In my very small sample size experiment, I found NGC to grade considerably lower.

Your coins look much better than the ones on the NGC site in my opinion. Not sure why you didn’t get 67 on multiples of these

I was definitely disappointed that the 1988's came back MS66, and only 1 MS67. I definitely feel those deserved at least MS67.

Good video, thank you! I am also very interested in Mexican coins and I like the Libertads. Are there any known varieties for the 1984 Libertad? I have a few, including a mint error, but no varieties.

Thanks for watching! As far as I know, there are still no known varieties for the 1984 Libertad, however, there are Proof Like (PL or MSPL) 1984 Libertads which are very scarce! It's cool you have an error. Is it struck thru or lamination error? Or something else?

Do you think it would be worth it to submit the 2018 antiqued libertads out for grading? I am only in at 50 each .

I remember when those were listed, great score! I think it'd be well worth it to send them in, especially since you have so many. That will make the average cost of getting each one graded cheaper.

With the volume of coins being graded these days, I believe they’ve hired a ton of new folks who have less than desirable levels of expertise. That’s a possible explanation…

The one with details grade should have had the attribution, otherwise just body bag it ,Not encapsulate it, and not charge you

Mixing up the obverse and reverse is so fundamental, this result is extremely disappointing.

I believe PCGS to this day still calls the angel side the obverse, which is why they say DDO, but either way, they should be consistent. Good for NGC on calling the angel the reverse, but they shouldn't go mixing it up and sometimes call it the REV and other times the OBV. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I would challenge NGC to comment on this video, of course they're not going to. NGC is very inconsistent in grading. You should have done what T did and sent some to both grading companies. I have libertads that I want graded and I'm going with PCGS when I decide to send. Yes you got screwed on variety description and especially on the grade, way under graded. They should offer refunds. Yea...right. Great video, sorry you definitely got reamed.

For sure, I would love for NGC to respond to the issues raised in this video, but I'm not holding my breath over it, either. I sent to NGC over PCGS mostly because NGC recognizes more varieties and because it would seem that most Libertad collectors gravitate towards NGC, possibly for the same reason. You're an angry Mexican coin collector! Joe - I would hate to see really, really get mad! You say it well - but it comes down to incompetence and not caring about anything about getting your money. Still think it's a farce that you drop that kind of money getting coins certified and it takes 4 months to get back and NGC ships in crappy box. That alone tells me you need to stop using them...But I'm really glad you took the time to research and document the submission as well as appreciating your knowledge. I know the amount of time that it took to put all this together for the submission and sincere thanks in doing it and sharing it with us.

Haha, I'm trying not to be angry, it's just crazy to me how such a large and respected company like NGC can be so wrong and some pretty basic things. And yes, I wish they shipped them back in a nicer box, like PCGS. Oh well... Thanks for watching!
