Georgia and making it a Flats boat. My goal is to have it ready by this winter or spring and bring it down to my old stomping grounds. (Satellite Beach, Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, or Everglade City) If all goes to plan I want to take you fishing. I’ll keep you updated.

This is awesome and I love the content. I wanna give you guys a little heads up. A close friend of mine loved snowboarding, he started dating someone who also loved snowboarding. They got married and life was blissful. Unfortunately, they ended up getting a divorce, and the wildest thing is that they were both completely chill about it probably one of the nicest break ups in the history of divorces. They both just agreed that they were around each other way too much having similar hobbies, and that can sometimes be a little bit too much time together.

Hey Ryan. I've been deep sea fishing for over 75 years and lived in Baja for 17 where I fished just about 3-4 times a week. I have a couple of suggestions for your videos. !. Turn off the clickers. Once they have alerted you to a strike or a fish on, they have done their duty. Listening to them is annoying (by design). 2. When the fish is netted or gaffed, go to free spool so the person handling the fish doesn't have to fight the fish AND the tension on the rod. I noticed Capt. Ryan had to reach over more than a couple of times to release the drag on Christina's rod.
