That is so true. In my high school freshman English class we were reading The Pearl. Luckily, I read the previous night's assignment on the bus and in homeroom. In the English class that morning the teacher starts asking one dude all these random questions like "what happened after he chewed off his fingernails?", "what happened after he killed a shark with his bare hands?" The kid would answer like it happened. It got to the point where I thought I had read the wrong book. Finally the teacher had enough... And kicked the kid out of class. But, 20 years later I still remember that!
@@brentod1679 like you knew who he was before his passing and he’s a better goalie than you. Clearly he’s good cause he’s in the fucking NHL. I think your just jealous cause he has millions as pocket change from playing his favourite sport while ur just sitting on RU-vid criticizing people.
Sprint across Soweto with burning tire around one's neck was Mandela's favorite sport. He (and his wife) loved it so much, he generously organized these events for his politicial rivals within the ANC.
The one with Darren Pang I can't even imagine how awkward that must have been. I screw up words all of the time and whenever I'm talking about something sensitive I go as slowly as I can. His situation wasn't even sensitive, he was just talking about good hockey players and one of them happened to be black and a tongue twist came in at the absolute worst time. That just sucks, there's no easy way to put it lol.
@@gizmomakify Magic Johnson was a 5x Champ and top five player all time...somehow his son isn't exactly NBA material... My point is, sometimes the apple *does* fall pretty far from the tree...
I remember when Nelson Mandela scored a hat trick one night for the Bruins and then the very next night pitched a no-hitter for the Red Sox. He was an amazing athlete!!! 😆😆
2:57 honest mistake even tho i died laughing, feel bad for the guy and i’m glad it didn’t happen in this year because he’d end up getting fired for it sadly
@@timitri8 glad you can read minds, mind sharing that skills with the group? Better yet support your bs claims with legal proof. If you can’t then save your breath.
it still pisses me off that my dude hits his own goalie in the head with a stick, but doesn't immediately see if he's okay. Just continues his effort to break the stike.
The only thing I can come up with is maybe he was thinking of Jean Beliveau who passed away in December of 2014. This event took place in December 2015 he says that "it's unfortunate that he passed away a year ago" that would make the timeline accurate. Although Nelson Mandela passed away in December of 2013 which is obviously two years before this event. This was an event called "Giants of Africa" so you would think he would realize who they were talking about. He was obviously confused and apologized for his mistake afterwards. Must have been pretty embarrassing for him though.
@@alexleblanc5926 yeah I also think that he was just caught in a really bad moment. Maybe he misheard the question and indeed thought that they were talking about someone else. That also happend a few times to me and I'm sure to anyone here in the comment section.
@@Max-jp1pu As great as McJesus and DraiSaintPeter are, the rest of the Oilers are a trash heap. Until they fix their depth issues, they're gonna remain that way.
Nelson Mandela was a great athlete, I will never forget that birdie he did on a breakaway out of the penalty box against the Winnipeg patriots. Or that interception to win the super bowl in overtime against the Colombus 76ers.. definitely one of the biggest athletes ever..
That beginning one was just kucherov being salty. He’s always been like that, if you watched him against the islanders he ran into one of the dudes after they lost the game, and it happened before whenever he swept some dude as well..
@@danyheatleyall-star3677 fuck you, he’s a great guy off the ice, if you’ve ever met him in person you’d know, and of course he was pissed, that was bullshit of Tampa to not show up during that series. Don’t talk shit about kuch if you don’t know him and don’t know anything about him except for the one or two times that he did something on impulse.
Last one was class. You taking the face-off? Yeah, I'm 5th in the league in face-offs. blah. blah blah. SO I'm probably going to win this one. blah. blah blah. Loses face off like a true clown. (cringe: a pro watching his stats and using it in a comeback that fails)
The incident with Vokoun was not only awkward, but also painful. His teammate probably had no idea until he hit his stick on Vokoun’s instead of the post.
Ballard 2 hands the goalie (by accident, I think we can all agree he wasn't the target) but then just skates away from Vokoun with no concern at all. Just shows how that level of emotion is madness.
If Pang said that in today's climate he'd have been canceled before he even got a real chance to apologize for quite literally an innocent and harmless mistake that could happen to anyone 🤷♀️
I still have so much trouble believing that Ballard was going for the post and not Vokoun. I really think he knew he was taking a frustrated swipe at the goalie and didn’t mean to get him in the head, but definitely meant to connect with him in some way. The fact that he doesn’t even react to making contact with him tells me he was expecting to do exactly that, but wasn’t necessarily expecting to crack him directly across the head.
