Phaneuf had a hell of a clapper. I remember when he broke two panes of glass in he same game. The fans gave a collective groan when he broke the second because theu had to watch guys with a ladder change glass again.
2 comments. - I have seen a clip where a goalie (from Philadelphia, maybe? It would have been from around 2001-2002) got a tipped shot lodges in his mask, requiring a replacement. - I myself once managed to break a referee's visor by attempting to clear the puck out of my end by shooting it up the glass...I had never seen a visor break like that before or since...Until now, I suppose.
I feel like any goal scored after a goalie equipment malfunction (after as in not the shot that caused the malfunction in the first place, but any subsequent shot thereafter) shouldn't count, because that's on the ref for not stopping the game as they should, giving the other team an unfair advantage.
