And that’s what the MV is based on but gender reversed. - So Hoyeon is some sort of Cupid that makes people fall in love but she does not have a love. So when the male lead turn his head, she thought he could see her, and that made her fall for him. - She strips her black gown which represents her power of invisibility (?) and became “human”. - But in the end, the higher-ups (Tony) made her turn back into Cupid / invisible and make the male lead fall in love with another human. I think new jeans were watching over her since she’s not allowed to love a human.

This music video is actually about Cupid and Psyche story. (Ima try my best to make it understandable) The painting is the central important theme of the mv. It's called L'mour de Psyche. Simply the beginning (Hyeon, who's actor in Squid Game) the Cupid mainly does her own tasks and makes people fall in love. She found herself in love with a human as willing to be the man (Psyche). Here's my breakdown for shorten passage: The Cupid is mainly invisible in the Psyche eye's, she mostly follow him around how she's in love with him during Side A of the music video. The ending of Side A when she was considered to be naked mainly she trying to make herself visible (to be in love with the Psyche, the man) from the rain going angelness (turning into a human being but still a cupid), that's why Side B she went to his apartment, then completely sees her. NewJeans are angels or muses watching over the Cupid (Hoyeon) btw. Afterward the ending of side B; there was a man (the old man, actor named Tony Leung who's actor in Shang-Chi and many more + quite shocking to see him in the music video) he's called Venus part of the story as the father of Cupid (I'm not 100% if he's the father btw) and hates the Psyche to be in love with the Cupid. At the ending where the Cupid was waving at Psyche (the man), the Cupid was in shock seeing him (Venus) there since she's a Cupid while having a forbidden love with the Psyche. That's where Venus saw the Cupid was in love with Psyche and made Psyche fall in love with the girl beside the Cupid. Mainly, when Cupid lost her person, that she loved was Psyche. Then, she (The Cupid) went back to NewJeans (the angels or muses) as she can't be in love with a Psyche anymore since Venus broken it. I hope this make sense. + I love this concept sm that NewJeans is making because of these types of myths and Greek Gods storys that I learn back in fourth grade! its a metaphor eluding to the story of cupid (hoyeon), the psyche (micol), and venus (tony). this is the painting of love and psyche they were looking at in the beginning. newjeans are her guardian angels i believe, because they are the only ones that can see her. hoyeon is cupid, her job is making people fall in love. but she fell in love with a human- micol. and she abandons her job and just follows him around hopelessly. he can't see her, no humans can see her. (when she looks at the mirror, she has no reflection). at the end of side a, where she takes her clothing off in the rain and looks up at sky, it symbolizes her asking to become human, her own way of striking herself with cupid's arrow. side b picks off where side a ends, she is now human and we can see that because yes her clothes are different, and people can now see her-- micol can see her. they start falling in love throughout side b. at the end, tony (venus/aphrodite) takes revenge by making hoyeon into a cupid again- thus nullifying her human status meaning micol can't see her and he forgets about the time they shared. ultimately, tony made him fall in love with someone else (that girl on the street) because she disobeyed her job as cupid i copy it from other comment in other video...

The girl is HOYEON, from the squid game series. The story is based on the mythological story of Cupid and psyche. Hoyeon is Cupid and she can make people fall in love but can’t fall in love herself as people can’t see her. New jeans are her guardian angels.. cupids job is making ppl around her fall in love but she comes across psyche and falls for him. forbidden love basically. the scene when she shreds her clothes is basically her shredding the cupid title and becoming human so she can be with him . However VENUS, (Tony Leung) finds out and turns her back into cupid making her partner forget about her and not being able to see her. to punish her for falling for a human he basically makes psyche fall for a different human girl. in the original story cupid is a guy and psyche is a girl but they switched the roles for this. ppl are also speculating that new jeans play the muses in greek mythology who tell the stories. i personally think new jeans are the ones that snitched on her to venus cuz they’re the only ones that are constantly watching her throughout the videos . ❤👏👏

Okay so here is the MVs story, it’s about Cupid and psyche. Cupid falls in love with a human, psyche, whom he wasn’t supposed to be with but rather was supposed to give psyche a shitty partner. But once his mother, Aphrodite, finds out she prohibits him from seeing psyche again, but ofc since it’s Greek mythology there was a loophole for them to be together. Nevertheless, this isn’t what happens in the end for our Cupid. Instead her father (Aphrodite) switches up the storyline for his daughter because that wasn’t what she was supposed to do (becoming a human in order to fall in love with someone). So ofc our cupid faces heartbreak. Now as for new jeans, the other characters. I believe that they are there as muses, kind of like in Hercules, telling the story of Cupid and Psyche. But some others are saying that they are angels of sorts that were related to her father (Aphrodite) and her somehow, and they were eavesdropping on Cupid’s every move. And that should explain why they morph into humans during the MV. And by doing so, they told on her to her father (Aphrodite) whom then did what he did in the end. That’s why Cupid usually breaks the fourth wall by staring at them, and why she seemed so disillusioned in the end of the MV while staring at them. Now I have a hunch that they will find a way to complete the story of Cupid and Psyche with the other MVs because if you can’t tell by now the only part that is missing is when Cupid manages to get back with Psyche because of a loophole (Psyche not being allowed to ever look at Cupid). Mainly because of the teaser in the end. And because in a tik tok with Haerin herself dancing Super shy in different settings, she was wearing a Cupid costume.

The muse are inspiring Eros to take the leap of faith and fall in love with a mortal man Psyche. The man at the end of the movie is Apollo punishing Eros for meddling and falling in love with a mortal. The five Muse of Apollo are said to be the inspiration of everything love art music. Therefore they know everything about us because they're always there with in our head even though you saw them on the balcony they were in her head or psyche... Get it now

As a Cupid she doesn't feel anything heat, cold, rain... It is a common thing in films when an ethereal being feels something for the first time they use rain because it's visually easier to convey then heat or cold( unless they use snow). So she just shed her immortality and now for the first time she can feel rain on her skin.

The story of this mv is based on the movie City of Angels. This film tells the story of an angel who falls in love with a woman and decides to become human to be with her. But shortly afterwards the woman he fell in love with dies. In short, his transition to human was in vain. In the Cool With You mv the woman is a cupid who fell in love with a man to the point of completely forgetting what her job is. Throughout the MV you see her ignore a chancs to make the guy fall in love with other woman because now she wants him. At the end of the day "A" MV, she gives up her divinity to live her human love. At first everything works out but then when she goes to meet him, another cupid appears behind the guy and she understands everything. She is desperate because she knows that the other cupid is going to make her boyfriend fall in love with another woman.. And that's what happens. Now she's alone without love and without her immortality.

So far I have not found any reactor (just 1) who knows Tony Leung, so it feels a bit incomplete for the reaction. Sorry🙏
