No chance we will ever get Olisse, he will be offered some insane 300k a week contract at man u or chelsea, but at least we know he will flop badly at both clubs they love ruining good players 🤣
@@Chez114 nah mate Im always positive, like with Tosin I genuinely believe that lad wanted to join us more than Chelsea but they offered him so much more money he couldnt ignore it
A few too many other more attractive (according to media) at the moment, of Bayern Chelsea and other of the sinister six but Olise came good big style at end of season
Could someone explain how Chelsea can splash out vast amount of cash and we can’t?. If anyone has transgressed FFP it has to be them. I think there might not be any major signings until the Man City case against the FA finishes and we hear the outcome.
It's hard to calculate but Chelsea must be very close to the FFP maximum of a £105M loss over a rolling 3 year period. Chelsea made a record revenue (for them) in 2022/23 of £512.5M BUT they also posted a loss of £90M the same season. This makes it seem that they are virtually sure to go over the £105M limit over a 3 year rolling period because of their recent signings HOWEVER they've been signing players on 8 year contracts which means that they can say that they spent less per year than they would be able to with 5 year contracts. This may mean that Chelsea could be just inside the FFP limit - we will have to see. The Premier League has now stopped 8 year contracts, the maximum is 5 years, but they couldn't make it retrospective, and so Chelsea's ploy of using 8 year contracts may still allow them to get away with their spending. I hope that they've miscalculated and are punished.
@@ozzy6162 That’s interesting! Hopefully that may have an impact on whether they can go for Alisia? I still think a lot of clubs will wait until the outcome of the MC court case.
Chelsea keep finding and using loopholes to get around FFP/PSR. Apparently they have sold a few properties around the stadium to their sister company which has relieved their FFP situation. (Is that not a related party transaction??? 🤔) As long as they keep finding those loop holes and using them before the PL put regulations in place Chelsea can keep spending. I am hoping that those cases being investigated will come up soon as when the previous owner was there they apparently did some deals off books for big player signings. Not sure if that is true or not but if it is they could be sanctioned with a transfer embargo at some point in the future. Doubt they will get points and at this rate cannot see City getting points either with the legal power they will have behind them. It is crap that Chelsea can snap up every player and potential youth player by just throwing whatever salary offer at them though, but thats a the players choice at the end of the day...look at Andrey Santos...hardly played last season and went to Forest on loan. Waste of a talent by picking money over playing regularly. Love what we are doing at the toon and we keep building. All good things come to those who wait! Just like a great pint of Guinness 😂😉 HWTL!!!
@@danevans4106 If this is the case I would say f**k that and start splashing the cash and if the FA charge us with anything, and just remember we also have the means to employ top legal people therefore if they try to single us out we can drag the likes of Man City and Chelsea into the debate. Basically if they try and screw us over, which they would, they’ll have to do the same with those other teams.
@@PhilPha I think our owners are keeping a sharp eye on what will be progressing with things at Man City and Chelsea. I think they are astute business people and they are just waiting for that correct opportunity to drive the business forward. I personally would rather us do things correctly than be dragged in and out of courts and slapped with long winded investigations and sanctions which could have a more detrimental affect to our club later down the line. I know some would want us to immediately sign the likes of the Mbappe's, Neymar's, Ronaldo's and Messi's of the world but I am liking the types of players we are recruiting and developing into those stars, as they appear to be very focused on the team togetherness and morale and the fight for the club rather than all the other crap you might encounter. Like sulking that your transfer wasn't sanctioned because your still in contract etc. Which massively destabilised a team. Just my opinion of course as others may see it differently. Dont get me wrong I am as eager as every toon fan to win silverware and as much of it as we can get and its exciting to be able to spend £80 -£100mil on a transfer but they have to be right for us. We have made some fantastic signings since these owners came in...really looking forward to the new season and who else we get this window.
The Athletic says that Chelsea & Bayern Munich have also asked permission to speak to Olise & his people. It would be great to sign him but it seems very unlikely.
Olise could end up as a bidding war which could get up close to 100 mill. Doubt we have a budget for that. Try bringing in Federico Chiesa instead. Domenico Berardi is another good italian that would be a great addition even though he's injured at the moment.
@@SteviePeters-x3u Yeah you're right, even though The Telegraphs speculates that it might only get triggered by a CL club. Anyway I don't really see us getting him tbh.
I love your enthusiasm but thinking that Olise will choose to move to the North East over staying in London, with European football, albeit the Mickey Mouse cup, is a little naive. Money, location, Europe and likelihood of winning a trophy will be too much to turn down. We will always struggle to compete with these big clubs, especially the London clubs Hope I’m wrong, but 6 decades of following the team suggests I won’t be
I disagree, isak and Bruno are on the new top wage, bring someone in on more than that, then they will be knocking on door for a pay rise, Gordon as well,
Olise will be going to Chelsea on big wages and staying in London, he was never going to sign for us anyway. As for Lloyd Kelly yeah good squad player and pleased we've signed him but fgs stop talking about it it's getting boring now .
I agree boosting the squad thats where we went wrong last year which surely cost us top 6 even 4 , Mr Ashworth shite job. Watch this season im convinced it will be better
I'd rather eze, good ploy by toon go for the wrong player thus time trick Chelsea n make them pay more fir a player we don't want n then get eze for same price or less 😂
I cannot understand why some are getting excited over an injury prone free signing! A good back up if he can stay fit but another player parked if he ends up like another of Howe's dodgy pals in Wilson! If it is too good to be true then 9 times out of 10 it will be the case, Slyvain Marveaux anyone?
