Shay lives in my village in Cheshire and is a top bloke and Newcastle legend (my hometown club) met him in the local barbers during lockdown and had good craic with him, a proper down to earth bloke, no aires or graces and a pleasure to speak too. Will always be a TOON ledge, looking forward to seeing this one James

Great interview! Selfishly as a Newcastle fan I would've loved to have heard a bit more about being number 1 over Pav and Shaka, as Pav is just as loved as Shay by the Geordies. I'd love for Shay to have some involvement now that we've had a take over

I was at the Convoy Cup game where he scored that screamer for Lifford Celtic - he was actually a regular for Newcastle at the time! He hit the crossbar from about 40 yards out in that game as well!

Shay is a top guy, I remember being at Old Trafford and seeing him getting stick playing in goal for City. I remember thinking then of the stick goal keepers get from the fans is mad.

If you have not already read his book then please do...his battle with alcoholism and also his insecurity about his appearance is mind blowing .... His fellow professionals world wide voted for him as one of the best 5 centre Half's to play the game of football. Your podcasts are amazing and what I admire about you is that you let your guests speak freely and the cast is not all about you but them. I am a manager of a big company that make seats for Jaguar Land Rover and supervise 80+ team members...all people have individual personalities just like every guest on your cast....but it's the way you respect people in life and not judge them like they all have the same personality's is when you get the best from them. Treat people how you want to be treated is a motive for life. This is why your podcasts are so loved and successful...your viewers and guests respect you.
