It's not giving you're music to Christians, it's giving God the glory for the talent He bestowed upon you, but to each his own.

I think NF was actually wise talking about his relationship with God the way he did. Like he admits he does get lost in his thoughts and that he doesnt talk to God as much as he thinks he does. It feels real and is relatable. Thanks for showing the interview.

As a Christian I get where he's coming from. NONE of us are perfect. We all have questions. It's real easy to judge someone from an interview instead of looking at yourself.

NF is Gifted, but conflicted with doubt about Jesus Christ. He said it himself, "I don't see myself as a Christian Rapper." Enough said. We need to pray for each other and not judge. 🙏🏽💛✌🏽

I feel conflicted about this because I understand what you are saying but also think that if we are truly saved and understand what God has done for us then we should do everything to the glory of his Kingdom and not to build up ourselves.

I’m a die hard Christian and I listen to NF. Mainly because he speak some real stuff & he doesn’t curse in his music. The moment he curse or show a sinful mindset then I’m out. Plain & simple. Which is why most prolly associate him as being a Christian artist because he’s not cursing in his lyrics, talking bout drugs, money, fame, etc. real recognize real no matter who you are.

And that my friends is what happens when you grow up inside a religion and not a way of life based on Jesus. The problem with most churches is that they follow tradition not the bible. God bless NF I hope one day he use his talent to fight against evil

The deeper I did dive into this comment section the more I got scared. It's really toxic how, mostly christian people, judge NF by his struggle

I feel like when people only use the term "God" and never refer to Jesus, shows me were there at in their faith.

Update for yall, he is still a Christian. He has a very strong faith and you can hear it in his new music. God gave him this as an outlet and now NF has a kid. He is blessed.

There’s nothing wrong with being a deep thinker. There’s also nothing unusual about questioning God. Even the disciples often did so. But there has to come a time when you lay down your desires and plans and surrender to God’s. If you know God you’ll know peace.

Everyone is going off saying how NF isnt a christian rapper but hes a Christian and all that, let me break it down for you, in one of his songs he says I'm a Christian but I am not perfect. NF has never once described himself as a Christian rapper, he is just a lyricist and probably the one of the best in the entire game. My main problem with religion, ESPECIALLY christianity is how EXTREMELY judgmental everyone is towards someone. Just because someone has a different belief than you does not give you the right to judge someone based on the fact they dont agree with what you said it does not and should not give you the right to say whether someone is christian or not.

So sad to see mostly Christians in this comment section judging him. Ugh... Regardless of his religious beliefs NF talents and hard work have truly inspired people to become better people themselves. He's saved lives with his music and is is doing the world good. I wish these people would keep an open mind and try to understand him before they criticize and think they have a right to judge him. He has so many songs where he openly expresses his love for Jesus and the song I'll Keep On speaks of his struggle to remain close to God. I can relate to it soooo much. We all struggle and he isn't any less Christian just because he has doubt. He needs prayer and encouragement

From what he raps, when you listen to the lyrics it's as a narrative of a man who knows his position and where he needs to be. I believe he is more aware of why he stated he is not a "Christian Rapper" then the audience even knows... and by far i am not judging him, but his own lyrics state "Take it from me, I am nothing but a hypocrite I hate sin, but I built a house and I still live in it Afraid to open up the door to you and let you into it".. This man is able to reach a broad audience because he does speak on real life moments and experiences that have had a tremendous impact on individuals lifes mainly the youth, but you got to be careful as he states "So I chain my soul to the heartbreak" because it can happen. I'm not saying it's easy or wrong for admitting where your at in life but you need encourage yourself in the Lord and set a direction to follow, and that example is by Christ. Allowing him to heal you, give him time and be patient he'll do his part. But you have to do yours as well... God Bless

I love how nf is so real with his relationship with God, so many Christians are so judgemnetal because they think that if you’re Christian you have to be Christian rapper, Christian singer or whatever,God has a different purpose for everyone is not going to look like everyone else because God made us different with different talents, God doesn’t care about a title, he cares about you as a person

I really like a lot of NF's music, & much of the early stuff definitely showcases his faith front and center. But to say "I know there's A God" that's not good theology. All religions say there's A God. Then the interviewer claims to be "spiritual" and thinks that whatever god you choose really just lives inside of you. WHAT?? That's anti-Christian and anti-biblical and NF just nods and goes along with it. Now I'm not saying he should've shut down the interview and evangelized this guy but I sure hope he did afterward. Yahweh is the 1 and ONLY God. Yahweh revealed Himself in all 3 facets (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) in the Bible. Christianity must be based on the Bible ALONE.

Pray NF gets a true relationship and finds who Christ really is. Its usually what most do we only come to him in help but never talk to him to say hi to give thanks or even to pray for others. NF is being called to come back home, he has these thoughts on whats the purpose of life,creation etc because his spirit man believes but his flesh is conflicting with the spirit...theres a misconception about CHH its not limiting but all about giving glory to the kingdom(kb,bizzle,datin etc) at the end of the dau God gave the gift so why not give glorify him through your gift. If aint Christ its of the adversary not be even sound judgmental at all but truth is there's no in between.

Honestly (and I’m assuming a lot right now), a lot of NF’s depression could stem from being conflicted between the world and God. “I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.” - Romans 7:15 There’s no right or wrong way of giving God praise and glory. His walk with God may not look like yours, but as he states in the interview, not everyone thinks the same way - especially Christians.

Just leave the man alone, he's struggling with his own issues without people questioning his faith. He thinks about this stuff and has doubt in his mind, the faith is there to bridge that gap that doubt creates

Tray, look up Christian Atheist. It’s a real thing. It’s when you believe in God but live like he’s not real. Just be careful who you’re letting in your life and pay attention to if you are a Christian Atheist or not. Because you can’t live for the world but also live for God you have to choose one or the other. The Bible says deny yourself and pick up your daily cross. One of the reasons people love NF is because he has some kind of relationship or at least an idea of God but yet is clearly a flawed human. We need Christian rappers who are devout to also be flawed humans too. The bible is about flawed humans. That’s what people are longing for. Truth and honesty.

I feel a bit conflicted on this,because like I am a Christian and so NF says he is one,but if he says he is one he has too believe in God 100%. That is what God says. Effectively sharing the Gospel with the lost requires diverse voices. We don't all respond to the same things, therefore we need people who can reach into the places that the average church goer can't or won't. A Christian who raps and speaks on the struggles of life, fear, depression, and faith is going to be able to touch the hearts of those who need it most much more effectively than the artist who preaches to the choir, so to speak. There is certainly a place for artists who edify the church with their music, but being a warrior in the trenches requires an artist of a different breed. Someone who isn't afraid to be open about his faith or his shortcomings, someone who hasn't been polished to please the converted, but who has been redeemed and forged under fire to reach the lost. The path to salvation is extremely narrow and specific, but Jesus meets everyone right where they are, and without messengers willing to break out of the confines of what church people find comfortable, so many of those people would never know that Jesus is ready to take them as they are. All that to say, artists like NF can have a massive impact where others might not. It's okay to be honest about your imperfections, and to distance yourself from those whose calling is different from your own. It doesn't equate to a lack of salvation, as some have suggested. It just demonstrates the realities of life as a finite and sinful creature grappling with the truth and nature of an infinite and perfect God.

Communication with God, is the most important thing someone can do as a Christian. Its like not talking to the wife at times when both partners are sitting in the same room. Church is that room where we speak to God and He speaks to us. God doesnt have to literally speak. He speaks through His word, and He speaks through the sermon. Through TV and circumstances at home, etc.

ok 2 years late and no one will see this but I feel like I have to say something. NF is being honest in this interview. as he always is. so stop judging him. I was always taught that to truly love God and honor him, you have to love each other. yet so many people are getting mad at NF bc he's not the perfect poster boy if Christianity. no one is perfect. I know I'm not. and I have no place to judge where NF is in his relationship with god. I love NF bc he's real and he helps people, which I think is exactly what God wants from him. and I think he doesn't distinguish himself as a "christian rapper" bc he doesn't want to alienate anyone who is not Christian

Aw man... his (possible) faith side was what was so attracting for me to his music as a whole. Otherwise there’s so many other rappers all rapping just about there life and stuff.

What I loved about this is I get what NF had to say about like the time in his life where he started thinking deep about everything and how he was not sure if god actually exists and how he felt guilty and stuff and he found his way back and I really needed to hear that I've been beating myself up about how I really doubted him at times and it's really good and reassuring to know it's normal and I can find my way back over time

I’ll admit I was a little taken back by this interview but as a Christian, I pass zero judgment. He seems like a very troubled soul with a beautiful heart . His music is absolutely beautiful and I see him feeling such deep troubles within . Jesus loves you the way you are ❤️

I came across your video because I'm a huge fan of NF. His interviews are really rare but yeah hearing him speak about this I love it. He seriously is a very real and honest person. Watching his interviews makes me like him even more. The fact I'm an atheist and he's not pushing me away as a fan. Also the fact he was very clear about not being a Christian rapper makes me respect him more. He's dropping a new album soon. I'm fuckin excited!
