I like driving up behind these cats, then casually driving around them stopping next to them and asking if their ok. 10-12 psi in all tyres including the trailer. And your 👌
If there's any doubt about letting your tyres down just look at the little grey Daihatsu that has 2 goes, the first with full tyres then the effortless 2nsd go with the tyres deflated
I loved the comment from the passenger of the Beige Landcruiser Trayback when they first got bogged only metres into the beginning of the track. Passenger - "do you also wanna let the tyres down? Driver reply - "nah she'll be right". Then proceeded to go about 5 metres and really bogged it. Priceless!!!!🤣🙄 They don't seem to understand that its not only the width and flexibility of low pressures that help, your actually trying to lengthen the Tyre flat contact area to resemble the flotation of a Snow Ski on powdery snow - sorta like a mini max track on each of the 4 tyres - 4 almost flat tyres provides a huge amount of floatation OVER the sand.
more like big tires and low pressure.... if you got a good setup you can drive whatever it will still work. if your setup is shit you can be a king at the wheel it will not bring you anywhere.
@@Francois_Dupont Low pressures yes, big tyres, not really. I run 31's & am forever getting further than clowns on 35's & 37's. Never underestimate experience
@@gqwarrior6694 annecdotal evidence doesnt hold. i have a car with 17inch tires and i get stuck in 4inch of wet snow. a car with big wheels is always better in bad condition, the only downside is fuel millage.
Ahhh... the return of the Mud Digger tyres on sand 😂. And then the brilliant logic of turning the wheel left and right in some weird attempt to drive uphill in sand with hard tyres. Classic.👍
@@bushratbeachbum True. That is why BMW X5s and RRS on their hwy orientated rubber seem to cruise past (on sand) Toyotas etc with the aggressive off-road tyres.
I'm so confused do they not let their tyres down? Or is it just that soft? Surely if you have 60 grand worth of vehicle you should know go down on sand?
All the gear no idea that’s the problem the leasing companies don’t teach them how to drive there Shit will be repo’d before they can drive it off the sand hahahah
Just got back Sunday from Fraser. Passed through those. rocks. What a joke. Has to be the easiest sand driving I have ever done. These people have no idea how to drive in sand. I didn't have even the slighest chance of getting stuck. Tyre pressure people and momentum.
you can drive all day on the sand with 20 psi or more in your tyres but once you start driving up or down sand dunes or beach exits you are now driving into the sand not on it 10 -12 psi will do on any tyre , and yes my favourite question ( i live on a driving beach) is the sand soft lol my answer is all sand is soft !
@@Francois_Dupont Except salted roads cause cars to rust much faster. Translate that to salt water, where the huge concentration of salt, combined with all the water will further speed up the process. Drive through a deep puddle and all that corrosive salt water gets up into your electrics, chassis rails, small gaps in your suspension components and running gear. Potentially even into the body of the car. The car WILL have corrosion issues and rust. Washing will never get rid of everything and underbody sprays just trap any residual salt. Yes, car chassis have zinc coatings these days, but that is a delay, not a cure and does nothing to protect the components or body and paint.
@@adamsimpson2041 no. sea water is just 3.5-5% salt, on Canadian road its 100% salt. it takes about 10-15years for a normal car driving all year on salted road to start having holes into the body and pannels. going into 3.5% salt water for a day or two is literally nothing. if you just drive around after when its raining it might be enough to wash most of the little salt accumulated. going "OHHH OHHHHHHHH!" when somebody is driving into sea water and expecting the car to fall apart later that weak is not only ignorant and simple minded, but very childish behavior.
@@Francois_Dupont It's not 100% salt going on your car. It's mixed with melted ice and snow, general much and grime, and potentially sand if that was also spread on the road. There is also a MASSIVE difference between a bit of spray off your tyres getting some salty gunk under your car, and flooding every single gap with salt water. That's not even mentioning the statement of 10-15 years TO GET RUST HOLES. Thats an atrociously short life span that not only decimates your resale but is quite frankly dangerous. We like to look after our 4x4s here in Aus.
How fu#king difficult is it low range 2 gear all the way don't stop for gods sake 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I've done this stretch about a dozen times 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ come on now people.
The Trax on the rax really are just for show! After clowns like these have been through and turned it into talcum powder, 18 to 15 PSI. I’ve done all these tracks in an old Hilux with no lockers and had no trouble. Never needed to use Trax or a winch. Never needed to be snatched out.
hilux weigh nothing.. there gutless, & with std tires.. useless.. 700 x 16.. ??,, the hell is that.??.. japs build vehicles to drive out the factory.. nothing else.. like say....79 series.. totally wrong.. 4.5v8 tdi,,who the hell builds a 4 lt diesel.???.. 5 lt minimum,, like in the nissan titan.. cummins.. a real diesel.. foton tunland. 2.8 cummins.. a real diesel.. 80 series tdi. 110 kw.???... bs.. turbo..
So funny that landcruiser it runs like an airplane since it was on the softsand just suddenly walk like tortoise🤣🤣🤣. I think his from other club, the undeflatable tyres club 😆😆🤣🤣🤣😂😂
Drop your pressures & you'll be fine. You're nice & light so should walk through everything with ease. Take recovery boards with you & walk the crossings before driving them
ahh the continual saga of idiots and maxtraxs versus the ones that let the correct amount of air out of their tyres to get through....pretty easy to see which ones are which...lol lol lol lol
why are metal box so common on australian trucks? arent those more heavy? i saw a couple of offroad australian touring show and everybody has those big metal box on their pick-up trucks.
It's either a tool box canopy for work, or a touring canopy with a slide out fridge, 12v electric system, kitchen etc. Or they just wanted a canopy that's more secure than fiberglass on a tub.
Too many people who should be flying overseas and not 4wding . so many things wrong with how the first guy got stuck. hard tyres, didnt reverse all the way back for another run up, did something which i call digging your own grave. if your not moving forward or back your only going one way and that is down. You think a little investment in some education would go a long way
a good push works better is quicker and can be less work then maxitrax and is also a F load cheaper. if you see maxitrax on a vehicle its a good indication the driver has no clue
Sand driving 101...tow all your shit from your house ..wait until sitting on the rails ..drop tyre pressure with a stick to somewhere around 35 psi ....Then pin it to win it
