Thanks for sharing! I'm not surprised. Different rom revisions on carts is nothing new. The fact that some MVS carts have them would seem to lend credibility to my theory that the one with the ladies is simply a later revision.

Who knows why they were omitted from the earlier MVS ROMs. Perhaps they thought it inappropriate for sexy young ladies to be excited over footie, let alone robo-footie!? *shrugs*

I wonder if there are AES copies where they are missing?

Haha, I have my doubts about any AES ones with them missing because I think the version without the ladies is older, and AES carts gets made after MVS, but who knows.

There aren't any Neo Geo games that only use FM sound. Or do you mean all the games that use FM? Because that would be most of the library (the ones that aren't all pre-recorded music, more or less).

We had a discussion about this on neo-geo.com. Yes, it does seem that some later MVS carts have the AES rom.

@@BasementBrothers Japan region doesn't have it on home version either.

It's not based on the region. It's which cart you own. We did an informal poll on neo-geo.com after the video, and the consensus was that some AES carts have the women, while others don't. It just depends which AES cart you own. It's very similar to Magician Lord, where some AES carts are the same as the original MVS release.

@@BasementBrothers not correct. It does matter what region, and if you go and test this on a real AES with a Japan BIOS you'll see no women, go put that same AES cart in the US or Euro region console and the women are back. Same home cart. It's a fact, you can probably test it with an AES and a UniBIOS too. The same home cart gave those exact results, so regardless of your informal poll it DOES matter which region it is.

My brother Mr. Jakes owns half the collection, and he does live in Japan. Most of the MVS carts were $20-30 when we bought them, and they were hauled back to the U.S. from Japan. -Neo-Alec
