Cam Ward 2006 playoff run was elite. He won ROY, Con Smythe, and the Stanley Cup the same year. Patrick Roy did it in 1986 with the Habs too.

Swayman is on fire. It is hard to beat a team when you have MORE shots but a goalie like Swayman saving everything. Florida will definitely feel the anger/anxiety/disbelief. Leaf fan here lol,

I was thinking that too. The difference is in the technique. Swayman is very skilled has great technique - Thomas was more of a fly by the seat of his pants (literally) goalie but the result is the same. In the 2011 final, the Bruins had confidence in their goaltender while the western conference team did not.

They baited the dmen hard, it was a risky plan and the amount of zone time florida got early really had me biting my nails, but when you have that much confidence in your goalie you can afford to cheat in the corners and they caught florida flat footed on so many occasions

i wouldn't get too excited yet. the panthers still had a lot of shots with no luck on rebounds or deflections tonight. that can change. also, the panthers looked flatter than i have ever seen them. the Bs played well for much of the game, but 5--1 was not a score reflective of the actual play. the panthers will play much more aggressively i expect. they can play a lot better defensively than tonight, when they were sloppy and careless at times. strange game outta them.

I know it shouldn't but it kills me that the announcer yells "SCORE" singular and not "SCORES" plural. You score a goal in hockey. "He shoots, he scores!" not "He shoots, he score!"

He was picked 111th overall. Every team in the NHL had like 3 chances to draft him. You can't know in a draft how a player will develop. If Ulmark was having a season like last year, Swayman probably doesn't get as many starting chances. He narrowly beat out Halak for the backup for Rask. If Rask doesn't retire, Boston probably deals Swayman to another team since Ulmark was looking like the legit backup.

@@HopeIsForbiddenHere most hockey fans end up in that position every year. Your favorite team rarely goes all the way. Most fans usually end up rooting for some other team after their team is eliminated and it is usually based on which teams you hate the least. I say that as a Bruins' fan. What you call a strange position happens all the time with almost all sports fans. When your team is eliminated you pick another team you hate the least to root for. I do that when the Bruins get eliminated in the playoffs.

Holy crap Swayman is scary. Everything looks effortless for him right now. The positioning, the movement, the play reading, the reflexes. Also, Florida might wanna reduce Ekblad's playing time. Pretty sure he was on the ice for every Boston goal against, and he kept giving it to Pasta like they were teammates
