I hope it happens. I'm not a Newcastle fan but it's very clear that Ashley has no intention of doing anything other than using the club to promote himself, whilst giving the club just about enough of the money it earns, to keep its head above water. Although some people hate the Sheikhs buying clubs like they're playthings and obviously we've all seen them continually break FFP rules, I'd rather see all that money dispersed into the world, rather than sitting in bank accounts, doing nothing but making the planet poorer. The young men who play football and get the crazy wages, at a high-level, spend a huge amount of the money they earn. That's good for everyone.

FFP will mess up the investment into the team though and other English clubs may start to realize the FFP isn't just an attack on Man City, it's an attack on English clubs to keep them in line and stop a return to English clubs dominating European football (1977 to 1985 English clubs won the European Cup 7 times and dominated Europe). Full circle as it's happening again and the big clubs in Europe won't like it and will want FFP to deal with it.

City first won the FA Cup in 1904 long before other so called big clubs did.
