"Nice Things Cost Money." - Schindler's List (1993) #shorts #schindlerslist #movie #moviescene
Schindler's List is a 1993 American epic historical drama film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Steven Zaillian. It is based on the 1982 novel Schindler's Ark by Australian novelist Thomas Keneally. The film follows Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who saved more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish refugees from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories during World War II. It stars Liam Neeson as Schindler, Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Göth, and Ben Kingsley as Schindler's Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern.

When napoleon invaded russia, his soldiers were very well equiped. Except they used tin button's for their coats which couldnt handle the cold and shattered. Well, Schindler wasn't exactly a good guy. In fact he was awaiting execution for aiding false flag operations on his country by the Nazi party when the Nazis came into power. Since he aided the Nazis he was immediately set free and joined the party. Most people that knew him actually though he was a downright bastard if it came to ripping people off. Despite that he pulled that list off. I forgot where I heard it but someone described the situation as: "If a downright bastard could do the right thing, what's your excuse?" Lots of character flaws but still managed to pull off the incredible.

@user-yx2wn7ew9b

Glass becomes more brittle at low temperatures, it generally doesn't shatter on its own but is more likely to break from impacts such as those made during the transportation. Furthermore the consumer glass of today which is made to withstand the environmental effects better and the glass used back then are not the same glass. Of course we can't ever know if the glass in this case really broke because of the temperature or if it broke at all, anyone could be lying for profit or covering their mistakes up - but it isn't nonsense, low temperature could affect glass toughness back then and still can today but to a lesser extent.

The brilliance of Schindler’s List is not only it’s forthright depiction of one of man’s most brutal periods in history & the murderous genocidal actions that took place were the little moments of dark humor & levity interspersed throughout the film. Even in a movie that deals with the violence & genocide that happened during World War 2, Spielberg was able to put in these moments of levity which helped with delineating such a serious & heart wrenching topic. It was a difficult thing to balance given the gravity & seriousness of the subject matter but it worked perfectly without taking away from showing the brutality of this historical period & it gives the audience ephemeral moments to digest such heavy & depressing subject matter. It’s absolutely brilliant.

Shoe polish broke jars because of cold? XD did writer ever handled shoe polish? It's mostly wax/parafine. It would shrink not expand in cold.
@IJNAzooma
@IJNAzooma 3 месяца назад
Is your head just for decoration or something? The shoe polish had no effect on the glass, but the temperatures (studies say temps were as low as -40 on the eastern front at times) did. As with metals, ceramics, and polymers, glass is subject to brittle fractures. This means that as temperatures get colder, the inherent toughness of the material (glass in this scenario) increases while fracture toughness decreases. What this means is that the glass was more susceptible to fractures in a cold environment. There was no amazon or fedex back then, these jars were transported by truck along bumpy roads. Since the glass was more brittle, it would take a lot less stress to fracture the glass, something a simple bump in the road could muster.

@@IJNAzooma it may be for decoration. You're right, cold makes glass lose elasticity, prone to breaking.
