Michael Bunting notched his first hat trick as a Maple Leaf, and Toronto went on a third-period onslaught, scoring five goals en route to a 7-4 win over the Detroit Red Wings.
@@jigga1981 That's insane... truly. Somewhat sad as well considering the others on the Leafs team who are paid multiples more and have less than stellar spunk.
@@ALAPINO lol lets just be happy the boys played with some fight tonight and hope they can carry the momentum forward ....February is gonna be a long month lol
@@jigga1981 One thing I've learned from casually cheering on the blue and white: Expect nothing and they can't disappoint. They have the raw talent to be contenders, finger are crossed.
@@ALAPINO my fingers are crossed with u....but this team is built different....all its really missing is a big body bruising defence-men that stays at home, plays the body, and is missing a few teeth lol
Great win from the buds on an off night. They didn't look great early but found a way to win. Everytime they face the Red Wings I can't help but admire Tyler Bertuzzi's game. Wished he was a leaf lol
Bert is a heart and soul player and we’re lucky to have him. I’ll be heartbroken if he gets moved, but whatever team would get him would instantly gain grit and determination.
I don't know about you guys but every time that these two teams play each other it's always been a great hockey game to watch there's always a lot of action on both sides. I'm happy for Bunting's performance and the Leafs as well, great job!!
@@JD-hm2wo Yes. I agree with this statement. Also Toronto will choke in the playoffs. Even some of my friends who are Leafs supporters thinks that this is not convincing.
@@dnl4ever666 It’s only tradition for him to respond with “something something 1967…………………………………………………..” and the million periods are totally necessary!
brutal play by Matthews on the first goal. great come back though! I had to turn the game off when the Leafs were down 4-2 so this was a nice surprise to see them get the win!
Red wings have to feel sick after this loss. Talk about a third period collapse. Their already unlikely playoffs chances just took a really big hit tonight. Good job, Leafs.
I doubt anyone even in the organization has plans for the playoffs. It’s not an expectation to begin with, all they wanted this year was “better” and we are better indeed. The compete level is up there, most nights not all, but this was a fun game regardless. A collapse yes, but it’s a young team against honestly a very good Leaf’s team. A lot of fans aren’t that bummed.
Bunting is a tough cookie born in Scarborough, Ontario just like me, congrats on the hat trick against the Red Wings and here's to many more, go Leafs go
Bunting with 3 goals he makes 950k, What a signing by dubas. Too bad all the dubas haters are too busy vandalizing terry foxs statue in Ottawa to hate on dubas
And all the happened to the Terry Fox statue is someone put a sign, flag and hat on it. That's hardly "vandalizing" it lol. No damage was done to the statue
Good game, looks like the blowers have become the blowees. In all fairness it looked like the leafs were lacking march sharpness and the red wings were hurting on fitness, so it was just a matter of the leafs getting there feet under them while the red wings were fading. Really impressive showing by our rookies Bunting and Sandin tonight with the hat trick and the gwg. Would have loved to see a hectic last 2 minutes of the game, but the ref had to call some BS penalty which really took all the air out the game.
I like Ritchie, good grinder, plays with a lot of heart but Engvall has good potential as well. If he would just utilize his size a bit more he will be dangerous. He's only 25, if he can develop a bit of an edge to his game, he'll turn into a 60+ point player. Leafs should hang on to him.
@@chaosgiraffe7417 How can you be sour that a $950k/yr player got some well deserved recognition while everyones top pick didn’t register a point in a tonights 7-2 victory?
The Leafs' defense reamins the glaring weak spotness on the team. If Toronto wants to make a move before the trade deadline, a quality blue-liner and would alleviate the need to play Dermott, who most nihts is lost out there. Mrazek played better than the score indictes...
