I'm American and do NOT want the PL to play over here. I look forward to traveling to the Toon for matches. Pre-season friendlies over here are good enough for fan outreach. Every match is broadcasted in the US, currently. I don't think the PL will gain many more fans by adding a remote match or two. The current US fanbase is near its peak, IMO.

You can hate on this now but I’m telling you one thing, football is heading this way and is only going to go downhill for the fans particularly local. People want to stand again this ? I don’t blame them

Atmosphere has been shocking lately I 100% agree. I can only get a ticket in the family enclosure L7 and tumbleweeds spring to mind. Its embarrassing tbh !

As a foreigner, i would be willing to pay a solid fee for a ticket. North American sports can get pricey. Our box for hockey is 300gbp per person.

Hmm I’m a little torn on what is causing the lack of atmosphere in St James park. I don’t think it’ll be down to corporate, purely because those seasons tickets got snapped up very quickly when the take over was announced. I believe the main core of season ticket holders is still the same. I think it’s because we are playing poor, we aren’t playing the exciting football anymore and we aren’t sat on the edge of our seats. I also think recent changes in the club have stirred a bit of worry amongst the fanbase due to media portraying it more serious than it actually is.

Honestly I don't mind if there was a "Super League", however, those teams and their players, should then not be allowed to participate at all in any of the other football leagues or competitions; like the Premiere League, Champions League or the FA cup etc. That would be the only way I would allow it to happen.

I dont want this to happen, but it's inevitable, to make the premier league a global brand, playing games abroad will be seen as a powerful tool to promote the league, and i think club owners will be all onboard with it, as its putting their club at the forefront of a money making/brand pushing aspect. As I said, I dont want this to happen, but I think its inevitable unfortunately.

I think this is as a result of the European Super League not taking off. However I do not think this concept is dead. If the Premier League doubles down on FFP/PSR then we could see the the resurrection of the Super League. How much longer will the big clubs and I include Newcastle in this put up with being told how much they can spend? Long term the European Super League is inevitable. The Premier League is playing with fire. Sooner or later they will get burned.

Gov regulators are saying they will license British football clubs and remove their licenses if they try it again, meaning they will be unable to play.
@johnstephenson4711
@johnstephenson4711 2 дня назад
@@michaelmckie9164 UEFA have said a Govt regulator would result in clubs being barred from competing in Champions League. Talk is cheap. In the end it is the money that talks. Look what is happening in golf and boxing. The financial realities will impact football and the Premier League. It is only a matter of time.

Game has been lost to the average person. Working people that went to the match at weekends and enjoyed supporting the team. The game is insane now, football is more like a Hollywood saga than a working class sport.

VAR doesn’t help with the atmosphere, if fans weren’t on edge enough, we now have to deal with the long wait for a goal to be given . As fans we have a duty to dig deep and to remember what our game was about !! Football has been taken away from us enough so we really need to stand firm on this shit !!

Richard Scudamore the former chief executive of the premier league wanted the 39th game to be played abroad 10 years ago, playing premier league games abroad is inevitable in the future.

Sure you’ve realised now but Wings is £360-£400, the new area in gallowgate/milburn corner is £800 👍. Your point in tourist cost still stands though. If you really want to go as a tourist and willing to pay a few hundred quid as a one off game then you can get a ticket.
@AdamPearson1242
@AdamPearson1242 2 дня назад
Apologies for mistaken the 2 separate hospitality packages, obviously I don’t use them personally. With the way the Premier League is with match day revenue and club profits, my season ticket is £650 for 19 games with the hospitality in the milburn corner being £800 for 1 game. The difference in revenue is crazy when you compare the 2

It’s absolutely ridiculous that teams have to go to the USA. I would disagree with you on one thing, I don’t think they’d put the big derbies and rivalries in the US like Man City v Man Utd or Liverpool vs City as there would be Uproar let alone it means a team is playing home and another playing ‘-away’ having less benefit from the home crowd. In that way a game like Arsenal vs Newcastle is more likely to be picked. As English fans there will be uproar if this is done in a fashion which benefits teams in potential title races and even relegation battles.

Wouldn't we get a share of the gate recipes from the American games so would still benefit us financially and the Saudis will then start bidding for the premier league games as they have already had Spanish games played over there

Will season ticket prices drop for teams that travel over there to play as there's potentially a game less at home, also there wasn't an atmosphere problem in the 90's, is it cos fans are a lot older an maybe more women in the stadium? (sorry lasses)

Firstly, the money teams would get for playing in the US would be much larger than the revenue for Corporate packages Secondly, we wouldn't get picked for the US but we would most certainly get picked for the Mid East Indeed the fee may be so much higher than Liverpool in the US etc that the red cartel protecting EPL wouldn't want us playing in Saudi Arabia, though ironically they may pick a Newcastle vs Man Utd game which benefits us and red cartel team. If someone else starts doing it and gains an brand exposure advantage it is just a matter of time before the EPL does it, and it's a slippery slope as plum home ties get siphoned off
