Fun fact: Other cars also had extra stones placed under the wheels to improve approach angles and they still scraped. These stones got moved when Nexon's turn came and it still didn't scrape!

Can increase ground clearance of any crossover and it will perform well.

We get the cheapest model available in Jeep's portfolio and that too a monocoque chassis one. If you take that too with a 2wd then it is no different than a Seltos. Jeep name won't make it more "off-road" than any other crossover

Jeep is the heaviest car amongst all. It's so strong and heavy.

Agree, the Nexon really 'punch'ed above its weight in this test. And all this without traction control or off-road modes.

Lol before Nexon and Seltos, there was the segment starter Renault Duster. It is still the most capable in it's segment.

Also Tata already borrowed chassis from Land Rover, and can't develop a seperate AWD for their cars as no one buys it. And it will fail as well given Tata reliability

Your logic is very flawed sadly. Both Nexon and XUV 500 are fwd, but their weight difference is MASSIVE. You could give a height increase to a Santro or Alto and watch it compete with Nexon with all it's 800Kgs of weight😂.

@@shahan484 no matter how you want to put down nexon, it has proved in the video, just look at the wheel articulation of nexon, it climbed in a relax manner with minimal wheelspin because its weight distribution and ESP does the job pretty well, try with your alto, it will wheelspin like crazy and it will get stuck, and i know alto as it was my first car long time ago and i have got stuck many times. And nexon too is a heavy car for its size.

@@STgauss3268 in offroading bits, you have to carry momentum, otherwise even a Fortuner can get stuck. Also Nexon weighs 1200kgs and XUV 500 weighs 2 Metric Tonne. And the Alto bit, I go to hill stations 2 times every year and seen Alto perform better than my RWD Scorpio. Still if i were to buy into Nexon segment, I'll buy Nexon no doubt.

@@shahan484 not all the time that we need to carry momentum in offroading, there is a thing called articulation too, modern vehicles are being taken care by ESP to channel torque to the wheel with the most grip in such conditions, check this out ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lMN6F-UxMck.html, nexon climbed with old 4x4 jeeps relaxing with almost zero wheelspin and if you observe carefully, the articulation is impressive for a FWD, alto would have knock off its trail in such scenario, it would have lost balance and end up facing left or right as it struggles, in the above video too although it's sandy, nexon did well and better than others. No xuv500 is not 2 metric tons, it weights at 1845 kg that is 600kg more than a petrol nexon which is 1250kg as mentioned in its registration certificate.

But you can't find many Indian brands running internationally whereas Chinese cars are conquering the market. Probably due to bad safety rating. You can hardly find any successful Indian brands running in the Middle East.

True, a lot of folks couldn't believe that the Punch made it through all the obstacles.

To be fair, the Compass has very road biased tires. But I agree that it should have done better given its off road genes from Jeep.

@@AD.24 Jeep is a heavier and bigger vehicle. Even Santro and Alto with increased height can compete perform better than Nexon just because they are so light. You don't know about the off-road world maybe, a Suzuki Gypsy and Thar can go where no Fortuner and Endeavour can go. Weight matters buddy.

@@shahan484 well I suggest you watch Anshuman bishnoi channel on RU-vid for offroading and specially type Jeep offroading you will know the truth. I am sure you will get answers on Jeep, Fortuner, That, Endeavour capability as well. Let's talk on proofs.

Jeep was honestly let down by its tires and suspension. The tires are very road biased and lose traction at the slightest provocation. The suspension of the Jeep is also a bit too stiff for such terrain leading to the bouncing and it being unable to put down power.

It's totally the Bridgestone all season tires not really suited for this terrain. Now the question is was this the 4*4 model or 4*2 and which drive mode was it on? auto/sand

Jeep Ground Clearance is bit low compared to XUV & NEXON, otherwise Jeep power & safety is no.1 compared to all 3 cars👍👍👍

Hi, The best way would be to try it in the real world. But I wouldn't doubt it too much as the Petrol DCT has more power, similar torque and gets the rough road modes. The Diesel Seltos performed better in the Sand mode. The only deal breaker could be the initial hesitancy of the DCT.
