The interviews are back and we've got an absolute legend to kick-off the series as Si Ferry & Slaney sit down with former Newcastle United, Man City & Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given!
The candid chat with Ireland's record caps-holder for a goalie goes back to his early career at Celtic where he discusses how the club let him slip through the net during a turbulent time in the East End of Glasgow, to his time with Kenny Dalglish at Blackburn and Newcastle and all the amazing moments and memories he experienced from his time at St James' Park both in the Premier League and in Europe.
We of course also chat about his time with Man City at the start of the Sheik Mansour revolution as well as his historic moments and funniest teammate stories with the National Team including the 2002 World Cup, Thierry Henry's Hand Ball and Euro 2012.

Used to work with Shay's sister Michelle in Bank of Ireland. She knew I was a massive football fan and a Celtic fan. One day I came back after lunch and Shay was sitting in my seat. Chatted with him for an hour or so. Absolutely lovely people.

I sat 4 rows back directly behind Shay’s goal for 10 years at St James’ Park, and you genuinely could’ve convinced me that he had tourettes. There could be no one near his goal and he’d still be raging and shouting on 😂 unreal keeper, unreal bloke. Class interview lads 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Lou Macari was probably raging Glasgow-Donegalman Ray Houghton lobbed the Italian keeper at USA 94 & kicked Shay & Packie Bonner out of Celtic as revenge. Shay definitely made right move though in all seriousness. Celtic was a shambles then, current board look amazing by comparison to the one running things in Shays day.
