All I can say is I thought our days of shambles were over but apparently not! Looks like we have accepted £33m for Minteh because of PSR. There needs to be an internal investigation how we are in this mess, we are a laughing stock. We can blame EPL and big 6 if we like but it’s only the management of our club that has put us in this situation! I am absolutely disgusted in them! They’ve probably been saved by this deal if they had sold Isak or Gordon it would’ve been carnage at SJP!! 🤬
Totally agree. I don't think we can blame PSR or "corrupt premier league" etc ....the buck stops with the board in my opinion. They have been aware of the rules since the takeover and aware of the actual financial situation since the end of last summer's transfer window after the spending was complete. The board's failure to sell players is the cause of this - I know our squad was full of lower premier league quality on mid premier league level wages but their failure to sell is still an absolute joke, surely some deadwood could have been sold over the last 2/3 years instead of just allowing contracts to expire. I think Howe should also take some responsibility, the board were keen to sell Trips, Wilson and Miggy in January but when Howe was questioned about it he made it clear he was unwilling to lose anyone in that transfer window - it was obvious to most people with half a brain that the club should have cashed in on these players while there were offers on the table. Regarding Miggy - Howe said he was "desperate" to keep hold of him. If this is what he was saying in public god only knows what he was saying to him in private e.g. sit tight, don't accept the saudi offer, you have a contract so they can't force you to move anywhere etc. When a player is in two minds whether to leave of not, I'm sure Howe's "desperation" to keep hold of him swung the decision. We’re in a mess atm but comparing it to old times under pathetically unambitious owners is equally pathetic and a completely emotionally driven irrational response to the current situation. Trying to understate PSR is ridiculous when a myriad of clubs are doing overtly dodgy deals to stay within the limits. We’re not as big in terms of club size as the big 6 with revenues along with the fact we finished 7th last year so the wiggle room is limited. Should have got a director in by now but honestly blaming Howe is misguided asf imo. Heads need a wobble. Be patience, and contextualize the worrying predicament the clubs in.
@@WNUS2001 the offer had been accepted by the club for Miggy, if Howe had said it was time for Miggy to leave the Saudi club wouldn't have lowered their bid. Howe could also have just done his usual "no comment" act in the press conference if he didn't want to say anything. But like I said, the buck stops with the board on this one. Howe should not be given so much control by them on incomings and outgoings.

PSR supposedly for stability of clubs, but PSR is the single severe threat to stability of most non-"big6" clubs. PSR makes VAR look like a triumph of common sense. FFS. Fans of the big six seem convinced we will have to sell Gordon, Isak and Bruno just to avoid a penalty. I would like to think this is just wishful thinking. This isn't on Howe at all. It's higher up the food chain than him. It's easy to say "Just sell Almiron and Wilson" but a) you need a willing buyer and b) the player themselves have to want to go. Miggy simply did not want to go in January and it's as simple as that. This isn't the Sir Alex Ferguson days where one man has complete dominion over everything and anyone at the club and does as he sees fit no questions asked. Howe doesn't have that level of authority. He said himself he wanted to get Minteh back and take a look at him in pre-season before deciding if he needs another loan or challenge for a place in the first team.
Minteh going is a real kick in the teeth, if Gordon goes, they will be uproar! I really thought the club was heading in the right direction, I'm now questioning it!
They would care if more acted with you and revenue was affected. The problem these days is that clubs are run by bean counters who have no love of the game of football. Accountants only see the bottom line of the Profit and Loss statement.
