Flyers haven been pretty forgettable for some time unfortunately.

Hextall was gone by the end of November, so Fletcher deserves some of the blame for all the goalies the team used that year.

@@THE_bchat Eh, I'm not going to be as hard on Fletcher when he was handed a 19-year-old and several injured backups and told to stabilize things. Especially coming in at a point in the season where few if any GMs are all that interested in trading (Nov-Dec). Not like he was put in a position to succeed right off the bat, at least in that particular season. Fletcher could have handled it better sure, but imo the vast majority of the blame falls to Hextall for relying on two goalies with a well documented injury history playing anything other than backup minutes, especially when he had no intention of bringing Hart up from the minors. It was a microcosm of Hextall's biggest flaws as a GM, relying too much on the best case scenario and being too stubborn when it didn't come to pass.

The LA Kings had a couple of bad seasons where they had to sign free agent goalies too. 06-07 they had 5 goalies, and 07-08 they had 7

Quicky is my favourite player, and I personally think he is a stellar goalie. With all that I made that same joke to all my friends for a while because it is so ridiculous and stupid. Like I fully agree with the fine he should get and that it definitely shouldn't be a penalty, Just so stupid haha

as a goalie who's had his groin pulled out by a similar(but harder) play, i think a lot of this is him not knowing how hard the collision is going to be and prepping to stop his groin being injured yet again

@@72Kraken that's what Detroits broadcasting was talking about. A few guys in the past have used the back boards for passes. Notably Lidstrom.

I watched the replays a few times over with .25 speed. IMO (not a goalie, nor have ever played) if he was reacting to that push, the move he made looked like it was more strenuous than if he followed through with being pushed there.

With Quick's core strength, that push(yes, it was definitely there) shouldn't have been enough to knock him into turtle mode. I'm a Kings fan and thought for sure we were gonna be killing a penalty.

That definitely caused the fall, but he definitely overdramatized it.

They never call goalies for embellishment. They always get the benefit of the doubt.
