Yeah it's a different mentality when you're protecting a lead vs chasing a comeback. You almost have to adopt a chasing the comeback mentality when you're protecting the lead. Keep up the pressure. Hopefully they can put it all together to prevent any more 3rd period collapses.
they tried that last year tho, in game 5 vs the habs they were down 3-1 starting the 3rd, lost 4-3 in OT. in game 6 they were tied 0-0 entering the 3rd, montreal scored twice to make it 2-0, they lost 3-2 in OT. in game 7 they were down 2-0 going into the 3rd, lost 3-1.
The Devils D are the worst. They good offensively but defensively they are soo bad. hamilton,Smith,Severson,Subban are labilities on Defence. Graves is okay at D and the 6th dman who cares.
The Leafs went from blowing leads to blowing other team’s leads. Also I hope Campbell gets his groove on again, all Goalies have their rough spots in the year so I hope people lay off the poor guy.
I think it's fair to say that our defence was probably more responsible for those 1st period goals then campbell was, just a horrible effort all around
Saturday: leafs down 4-2 after the second period, comeback and win 7-4, bunting gets hatty. Monday: leafs down 4-2 after the second period, comeback and win 6-4, Matthews gets hatty. Coincidence? I think not.
*Saturday:* leafs down 4-2 after the second period, comeback and win 7-4, Bunting gets hatty. *Monday:* leafs down 4-2 after the second period, comeback and win 6-4, Matthews gets hatty. *Tuesday:* leafs down 4-2 after the second period, comeback and win 8-4, Mrazek gets EN hatty.
Watching a game in Toronto is like being in a mausoleum. I'm a Toronto fan and I'm a bit jealous when I see how rowdy other cities get. The sad thing is real Toronto fans partly make up the rowdiness, but ticket prices here are stupid high.
Celebrate while you can, we all know who awaits in the 1st round - either the 2-time champs, the young, hungry, DEEP Panthers, or their Kryptonite, The Big Bad Bruins. Elite talent alone won't be enough to overcome both the competetion AND the curse.
That must really tear you apart inside when the Leafs win a game. Take some pills for your ulcers mate, maybe get your doc to prescribe some prozac or something before you have a cardiac arrest
Like it or not….. DD is bang on here. Leafs refuse to accept the fact that regular season hockey is NOT playoff hockey. When push comes to shove, Leafs are softer than Charmin!
@@FK-tz7gs … I completely agree I think he was also very unlucky, he was hitting a lot of posts and a lot of near misses and now finally pucks are going in.
Просто молодцы , проигрывая по ходу матча 2 шайбы одержали победу 6-4 !!! Метьюс с хет триком , браво! Торонто с заслуженной победой! Вот что значит характер!!! КАНАДА вперёд !!!
I didn't read the description before playing the video, and as soon as the announcer said "they've got back to back games against a team that's had trouble winning" I was like, "welp, we're gonna lose tonight!" And then the first two periods proved me correct, and then they did another comeback and I was quite happy. As someone else has said already, can't blow a lead if you don't have one. I'm OK with this new strategy.
@@slipperynodd578 based on geography that's what they are...but being called that is what brings out the haters. I'd rather fans don't call them that because of the hate.
What is with the Leafs and their relationship with 3-1? The Keefe TO makes sense when you see that score is the momentum changer in so many games for them. I love that Mirazik says thank you to his posts as well!
Devils fan here.. Leafs should be winning these games. Glad we put up a strong fight as long as we did but what in the hell was that by Severson at the end.. it looked intentionally bad.
It's really hard to hold the middle when the puck carrier stalls while his teammate charges the net. He's trying to stop the pass, not touch his goaltender, and keep Kerfoot on his side. He obviously failed, but it's quite difficult tbh. It's much easier when the forwards attack in unison.
What the hell was that, Severson? That was the most pathetic keep-in attempt, then it leads to a short handed 2 on 1 and you just stop ahead of the goal? That’s just terrible
Pretty sure that 1st goal is on Tavares. Got caught puck watching a bit. You could also blame it on a sloppy line change. 2nd goal was a bad rebound by Campbell and Holl was unable to box out Boqvist. 3rd goal Liljegren got caught trying to make an aggressive play at the blue line, Dermott defended the 2on1 pretty well, but Campbell got caught cheating for the pass. Hopefully we can clean that stuff up a bit. Defence and goaltending. What an explosive offensive performance by the Leafs though
Good game, feel like the simulation is falling apart because I thought I saw the same thing Saturday. Oh well looks like the “punch yourself in the face to make you go mental” strategy is working for them. Just need to combine the first half of the games a couple weeks ago and the second half of the last 2 and were are juggernauts.
I wonder if Keefe will finally wake up the fact that Campbell needs to rest to get ready for the playoffs, and so it's wise to start Mrazek more often. Keefe's stubborness in starting Campbelll has almost cost the Leafs two games, so it's about time he woke up to the fact that Campbelll needs tor est a bit more. On the upside, good to see the Leafs able to come from two goal deficits in their last wo games and win. The Leafs defensive woes are still the team's most glaring weakness...
@@dnl4ever666 Quite true, but that shouldn't suprise anyone! It was no seccret when Csmpbell came to Toronto that he was a goalie who needed rest - definately not a sixty game a year guy, and that Mrazek would have to play about 30 games this year to keep Campbell at his peak. The last few games, Keefe seems to have fvorgotten that, even though Mrazek has played well since coming back from injury. So, I think Campbell being tired and Keefe hoping it wasn't so almost, as you, say, the Devils, and the Dead Wings breore thm, easy wins.
I think the Leafs need a big and fast guy that throws hits. I don't know if Josh Anderson could be available in Montreal but if so, he'd be worth getting. He's Huge and extremely fast and Montreal needs to go on a rebuild. They wouldn't retain any salary though so wondering how they'd do it. Montreal : Chiarot (50% salary retained), Josh Anderson Toronto : Ritchie, Engvall, Kerfoot, Holl, Robertson, a 1st Rd pick, 2nd Rd pick And although we need size and grit, I'd look to see what the asking price is on Jonathan Drouin if they don't want to move Anderson. Could be a great fit but he does lack that physical aspect the Leafs seem to need
My biggest concern with this team is that how often are they going to be able to make these big come backs? Because at some point they aren't going to explode for 3+ goals every time they're down going into the third
Leave it up to the Leaf fan to bring up the negative...such a permanently pessimistic fanbase. Be thankful you turned 0 points into 2 points and move onto tomorrow. Simple.
Canada's team getting themselves into far too many games where they have to come back from being behind hopefully with A.Matthews starting to score again this'll be a thing of the past month.
What do you guys think is wrong with jack Campbell, since dec 1, he’s been playing soft, and byw good comeback win, like why has Campbell been struggling
Торонто скучно играть без болельщиков, поэтому две в начали получили, чтобы проснуться, ну а далее уже 6 забили. Ну это спасибо Дэвилз, хороший настрой на матч. Торонто пропотели😄
Okay so did Soupy get that Short Hander because he was so quick the D man didn't think he would be on the other side of him or did the D man just make an OHL level play?
Rough night for Campbell again, hope he gets back in form soon. That being said, that's two fairly bad teams the Leafs have struggled with, really need to clean it up back in their D zone...
Devils once again cant hold a lead. This has been going on for years now. But thats the Devils way, blowing lead. Good game though minus the collapse of the Devils
God we need better defence cause the leafs goaltending is just way too shakey but I think Campbell and mrazek can get the job done but they need better D
