Honestly lol, I think there's a big subconscious part of me that's resisted sports for this reason. Played a bit out of pressure mostly from friends as a kid but was happy not to be some teams fan. Casey annoyed me! She was always around like a third wheel (assistant or not) … She seem to low key liked/flirted with Nick to me, surprised Jessica never pick up on it…
She actually wasn’t her assitant. In her book Jess talks about caceee was a very successful career woman at virgin records (I think virgin maybe it was another label) doing R&D (research’s be development) finding new artists and cultivating their talent. When they signed Jess she started working a lot with Jess then became her road manager. She wasn’t really her PERSONAL assistant but a corporate liaison with the label. She continues to thrive in her industry. They just said assistant because it was easier. Without Cacee pushing for Jess her career wouldn’t have gone the way it did. They became good friends bc they were close in age and both Texas girls. But she actually DISLIKED nick and was the one there for Jess in her divorce and they are best friends to this day. Editing is everything. And this is coming from someone who did PR in LA professionally for most of my 20’s. It’s not a fun show if it shows everyone just bland boring and getting along so they edit it to look a certain way. She was the one who helped Jess get sober as well.

I’ve been watching a lot of these videos and it takes me back to when I was first married as well and I see traits of Jessica that is confirmation that she definitely has ADHD. I didn’t realize the signs and symptoms until being diagnosed but she has all of the symptoms. Nick always commented about how messy she was and very disorganized, etc…. It was ADHD.

The way she talked about the maid was gross and entitled, and I even sense a twinge of prejudice not gonna lie. Nick was very understanding and gracious on the other hand. Just now 🙄🙄 finally, was able to listen to Open Book on Audable. Anyways....For all those with negative comments, just take a min to think about being in your early 20's, newly married & then all of America gets to see some of your private life on tv 😮 I feel like that takes so much more mental strength than Jess is ever given credit for. Making it in that environment for even the 3 years that Newlyweds was on tv without a big public breakdown is a accomplishment to me. Especially now since I've listened to the book & have heard the back story to all of what we thought was the "Reality" of Jess's life.
