This was the theme music NBC used for their NFL coverage starting with Super Bowl XXVII and all throughout the 1993 season until the AFC Championship Game. GO BILLS!!! In higher quality
I always thought the 94 should've never been changed. I heard it for years playing in the back of my mind, and then found it on youtube back in 2011ish.
@rug792 yes it was used for only one year. It actually debuted in January of 1993 for the first Cowboys-Bills Super bowl (played at the Rose Bowl) and was used for the last time at the Chiefs-Bills AFC championship game in January of 1994.
1993 was the first year I started watching the NFL, and despite my favorite team being in the AFC, I have almost no recollection of this theme. That's how forgettable it was. Definitely remember the 1994 theme though.
They had the classic "bell" theme in the '86-'88 seasons, which was glorious. Then the switch to John Tesh's "Gridiron Dreams" which was pretty good but slight downgrade from the previous theme. Then the '92 theme which was wildly forgettable and underwhelming, sounding nothing like a football theme. This one wasn't as bad but still doesn't cut it IMO. The one in '94 was OK but nothing special. By '95 they again had a glorious theme that was catchy and helped inspire, used through the end of their coverage of the AFC after the '97 season.
