Interesting. the video leaves out the most interesting stuff though. We want to know battery weight and kwh, thats the only way to compare to sp140. 45 min flight time doesnt say much since its so dependent on glider and flying style. However this looks really promising, keep up the good work. I saw in the comments that you was afraid people would think a specification video without flying would be boring. Dont worry about that, we who has been flying for a while is so sic of watching paramotorvideos where they just fly around without context😄
@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 4 месяца назад
ah cheers mate. yes after posting so many videos where i mention the battery size i simply forgot. that being said i also thought we can just take the sp140 pack and compare that directly. but that seems to be off for some reason. different motor, different efficiency. different props, weight blabla. the battery you see in this video here is 24s 100v 30Ah. or 2.7kwh at 11kg i think? and the flights we did before were more or less 35-45min depending on how you fly, what wing, weather etc. but here is the thing: with the ultra light weight prototype i build and much smaller motor we reached a flight time on the beach with a 24m wing of 35 minutes. battery pack barely 2kwh (7.7kg pack weight). total take off weight is 19kg so far which will be less in the future. so if we just take kwh and throw a flight time in the room we can be off by a fair bit. i will post unedited videos in the future where i put the unit on a scale to show the weight. show battery and display, then take off for an uncut flight. join me on the next tests if you like. i am also excited to see the results.

@@cloudpandarism2627 allright here it goes! The perfect eppg would ofc be 20kg and 3 hour flight time:D But as of right now i would be happy with 1 hour FUN flights at around 30kg and 1,5 hours if just cruising trimmed in. I would also want to be able to ditch the battery in flight in case of fire, like an emergency handle to pull that releases the battery and let it hang 5m below by a wire so it doesnt drop in someones head.

Great to see the CP v3 update! So, what's the anti-faceplant feature? Love the spinner! I want some for our FPV quads too :)
@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 5 месяцев назад
haha yes the spinner have absolute no reason but its kinda my thing.🤪 the face plant protection is a new feature i developed with the ESC factory. a gyro inside the display have roll and pitch settings. there is a menu where you can set the angle to whatever you want. if the pilot slip and fall down on launch the first thing most people donis putting their hands out to stop the fall right? and whats in the hand ready to go full power accidently? the throttle. the gyro will recognize if he trips and fall, cutting power to the motor and slam an emergency brake on so if the glider with all lines start to fall onto the pilot with the motor at full power on it will not result in a crazy expensive failure where the wing is shredded and prop broken. same goes for trikes. usually they tip over sideways. angle can be changed to roll in that case with the same function. at launch or landings a small mishap will stay a small mishap and not end up in a huge clusterfrock disaster because somebody squeeze throttle on impact and go full power accidently. "but what if pilots are professional and dont want this?" i hear you say? simple. the entire function can be turned off as well.

@cloudpandarism2627
@cloudpandarism2627 4 месяца назад
also a great comment! here is what i found in tests: while gasoline engines will be loud at all angles i saw EPPGs are very different depending on where you are. if you stand in front or directly behind the noise is louder. but if you start walk around a running EPPG it gets almost silent when you reach the side. same goes for a flying EPPG. a pilot flying away from you will be louder. when he is directly above you almost silent and flying towards you usually same because the motor is at low RPM or off for landing. a 3 blade prop will have more thrust, less vibration and the noise is at a higher pitch which makes it seem to be a bit more quiet. but actually the 2 blade prop is less noisy. i almost prefer that for flying myself. the deep low pitched rumble at lower throttle is very very comfortable on the ears.

uuuuh! this is an excellent question and i shall put that on top of my list for the next Q&A video! the lightweight prototype i build ready to fly around 19kg right now i would consider as a ATOM80 style unit. but there is a difference. while an atom80 puts out around 45-49kg thrust on a prop most people fly with this combo, my unit will have 55-65kg peak thrust. but thats not continuous as long as you like. if you adjust your mind a bit how to fly electric you will use that peak thrust only occasionally for fun or in a tricky situation where you need it to get out of a dangerous situation. jumping a tree or sudden powerlines that kind of stuff. but you are talking about this video and i would answer 250 to 280ccm engine level. my moster 185 with a 130 prop had around 70-73kg thrust while this EPPG with the biggest motor can throw around 90kg plus at the pilot. also for short bursts only. that means 10-20 sec of spaceshuttle hardcore climbing. this thing goes like a elevator on speed. innever felt such crazy climbrate before. with the new temperature sensor inside the motor the pilot can basically hold throttle wide open which wasnt possible before because the motor would burn. now the ESC will reduce power a bit to prevent that. in my other video i climbed to 550 meter while holding 90% throttle almost the entire time and that was on a very sluggish ENA wing. brute forced my way up. no problem with the motor. summing it up: this one 280ccm smaller lightweight unit 80-100ccm

@@cloudpandarism2627 I guess I am just the opposite. I would love to see how the frame goes together, the workings of the hand controller, the connection of the motor to the frame, swing arm set-up, the weight of the unit, and so on. I think many people would love it and you can always edit in some flying to break things up. I have a channel where I review paragliding gear I use and the most views are on the detailed stuff. Thanks again.
