Stu.. Great video. I hope a lot of users look at this as you have shown how simple it is to setup and use. My only 2 recommendations are 1. In the N1MM Config on the mode tab. there are 2 drop down menu selection for radio 1 and 2 for what mode you want N1MM to switch into for RTTY and PSK. Set the mode for the PSK selection. When WSJT is loaded N1MM sets the radio mode to what is selected in this drop down. 2. Don't enter if the settings in WSJT until it has been loaded thru N1MM. When WSJT gets loadedd thru N1MM it uses a separate configuration file than when it is loaded by itself. You will notice the name of it in the top title of WSJT. If you make settings when it is not loaded thru N1MM those changes will not be loaded into the config file that gets used when using it with N1MM. Thanks for doing this I hope it gets the word out about setting it up.. 73 Rick N2AMG (Digital developer for N1MM).

Hi Rick! First off, thanks for all you and the other developers do for the the N1MM project! It is an amazing program, and my very favorite contest logging software. I actually stayed away from the two pull downs on the mode tab as they are very much radio specific. I do have them set for my Yaesu, but that setting is specific to certain Yaesu models, and I felt it would be confusing for someone that has not done a setup for RTTY or PSK31 before seeing this video. I agree that I probably should have erased the WSJT-X-ForEW1 directory before I video captured the setup. And I really should have done a better job of making it clear that the configuration file would be different then the one you load when you run the program from the desktop. I said a few things that implied it, but didn't really make it clear... Just a note, the software combination worked great for me during field day! Much better then having to modify ADIF fields and import the data into N1MM... Great work on the software Rick, Thanks Again! 73 Stu AG6AG

Hi Stu Great video, only question I have is, does it logged to N1MM++, for me I had to import the file into N1MM and these contacts never showed up on the score summary, so thought I’d ask.. thanks again

Hi Scott, I tested this during Field Day, and when the logging page popped up on WSJT-x I was able to click OK and the QSO went right into N1MM+. I did have to add my exchange on every entry in the WSJT logging window, but other then that, everything logged directly. We are evaluating one issue which seems to cause the QSOs to be improperly interpreted due to them being logged as FT8 and not RTTY... More on that when we get all the data into a parser and do some evaluation... Till then... Stu

does the path option under the digital model window exist?
@AG6AG
@AG6AG 4 года назад
Hi, No, they radically changed the configuration interface. Now all the settings for WSJT are under the WSJT/JTDX Setup tab. That is where the path entry is now. It's important to note that you still need to configure FLDigi and/or MMTTY under the Digital Modes tab if you are going to be doing RTTY/PSK31. I'm trying to put together a new video for this with the menu changes. Hopefully soon. Stu AG6AG

Perhaps change title to: "Setting N1MM+ and WSJT-x up for Field Day". There are different settings for other contests as well as non-contest FT8 operation.

This video actually needs a redone. N1MM+ has changed their configuration screens and there are a few settings that have changed slightly in WSJT-x. I'm hoping to get some time after the new year.

@@AG6AG Yes, a common issues with the re-iterations of software. Web pages and RU-vid how-to vids where the visuals don't match the viewers software layouts and options causing much confusion. Maybe include the version of WSJTx & N1MM being used?

Wouldn't it just be simpler to import the WSJT-X ADIF log into N1MM?
@AG6AG
@AG6AG 4 года назад
Hi Tony, Having WSJT-X integrated with N1MM+ allows N1MM+ to handle the 'Already Worked' color coding inside of WSJT-X so you will have an indication of the 'worked' status based on the contest, not on the standard 'Already Worked' criteria used by WSJT-X. It also makes sure that the QSO is in the format accepted by the current contest. But if you are just working one band and don't want all of the other features that N1MM+ works into the mix, you certainly can import the ADIF file. Stu AG6AG

Stu, great video! One question (maybe more) I gather you operate using the wsjt windows or do you need both? Does the exchange data propagate between the apps or is some of it typed in? See you there... 73’s de Mike wa6fxt

N1MM is the vehicle that your are running WSJT-x Through. So I guess the answer is you need both of them running. Second question, when the log save screen comes up in WSJT-x and you select save, it populates the N1MM log. Also, the right scroll of all receive is color coded with 'worked', multi, etc... Makes for a real easy experience.
