I mean 2015 may had impressive filter that they used but since it's only night time that's why it looked impressive. What about in the day? I know there was cinematic tool that enable it and it didn't look that great. My theory is the filter that they used is so smart that hides every low LQ textures while in NFS Payback they didn't manage to do that and failed. The game is so dark that it was hard to see every LQ texture. Nowadays they make it quite bright. If they kinda imply it will be nice (like Project Unite for NFS Heat) but that works mostly for the night only. Now most textures that they use is in HQ but still some textures can be noticed even in NFS Unbound that are rather LQ. This probably could be because of the limitation of Frostbite engine. And idk why but Frostbite 2 that they used for NFS TR had more character than Frostbite 3 (even if the textures in NFS TR were dogshit) but the atmosphere was impressive.
lexus didn't forget how to make good cars they just don't make a new lfa because it's expensive to make and when the lfa came out no one wanted to buy it
@@ElaboratorOfToast If you are NFS UG die-hard fan maybe yes. But remember the most successful NFS - Most Overrated 2005 is day only (unless if you don't use mods).
@@ApocryphoxYou really can’t argue that more wet=better looking. You’d still need a decent looking game graphically for rain or wetness to do anything more, and even without things like that there are perfect examples of a great looking game from before, during, and after 2015 that proves this. Its more aesthetically pleasing and satisfying when you have more reflections and whatnot but ultimately just because a game has a wet environment doesn’t mean it that it looks good because it has a wet environment.
@@oo--7714 no, its more shading and blurring, devs had to do much more to make graphics look good. Now devs are lazy, they have all the resources and tech now.
It’s funny that NFS 2015’s graphics were so good that they’ve been playing a game of catch up for the past 8 years to make the games look graphically impressive again. Lol.
@@khoavo510 But that's the thing. It probably has the most realistic lighting effects when it's night that i ever seen. You saw the comparision in the clip. 2015 also has a more realistic color palette
@@No-vq1iv wait til they decide to put down the server, it'll be offline. I like 2015 but the constant online features just pure garbage. Now Heat still my No.1 and Rivals (2nd) police chasing is much more fun.
Right? I hate being in the middle of a race and out of no where a player driving around the map and I accidentally collide causing me to lose the race.
The lighting in 2015 was absolutely what sealed the deal for me. The textures, physics, model detail, etc has all arguably gotten better, but the lighting has never hit the bar that 2015 set. It was as close to perfect as any game has ever been
@@ray4493 nah it had bad physics bad models a really cringe story with weird videoclips it was always night and the time of the day depended on your position on the map and it was really boring (at least the story)
@ray4493 Honestly, i don't fully disagree with them. The game wasn't great. The physics kinda sucked, racer ai was rubberbandy as hell, 75% of the events could be beaten by a toddler, then there was a difficulty spike big enough to make a real life f1 driver rage quit. The atmosphere, visuals, music, police AI, and customization were its best aspects. Most of my time was spent just roaming around the map pretending to be some vagabond in a beastly tuned car looking for trouble, not actually completing events or the story.
And to mention also that 2015 NFS was the last one to have the "mythical" Toyota Supra and it's soundtrack was definitely the last time we've heard something that remotely resembles past NFS games soundtracks (It actually have some of those past soundtracks). Whether people hate or love it... Ghost made a love letter the best way they could or knew how back then to nighttime street racing need for speeds with NFS 2015...the same way they've done with NFS Rivals being a love letter to prior NFS with super and exotic cars only!
Tbh nfs 2015 has graphics WAY ahead of its time, i think its the best looking racing game i have ever seen, also super optimized! Nvidia 660 gtx can run it at 60 fps easily
No, its just wet cars at night. It's nothing impressive. Most Wanted 2012 already looked better and had day and night cycle. It has one lame look, relying on darkness to cover it's visual shortcoming with godawful gameplay and broken promises. It doesnt deserve to be held on pedestal at all.

If 2015 came out in 2023 it would honestly probably be one of the best looking car games of all time what they did 7 8 years ago was insane that still looks better than new games today it honestly needs a remaster to fix a few little things and it would be 👌
@LukePlayzGamez Not really. It would be a plain update since that really wouldn't require it being a remaster. Also it was on the ps4 which they can just push an update to fix that and be done with it. The servers on the game are still active (although buggy AF on ps5. Cops going absolute speed crazy and your NOS being absolutely infinite. The game is a complete bugged mess. They would have to remake the whole game to fix all that. They obviously won't waste their resources on it. Especially with the poor reception it got
@@adiflied What is wrong with its physics? For me it is far better than heat and unboumd which are pure arcade style. Nfs 2015 have some dose of simulation in it.
NFS 2015 looks like an illegal street racing simulator, every detail of this game really describes the conditions of real street racing activities, One of my favorite detail is that the police in this game will catch you when you drive at high speed in front of them no matter you are racing or just cruising around.
Your favourite ain't new or only limited to 2015 dude, many other titles features it too like heat feels much better cuz night cops even take a bribe unlike day cops..
@jeffthegod_ Just because mods may have fixed it does not mean the base game is good. I will never defend a game just because mods make it better because they make every game better. The handling model was the worst that I have ever played in any game, and when the most important part to a game is shit then almost always it is shit. I understand people like the game for other reasons, but nobody who likes it actually truly criticizes it. Like my favorite game is nfs prostreet and I understand that while I like it it has many many problems and I can understand why a large number of people hate it. Sorry if this was long I was just trying to say that the nfs 2015 fans seem to just remove all of EAs liability to the game because they enjoy it and while I am happy they enjoy the game you still need to point out where EA fucked you in the ass at some point.
Remember this game was made in a much shorter time then what they needed while having less people to work on it because a lot of the team was working on bf2042, for how quickly it was made it’s a good game and it’s been very fun to play
it looks like complete shit , if unbound released in 2014 i'd say so , they splashed hella cartoon pop ups everywhere and matte graphics and called it a day , don't give multi million dollar companies benefit of the doubt
In all fairness, Unbound was never made to be realistic, just some elements of it. The teams main goal was a stylized game, where realism and 3D street-art with celshading collide to give you a contrast between the boring, grey city & generic traffic cars and the illegal, further-from-society streetscene & more vibrant, customised sportscars
@@youravghuman5231 It was not decent. It's horrible. Gameplay it catastrophicly bad, mainly because of awful handling and physics, bad engine sounds(sound samples are ok, but way it plays them is same garbage as NFS RIvals which already messed up MW2012's sounds on majority of the cars). It has one lame look that people praise it for like dull monkeys and act like it was something good, when it wasnt. It was just a mediocre improvement over Rivals, and only improvement being tuning being a tiny bit more expanded with set of ugly ass parts, still being worse than what black box gave us even in their most limited games. The Run had better bodykits and parts to select, and Undercover, ProStreet and Carbon had autosculpt. Most Wanted had great selection of fantasy bodykits and spoilers, with only few being rather iffy(mostly because they were the worst of Underground 2 bumpers slapped on some cars like Lexus IS300 1st kit) Also its not the customization that matters but gameplay and handling and NFS2015 is the worst in the series in that aspect.
Unbound and heat are both better games than 2015 lmao. The gameplay..the customization..the world..shit it doesn't even look better..it's just cause it's always dark and raining
It's an awesome game, just needed more things in the game, sad that people couldn't get the game down, the cars did lock up at times but it was manageable and made easier to handle that lockup with tuning, the game should've had tons of customization like most wanted, carbon and ug titles, including more cars, I remember when people would try and joke saying the game felt like you were on rails, this game was awesome & special nowadays the newer NFS titles don't come close to how good 2015 was, and the team behind newer titles even tries dissing their own players there is a track on need for speed unbound where they actually have you racing on train rails

I won't say Unbound was a bad game but it was still lacking Heat is still better then Unbound since it has better handling, cops and a more enjoyable story but thats just my opinion.
It is so sad to see EA downfall really. Fans don't want some anime style gameplay, we want a remake of their best like Underground 2 or Most Wanted. And also 2015 game is superior than lastest game. It's unbelievable.

Ea has no chance anymore unless, if they stop being idiot and start to get smart, remake the underground, get back to your actual graphics that you were doing back then, then they might have a chance to get back to track. They thought buying Codemasters would save them but no way. Codemasters were already awesome in all aspects like graphics, handling and etc. Ea is still nothing and they started to ruin their job as well. I wish we could just have a new great NFS game with visuals, art direction, and atmosphere just like NFS 2015. No goofy cartoon/comic style BS or I wish there was another AAA racing game out there that delivers that said vibe. Aside from the atmosphere, the views and points of interest in NFS 2015 is beautiful. Similar to NFS underground 1 & 2 at the time. It always has that calming midnight vibe.
Agreed like I said with another comment here, the game just needed cops like mw, carbon and ug where they give a challenge, tons of parts customization to mix and match, maybe even adding autosculpt, more cars, and more challenging ai cars roaming the streets, bigger lobbies as well, allot of content the game needed but it's still better than the newer titles now
@JoshuaS-gj5pw the current NFS games have more customization options and more vehicles than any other NFS games Unbound literally has over 140 vehicles all with a plethora of customization UG2 only had 27 vehicles and the only customization options it offered over the newer ones is the stupid split open hoods and interior sound system. But the current ones have canards, splitters, roof/hatch, exhaust, and head/rear light customization options
@@P_D-px6iv Hahaha unbounds customization is actually really bland, that is a delusional comment, more cars yes, but the customization doesnt come close to previous titles, even the wheel selection is embarassing, its been nearly the same for the past few years, what happened to roof scoops, aftermarket/ autosculpt selections, the spoilers, wheels in carbon outnumber unbounds, maybe the amount of cars you see if giving an illusion of customization but its hilariously low, and youre only saying underground, what they need to do is bring all the customization parts from previous titles and add them, i dont get this whole idea of getting rid of old parts, and only having things that are modern, perhaps licensing issues im sure but its lame knowing all the customization nfs can have, you can find tons more customization parts online for whatever car you use in game, go look at the skyline iin unbound when it comes to front bumpers, 3 similar nissan branded ones with only one front bumper that actually has been around for awhile which is good, but there is tons more out there yet they dont bother adding more, perhaps its all about licensing and they cant do that for all those cars, and thats why they made their own kits and hoods in games like mw carbon etc they arent using their imagination and probably choose not to since they may want to charge for all that effort
@@JoshuaS-gj5pw roof scoops are dumb af and there's plenty of spoiler options maybe not as many but atleast more so than forza, not to mention alot of vehicles have different trunks too Most those autosculpt kits were also awful you're blinded by nostalgia or have terrible taste bro. The only ones that looked good were a few wide bodies like the M3s, GTR, and maybe a couple of the Porsche's The one for the Supra is probably the ugliest Supra kit ever rendered I'll give you the rims and spoilers but it's not like all the rims in those games looked good alot were trash They still make their own 3D rendered parts did you not play Payback? @@P_D-px6iv your comment is laughable, roofscoops look good, this isnt about what you specifically like or dont, no one is saying to strictly bring back the kits from previous titles, its to bring those back and expand on the customization, instead of taking things out while leaving other stuff in, customization is one of the main things that makes a racing game like nfs, no ones trying to sell you on anything, youre just another npc nfs player, and no ones trying to sell you on anything, the team just needs to expand on every single part we can customize with more options, you have no clue, this isnt about nostalgia, i simply know more about what makes a racing game than you do, while youre ok with content being cut out im the opposite, oh wow a bumper delete hahahaha yeah thats so cool........ i dont think people would be complaining if the game had tons more customization, " nostalgia " hilarious, have a Blessed day
Coming from a long time NFS fan. someone who played every single NFS, NFS 2015 was such an amazing game and a step in right direction, a true reboot of the series, I honestly thought that they would continue down that road, it had so much Underground vibes and great future, but few years later we got to the Unbound, which is totally different and nothing what NFS is supposed to be. Payback was a nice game as well, but the problem with NFS games is they are completely redesigning them every single release, Heat was a start of step down, and TBH Unbound feels like Mobile game.
Personally I like 2015's look better. Yes, Unbound technically has better graphics which becomes obvious when looking at reflections for example but I prefer 2015's overall look. I gotta say though that none of the recent NFS titles utilize current gen graphic capabilities which is kind of a shame considering everything after 2015 ran progressively worse without actually improving that much. And yes, I do remember 2015 hated PCs with HDDs (falling through the ground)
Do yo know that the game is painted so that it looks perfect. While unbound has dynamic lighting. If you use the daylight mod for 2015 you will see how bad the graphics are
NFS 2015 has the most realistic cops and you will never see a crown Vic chasing you down in your 1200hp tuner unless your playing in any other nfs where it’s unrealistic
@FlySPEED89 Okay? It's a game. Never was realistic. A stupid analysis to begin with. Not even most wanted is realistic either. Unless your talking about the logic in the game, but that's just programming. If they wanted to have cops chase us for speeding they can. Guess how many people will butch about it
2015 is better in every aspect in this video lol. I know rain + night is an easy way to make games realistic but damn. I honestly loved playing 2015 and spend a lot of time on this game wheras I just played Unbound for like 8h and never touched it again.
@Copimic The flashlight has no effect or mechanic besides luxury. The cops don't use the lights to spot you. Their field of view is a 360 degree radius so it's just to make it look nice. So it has no functionality.
@@oscarfunez3806 respect his opinion. Btw just because it’s old doesn’t mean it’s inferior. MW 2005 is old and it’s still better than most other NFS games. In terms of physics and graphics, 2015 easily beats Unbound. Have you even seen the character models in Unbound. They’re hideous
People hate the truth. That's why we get shit games because they don't know what they want. When a dev takes the feedback, they deliver. Now all of a sudden we want to turn back what we said.
@that famous redneck The cops nerfed because everyone was complaining in Heat. Now they want that back like "excuse me? Yall dumbasses said it was too hard. Now it's too easy?" If they were to make them like MW 2005 I can guarantee you people will complain. But hey, at least I can shove the straight-up fact that we just suck at the game. Idk man. Just don't bring me to any game conventions or conference. I'd be hated for telling the truth.
Payback, Heat & Unbound - it’s a step to the past in gaming development. 2015 outdrives it’s time. Spoiled children don’t understand the ascendancy of nfs 2015 among other racing games.
The graphics are an illusion. The rain and dark atmosphere make it look realistic, if this game had a day light mode it won’t look as good. You can barely make out any details of the car on the other hand unbound has excellent details.
@@vedanttaneja4428 there should be a big difference after 8 years. If the visuals are this close, then the visuals of 2015 had more effort put into it.
@DANSIM No there wasn't. The darkness covers it all up. Ok are we that stupid to not notice it? So your telling me I can just hide all the crap detail by making things dark and sell a game. Your telling me the community is that gullible
@@oscarfunez3806 no, I'm saying past developers were smarter, because they found ways to make the game visually better with its graphical limitations. Now we got 1080 resolution reflections, so why do devs need to do extra for visuals to look good? They don't do extra as much as the past.
Why cant nfs games look like that now? I know that they render textures nearer and uses a filter which makes it look good close up and since the game is mostly dark they don’t render much ahead, which make it look good. I hope they can make games as good looking as this again, since they removed day/night cycle , I believe they can make the night like how it looked like in 2015, to render close up and make the ones further behind dark. I wish for another game with driveclub day and nfs 2015 night
Nfs unbound is a joke. It came for current gen only yet 8 years old game is better in every aspect. Sth about nfs2015 that makes me go back. Never finished unbound and probably won't.

For me, NFS 2015 eventhough isn't the greatest game of all NFS, at least it hits the mid 2010's car culture vibes real good. Tropkillaz, Ken Block, all the tandem, Rock and Metal were still booming into the golden age of EDM and Rave festival, hiphop feels good and nightlife feels more like those early car meets. NFS Unbound in the other hand feels kinda bad. Don't get me wrong it does fit the modern car culture but as we know modern car culture itself is more like a shitshow of cop magnet, tiktoker inflating these car prizes, people with their apr approved build think they can drift but they only know how to spin out, artists that think tuner is cool than exotic supercar because supercar is out of style, and revbomber that thinks their car has 2-step than a proper one.
The problem is NFS Unbound, Heat, Payback are Open World Games with Cars in it. NFS 2015 is a Car Game in a Open World. Once you understand that you understand why NFS 2015 looks so different (in a good way) compared to the latest NFS
i think they can start on making remakes of older nfs if they dont know what else do. Im not talking of the ones on Arcades, talking about NFSU,2, NFSMW, NFSC, NFSPS, etc.
They can't make remakes because they would have to license the music & the cars again, the Toyotas & any brand with licensing issues today wouldn't return
Rockstar can't fuck up gta 6 can they? If it's as good as rdr2 then we hit the jackpot!!! When a new midnight club game comes out and it's good then ea is toast!!! ALL HAIL NEED FOR SPEED 2015!!!
